While Eddie Fisher, Carrie's father, might (or might not) have been a Khazar, Debbie Reynolds was raised an evangelical Protestant, and as far as I know, remained one.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

"when two people love one another deeply, and one goes, the other may lose the will for a longer life. So true, I've seen it happen on a number of occasions.

Dementio:

It is very common in cases where two people who have been married for a very long time, when one dies, the other dies shortly afterwards. This is not a matter of a curse, but of love - when two people love one another deeply, and one goes, the other may lose the will for a longer life. Why can't the same hold between a mother and daughter? It's especially devastating for a parent to lose a child.

We all die.
They were Jewish, Khazarian maybe/probably? (Khazarian's claimed the religion but were not of Jacob)
Gal_3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Zec_8:13 ...it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel, so will I save you, ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.

"Could there be a curse on that family?" Dementio there is no way for any of us to know this, simply because there is no way for any of us to know what they believed or practiced. However, we can know is that death in this life is not associated with any curse, it is simply an inevitable end to this life. The only exceptions will be believers who happens to be living when Jesus returns.

Jesus on the cross cancelled every curse for us who trust in Him.
