Discern Wheat From The Tares

Romans 7:4So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God. 5For when we were controlled by the sinful nature,[a] the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death. 6But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

Why Christians Disagree

If we are led into understanding/truth by God there would be no difference, rather we would be in one accord. As we rely upon the Lord for revelation His word is made clear. However we, being human, and every man right in his own eyes, we do not rely on God in all instances, rather we rely on intellect, or what another has taught (without squaring it with scripture...), or some church doctrine. Seek the Lord and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. It's NOT an intellectual excercise.

Does The Bible Contradict Itself

veritas: "nobody KNOWS the truth, people only have faith"

I disagree. In many instances this may be true, but my God and His word states that we will know the truth and the truth will set us free, and according to Jesus "and do you not understand these things? I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe, how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly

What's Up March 2009

congratulations Alan! What a blessing grandchildren are. Praise God! Rebecca, yours has been a long trial. I'm glad you have some positive perspectives. May the Lord bless you.
I have been here perhaps 2 or 3 x in the last 10 months, and Have not seen Emcee.

Homeless People In The Park

A few comments..this may be sign of recession, but we are not to fear. What first came to mind is that the Lord puts us in situations for a reason. perhaps you are seeing these people in order for the Lord to work through you...to intercede in prayer, and help in whatever ways the Lord puts on your heart. Seek the Father's heart in this. Blessings.

Lakeland Florida Revival

Moderator, miracles aside, can you tell us what, if any, false doctrine are being taught or preached at Lakeland? I know a couple of people who have recently been there, 1, a man I believe truly loves the Lord and I wish to better understand. Thank you.

God Forgive At The Cross

Linda: "This is about Christ and His work."
Amen to that!

Jesus Only Way To Heaven

Earl, you wrote of those who "lived pre Jesus era..." and how they were not deprived of heaven. Everyone one of them knew the Lord and looked forward to the coming of Christ. Just 1 reference:
John 8:56
Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day, he saw it and was glad."
Also no one lived pre Jesus since He WAS from the beginning and through Him all things were made

Is Mary A Mediator For Christians

Emcee, glad you're better. You wrote: "You want salvation then go to HIS CHURCH Mat16:17-19."
Matt 16 doesn't say goto His church for salvation...the word throughout is clear that we are to go to HIM, salvation is through HIM. I understand the verse you cite is your support for your view, however, much else in the Word does not necesasarily square with this exclusive view (ie: the RCC as His one and only church) God's done too many wonrous things through non caths to believe only RCC are His

Is Mary A Mediator For Christians

As for the Holy Spirit guiding His church...yes of course He does, and His leading is perfect. Still, we can see numerous ex. of someone led or taught by the Spirit, then being led otherwise. Peter is a perfect example, it was
God who revealed to him that Jesus was the Christ, then shortly after, Jesus rebuked him. Point is, not to look solely to those who are Spirit led, but to ALWAYS check all things with God, with prayer and the Word.

Can Autistic People Love God

Ann, what is neurofeedback therapy?

Have You Matured In Christ

Mima, God is truly awesome! He is doing amazing things in our church...over 200 saved in the last couple of weeks, a 14 year old healed of blind eye, we've had many baptisms lately, today some were baptized including a young man, a former latin king gang memeer, wonderfully turned around life...glory to God!

Beggars Ask For Money

Giving is a wonderful opportunity to witness. There was a woman with cancer and radiation sickness who begged outside our local grocery store and she started coming to our church and is no longer on the streets

Is Mary A Mediator For Christians

Ruben,
"Romans 3:10 reads "As it is written:
"There is no one righteous, not even one,
But look at what Matthew 1:19 says "Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man"
This may seem a contradiction, but with proper understanding of the Word, one understands that throughout the Word, those called righteous have had righteousness imputed to them because of faith...study heb 11 as 1 of many examples...and that faith was in Jesus

Will We Be Omniscient

Linda, glad to see you back...there's been at least 1 other Linda here, but I knew it wasn't you by the style of writing and more importantly the Spirit.

Works Needed For Salvation

Hebrews 11:17 By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had received the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son

Romans 4:1-3 What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, discovered in this matter? 2If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast aboutbut not before God. 3What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."
