Yone uses "belief" everday of their lives. One believes from the time they wake up to the time they hit the sack at night - and everything in between.
Your belief is strong and concerns the physical world. Your unbelief concerns the spiritual world.
Besides archeological findings that prove the events in the bible, there are two things that prove the existence of God: miracles and prophesy. Two prophesies are being fulfilled right this moment: the complete destruction of Damascus, the capital of Syria, and the dividing of Jerusalem. Keep watching these two events as they are being fulfilled.

John, what you are going through is normal. our faith is tested for the purpose of maturing. Read James chapter 1. That chapter has more answers and insight than any once we are saved. Read it over and over. Use the WORD OF GOD ONLY, and not some 800 number which could be false teachers.
Some false teachers do not believe our faith is tried and tested. John's 800 number may be one of those.....

If you would call (800) 435-4343 someone will be standing by to discuss this further with you and provide you answers to your question?
May God be Gracious,

The only thing which will remove all doubt is proof, irrefutable proof that shows you God exists. Years ago I struggled with the same question,..as many do.
My proof came in the form of an answered prayer. Though I didn't really believe in God, I prayed and asked him for help. My irrefutable proof came when God instantly answered that prayer. Why did God answer my faithless prayer?
Because believing in God is the seed of faith, and by answering the prayer, he planted the seed. How can you have faith in God, if you don't first believe there is a God?
Jesus called it the mustard seed in (Matthew 13:31-32). Keep knocking John, and eventually God will answer the door, and plant that seed (Matthew 7:8).

Pray for the gift of faith.
Pray also that your emotions will catch up with what your mind knows to be true. (I have to do this all the time.)
Glory to jesus Christ!

Do what the father of the child with the mute spirit did when asking Jesus for His help. Cry out, sincerely, "Lord, I believe, help my unbelief." After all, " to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake," He's given you His word. Mar 9:24> Phl 1:29
