John, you need to take God at His WORD. One thing Satan can do is cause us to doubt ......it will be his lifetime mission to dog you and harass you and torment you about your salvation until, the day you die. HOWEVER, through these trials and testings YOU WILL, get more mature in your belief as you continue to walk and pray and STAND STRONG AGAINST THE ENEMY. Yes even false teachers will come along and tell you there is no such thing as OSAS. Or they will put you under rules and regulations you think you have to keep. JUST READ YOUR BIBLE, LISTEN TO GOD, NOT MAN, totally surrendering your life to the Lord.....because I guarantee, " HE IS ABLE TO KEEP ALL THAT YOU HAVE COMMITTED UNTO HIM".

I am not trying to be cruel or mean, but simply honest. It would be negligence if I encouraged you to believe you were saved if actually you were not.
What you need to know is the gospel of Christ.
The gospel that saves provides the knowledge of salvation. If you do not know you are saved, then you do not know the gospel that saves.
I declare unto you the gospel By which also ye are saved how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. 1 Cor 15:1-4

I was an agnostic. I had been told the Bible was false and full of errors.
I did find some small mistakes But mostly it all agreed. There are many parts Archeology has proved. others not.
Read about Daniel 2 where GOD predicted the future.

I would suggest you start by studying the Book of Daniel. It gives prophecies of the rise and fall of world powers until the 2nd coming of Jesus. It also predicts the exact year of the beginning of Jesus' ministry and the year of His crucifixion.
You might also check out the New Testament references to Jesus as the Creator and Lawgiver of the Old Testament.

Belief is created when the word of God works in us, not because of an evangelistic method which tricks our mind into thinking we are saved.
Without faith we are blind.
It is our job to make all men see (Eph 3:9).
How do men see the truth? By first hearing the truth. How do they hear it?
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Rom 10:17).
It is the message of Gods word that changes people.

Yone uses "belief" everday of their lives. One believes from the time they wake up to the time they hit the sack at night - and everything in between.
Your belief is strong and concerns the physical world. Your unbelief concerns the spiritual world.
Besides archeological findings that prove the events in the bible, there are two things that prove the existence of God: miracles and prophesy. Two prophesies are being fulfilled right this moment: the complete destruction of Damascus, the capital of Syria, and the dividing of Jerusalem. Keep watching these two events as they are being fulfilled.

John, what you are going through is normal. our faith is tested for the purpose of maturing. Read James chapter 1. That chapter has more answers and insight than any once we are saved. Read it over and over. Use the WORD OF GOD ONLY, and not some 800 number which could be false teachers.
Some false teachers do not believe our faith is tried and tested. John's 800 number may be one of those.....

If you would call (800) 435-4343 someone will be standing by to discuss this further with you and provide you answers to your question?

The only thing which will remove all doubt is proof, irrefutable proof that shows you God exists. Years ago I struggled with the same question,..as many do.
My proof came in the form of an answered prayer. Though I didn't really believe in God, I prayed and asked him for help. My irrefutable proof came when God instantly answered that prayer. Why did God answer my faithless prayer?
Because believing in God is the seed of faith, and by answering the prayer, he planted the seed. How can you have faith in God, if you don't first believe there is a God?
Jesus called it the mustard seed in (Matthew 13:31-32). Keep knocking John, and eventually God will answer the door, and plant that seed (Matthew 7:8).

Pray for the gift of faith.
Pray also that your emotions will catch up with what your mind knows to be true. (I have to do this all the time.)
Glory to jesus Christ!

Do what the father of the child with the mute spirit did when asking Jesus for His help. Cry out, sincerely, "Lord, I believe, help my unbelief." After all, " to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake," He's given you His word. Mar 9:24> Phl 1:29
