Another Great Depression Coming

Pastor Jim: The comedy show sounds terrible. Just like Oral Robert's claim that God would "call him home". God will give these comedians their "just reward" for insulting him. Thanks for reminding me that God used other nations to fulfill his purposes. Maybe God is allowing the USA to be taken down. I hope not, but the new "Messiah" seems to be leading us that way. Really! His increased spending doesn't seem to have helped much. However, the USA does have a BIGGER debt level because of INCREASED borrowing. Ouch! Again, I believe that God won't allow the USA to collapse, but I could be wrong. What will it take to get the USA to "wake up" before it is too late?

Another Great Depression Coming

Hey Sag, When your critics say that you are being pessimistic, you had better listen closely. Who has the attitude problem here? You? Them? Both sides? God does care about the United States of America and I don't believe that he would ever let it collapse. And let the un-Godly nations, like China, rule the world? Unthinkable! I don't believe much of the stuff coming out of Washington D.C. The USA seems to be on a collision course with economic disaster. Still, we must remain positive, and optimistic. I firmly believe that God will intervene to save the USA before it is too late. Why? The world cannot afford to lose the leader in many things: economics, foreign aid, missions, etc.

Jerry, Gordon: Yes, we must pray for all of our leaders. Be they Barack Obama, George W. Bush, or someone else. ALL human beings are sinful and imperfect because of Adam & Eve's sin in the Garden of Eden. I confess that I've seen both the "good" and "bad" in our leaders. From historial accounts of George Washington through Barack Obama. We need to pray that our leaders can overcome the sin that blinds all of us at one time or another. With God's help, I believe that it can happen. Leaders still must have the "will" to want to follow God. I questioned George W. Bush's "will" and I am not sure about Barack Obama.

You Asked: "Did that principle also hold for Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc?" My Reply: YES! We need to pray for leaders like that too. I'm not sure if they were Christian. All the more reason to pray for them. God will bring about changes in leaders. Difficult as it might be, our job is to PRAY for leaders and let God be God. We will all face God about our life. Romans 14:12 I believe that we saw this with Obama coming into office. He has exposed the lies and financial misdeeds of the George W. Bush administration.

Jerry, I believe that the Bible says that we should accept who God has put into leadership. And pray for them. That isn't always easy for me. While I don't consider Obama to be a "traitor", I do think that he is lacking in some areas. Like controlling the amount of Federal debt that is piling up. About $12 TRILLION or so. Yikes!!! The Biblical solution to this problem is . . . PRAYER for the President. That he will see the "light" and alter his policies. Many financial experts say that it is already "too late" for the United States to recover financially. Well, the Bible says that with God ALL things are possible. I pray that Obama follows God more closely.

When Did Sin Enter World
	Sin entered the world when Eve took the first bite of the forbidden fruit. Adam decided to eat too after seeing that Eve didn't die. They each were responsible for their own decisions. It was at the moment that Eve ate that SIN entered the world and both she, and Adam, began dying physically.

Sag, I think that your answer explained things well. I would like to add that this applies to ALL people, not just pastors. I used to "beat myself up" when my friends had issues. Two of my Christian friends ended up getting divorced. Other friends have had children before they were even married. Tough situations. Many parents of these people are deeply hurt too. Anyway, everyone is responsible for their OWN behavior here. I feel that many of us, like myself, end up "beating ourselves up" when we just need to let things rest. Once we have done all that we can do --> counsel, witnessing, prayers, rebuking, etc. --> we are no longer responsible for the decisions of others. Romans 14:12

Can Mental Illness Be Healed

At "spiritual warfare" seminars, I've learned that our minds are often the battlefield. This is true. Satanic thoughts, influences, lifestyles, etc. will often result in Mental Illness. However, these "spiritual warfare" seminars often seem to ignore that fact that Mental Illness can also result from medical problems, heredity, or some unknown/unclear cause. Some people just seem to be more likely than others to end up sick. Whatever the cause, Mental Illness CAN be cured. Just like other illnesses can be cured.

