Women Teaching In Church

Yes, there are many female pastors in many "churches." Somehow they manage to skip Paul's admonition in 1 Cor 14:34-35 that it is a shame for women to speak in church. I take that to mean from the pulpit. That fits with the many other examples of women evangelizing and teaching from the home.

Church Does Not Need Tithe

The tithe existed before the law (Genesis 14:20), during the law, and after the law. Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives Hebrews 7:8. Notice the words receive and receives are present tense. Hebrews was written after the death burial and ressurection of our Lord Jesus. The Word in Hebrews 7 says of Jesus "You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek...because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood." The only function of Melcheizedek is to receive tithes.

Word Of Faith Churches

Word of Faith is spoken of in Romans 10:6-8. Verse 8 "But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" that is, the word of faith which we preach." 1 Corinthians 3:8 tells us we are coworkers with God. There is a part that God plays and there is a part that we play. Our part is to believe the Word of God and speak things in line with the Word of God and amazing things happen! 1 John 3:21,22 1 John 5:14,15

Spiritual Gifts For Today

The Bible says in Mark 16:17 "these signs shall follow them that BELIEVE" That is why those that believe in the gifts of the Spirit experience them and their benefits and those that do not (even though they may be Christian) do not. For the person that says these gifts died with the Apostles you have to show me the chapter and verse in the Biblle that says that or it's just your opinion.

Was Judas Forgiven

There're two different words in Greek that have the same translation in English. The word that's used in Mat 27:3 is "Metamelomai" and the one in Acts 2:38 is "Metanoeo". "Meta" means "after" (both words have that in common). The second part of the word "Metamelomai" (melomai) references what is destined to happen, as in consequence, while the second part of the word "Metanoeo" (noeo) references ones mind. Judas was regretful that he did something which he would suffer for, not regretful for the suffering he caused. That's not repentance that saves. Jesus himself while praying for his disciples confirmed this in John 17:12 calling Judas the son of perdition or doomed to destruction.

The Book Of Epoch

Epoch is mentioned in the modern bible twice. This book was part of the original bible for many, many years. I have read the book. I don't think others should decide what I read and believe. Each person has thier own spiritual journey to embark upon. I don't believe reading this book will cause anyone not to enter Heaven. Read away.

What Is The Gift Of Discernment

I am not sure what others have experienced, but here is what I have experienced. In my business I talk with alot of people in the course of my day, and have this ability to know if that person is lying or not, I can tell by voice reflection, there have been times I have backed away from business decisions due to this gift and the Holy Spirit protected me in the end. It's like it's not the same gift kind of gift that everyone receives.

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit Today

The Holy Ghost moves in different ways. I speak in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. People should not go to church to edify themselves by speaking in tongues. If you have the gift of tongues and the Holy Ghost moves you to transmit a message to the church, then do so. As the Holy Ghost moves through the assembly and the message is heard, then someone must have the gift to translate the message into the common language of the person or persons which the message was intended.Speaking in tongues in the church is great as long as the church is uplifted.

Do Unborn Babies Go To Hell

Why does satan want so many babies aborted? Jesus said a person must be born of the water then born of the spirit as to enter heaven. When a child is aborted it has not been born of the water. Is it possible that the soul which the aborted infant was to recieve is passed on to another? I hate abortion and I often wonder how a medical professional could perform such a discusting act. The natural way is miscarrage. However I do not judge women who have been raped or incest, or when the life of the mother is in question this is between them and God.

When Was The First Bible Written

The Hebrew Bible was written between 950 BCE and 400 BCE.
It was translated to Greek in 200 BCE when the the Greek emperor wanted to learn of this "Living God". He employed 70 Hebrew priest and scribes to translate the 39 books of the Hebrew bible into Greek. It supposedly took them 70 days hence the name Septuagint Bible or Alexandrian Bible. In some religions, there are other books added to the 39 canonized books they are called the Apocrypha.

Is Gambling A Sin

Professional poker players you see on TV work just as hard or harder than most 9 to 5 workers in this country. It is a game of skill where chance comes into play. If you are a very good player, you may lose big from time to time, but in the long run, IF you are dedicated and play intelligently and with good reason like the pros, you can expect to see a positive expectation. You have to be very smart, patient, intuitive, mathematical, reasonable, and courageous to be a winning poker player. If luck were not a part of the game (or life) the pros would absolutely dominate the fools. And in that sense, if luck were not part of the equation, it wouldn't attract the people who think it simply a game of luck to begin with.

Is Gambling A Sin

With that said, there is a way to take chances in our lives that involve God, namely, praying to him and meditating on the bible. God did not give us a life of certainty, he gave us a wild world that is full of chance, and that chance comprises both danger and success. When we arrive at times in our lives where uncertainty rules, we need to turn to God and use what he has given us to our best advantage. That is what he expects of us, and that is the only way we can live to enjoy truly fruitful lives.

Last King Of Israel

Troy - I just heard the account this week of Joseph being in the bloodline to be a king, and how it could not be because of the "last king's" actions. Can you give me the scripture reference for this? Thanks GeoN

I Never Loved My Husband

You are in a dilemma and eventually you will have to choose. I have read what others say here that "Love is a choice, not a feeling." My reaction to that is Blah, blah, blah." I have heard that over and over as though it were a Bible verse. Look at examples like Jacob and Leah and Isaac and Rebekah. Tell me there were no feelings when they first saw each other. Those men nearly did back flips! Love IS a feeling and it can not be denied. You made a mistake. Rectify it or live with it. Those are your options.

Christ's Linen Napkin

Be in the ground the same as Jonah in the great fish, 3 days. They came on the first day of the week, Sunday is the first as we know it, Saturday the "weekly sabbath". 3 days would then be wednesday sundown to Thursday, Thurs sundown to Friday, Friday sundown to Saturday sundown. He arose after sunset Saturday, "before dawn Sunday" (when the women came to the tomb) so folding was not done on sabbath.About Lazarus - Lazarus walked out of the tomb and wasn't bound, though he was still wrapped a bit. The Lord's command was to Hell (paradise) where souls went. to be loosed from the bonds of Hell. It is finished was the fulfillment of the Old Testament, the Law.

Death Penalty Biblical Today

I dont believe the Penalty is a Christian decision. He taught to render to Ceasar what is Ceasar's (follow the laws of the land). The old testament was eye for an eye, the new testament is under His Grace. What would be better as a deterrant to severe crimes?

Where Is The Grace

The age of grace is still around and will continue until the times of the Gentile be fulfilled. The balance resides in the individual. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, howbeit past, present or future. Where the problem resides is in accepting that salvation or rejecting it.

An individual can say he accepts Jesus, but does not make Jesus his or her complete Lord. They hang onto authority for their lives and believe they have given it all over to Christ. Jesus said: unless you leave your mother, brother, sister, and everyone else including your very own self, you cannot be His disciple.

Pray To God Or Jesus

The Bible tells us that there is only one mediator between God and man and that is the man Jesus. Jesus is God, but He gave up His Godly attributes for our salvation.

That may seem as a contridiction, until you understand that Jesus is in actual fact the very Word of God. Just as you and your words are you, the Father's Words are Jesus. Words come from the heart of man. The same with God, When you appeal to the Father through Jesus, you are actually appealing to God's heart. Jesus is the Word of God manifested in the flesh, and He still resides in the flesh, because He ascended into heaven in the flesh.