Can Mental Illness Be Healed

There IS such a thing as Mental Illness. Just as there IS such a thing as Physical Illness. For any illness, there can be a number of "causes" and a number of "cures". I believe that God uses a combination of NATURAL healing, MEDICAL treatments, and SPIRITUAL miracles, in curing any illness. A "common cold" can be cured by the human body's NATURAL defenses. Doctors use MEDICAL treatments of radiation and chemotherapy to cure "cancer". Prayers of believers lead to SPIRITUAL healing of "paralysis". Just as these Physical Illnesses were cured, Mental Illness can be cured. The timing of treatments, and the results, are different for each illness and each individual.

Should Christians Drink Beer

No, it is not wrong to consume beer. What is wrong is consuming TOO MUCH beer. That leads to being "drunk", which is a SIN and wrong. Personally, I don't drink beer. However, I do know many people, even Christians, who do drink beer. I'm O.K. with that as long as they don't get "drunk" or crash into my car. Drinking beer is dangerous if you drive a car. I think that the best and safest thing to do is AVOID drinking beer. That's MY own opinion.

Christian Women With Short Hair

I prefer women to wear their hair long. However ... Because a woman's hair is part of HER body, she alone is "free" to choose how to wear it. Likewise, men are "free" to choose how to wear their hair. I used to attend a church that had a couple where the husband had LONGER hair than his wife. A strange sight. This couple was part of the church ministry team. Not a very good example for young people, if you ask me. A person's "heart", not "the length of their hair", is what determines their spirituality.

Is God Sovereign
	Yes, God is ALL powerful and sovereign. He has the power to be: gently, tough, etc. Whatever he chooses. Our God is a MIGHTY God!

Is Islam Non-Biblical
	The answer to the question is TRUE. Islam "hates" Israel and clearly wishes for it's disapperance, demise, etc. Islam is against the Gospel, Jews and Christians, and God too. The Bible clearly teaches that whoever doesn't acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is headed for the Lake of Fire. Uh, Oh! Islam "blinds" it's followers to the truth and is just another false religion.

Properity Gospel Biblical

I have had many Christian friends who stopped talking to me once I told them that the "prosperity gospel" was not Biblical. Hmmm. Jesus Christ was always my example. He was "rich" spiritually, but "poor" otherwise. Many churches seem to use the "prosperity gospel" to get money out of people. These churches claim that "sowing" large sums of money will enable you to "reap" even larger sums of money. For a while, I believed that. However, what these churches "forget" to mention is that GOD determines your rewards. That may be money or SOMETHING ELSE. Like good health, protection for your family, a new family member, etc. GOD determines it all.

GOD allowed Barack Obama to come and hold offices in both the Senate, and the Presidency, for a reason. Again, GOD is the one who put Barack Obama into power. Study the book of Romans in the Bible. Many of us may not agree with what is going on. However, GOD has a plan. I believe that he is trying to get us to understand what he knows we just don't. Obama Helping The Economy

I though that George W. Bush might be the worst U.S. President after his untrue stories to justify invading Iraq, doing wire taps, etc. Well, it looks as though Barak Obama is well on his way to being the worst U.S. President now. It seems like his mega-spending programs are guiding the USA into being a dept-ridden, socialist country. Most people know that all that will only destroy the capitalistic system that the USA is known for. The USA economy needs government help in ENCOURAGING more capitalistic growth. Not more government spending that hinders that. Remember the Beatle's song "Back In The USSR"? That's where the USA is headed. Sad, but true.

Can Women Remarry

Nothing prevents ANYONE from getting remarried. Man or Woman. It's just that God has his views about WHY they are doing so. The world was "perfect" in the beginning. With Adam and Eve's Original Sin, came "imperfect" things. Including remarriages. God understands that in this "fallen", sinful world, we can't always uphold his original plan for marriage. Just like we have trouble keeping other sins out of our lives. As long as you discuss things with God first, you're free to remarry.
