Should I Support Depressed Husband

I am in exactly the same position my husband is depressed about how things have turned out for him. I have finally persuaded him to get counselling but he's giving up on his business 3 years short of retirement i am expected to be the main breadwinner and i find it very stressful. Should you continue to support?Well i guess you married for better or worse on the other hand the depressed spouse needs to get help for themselves. If they refuse to get treatment i think there would come a point where you would have to walk away. Its just too difficult to deal with and however much you love someone they must move toward their own healing. Seek help from your church network they can be a great support to you

Who is Joyce Meyer?

It's amazing to me how quick people are to point fingers and judge, even though as Christians we have been very specifically told not to. Joyce Meyer has a beautiful, Spirit-filled ministry that has been making an impact on Christian's lives for years. Anger, bitterness and a haughty, judgmental spirit are certainly not fruits of the Spirit. We are all part of the body of Christ and maybe you can do things and reach people she can cannot. Maybe I can do things and reach people you cannot, and maybe Joyce can do things and reach people neither of us ever could. The hands do not and can not do what the ears do... and so on through-out the whole body. So instead of spewing poison, we should offer our prayers for her.

Can Ladies Wear Pants

Reference to how men and women should dress is primarily under the Mosaic Law. Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Jesus said in Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. My suggestion: pray, find a great concordance and research it. Believing Christians are justified by their faith in Jesus Christ not by the law.

Theophostic Healing Ministry

I know several individuals who believe they have recieved healing & are free but are still bound by depression, anxiety, & fear. I have looked into it, though many scriptures are used, I don't see it as being biblical. No where in the bible does Jesus or any of His disciples ever use this type of deliverance/healing method. Just as we see in the old testament where the magicians were able to duplicate SOME of the signs and wonders that Moses performed before Pharoah, satan can still do the same today. The difference is that when the Son sets you free, you are free indeed! Spend time in the Word & seeking His face. Healing will come. I know from experience!

Under A Controlling Ministry

Just go to God in prayer about your situation and what's on your heart (He already knows everything but will not lend guidance unless you ask Him for it) and do as He leads. If you follow the path He's leading you on it doesn't matter what anyone else has to say or think about it.

Exceptions For Divorce

Having heard pastors preach on this I can explain the messages they give and I believe. Yes, adultery is the first exception, but abandonment is another and, although this isn't specifically addressed and opinions vary on it, I believe abuse is a valid exception as well. Abuse violates a basic teaching of God; "do unto others..." I don't believe
(after praying for divine guidance to the truth) that God would expect one of His children to remain in an abusive situation.

Roles Of Women In Church

I've asked my preacher about this and it was explained to me that this passage means women should not hold authority positions in the church (pastor, deacon, etc.). Women can be Sunday School teachers, nursery workers, etc., just not part of the "executive staff."

Is Killing In A War Wrong

Abortion entails taking of an INNOCENT human life. No innocent life is being taken in Iraq (at least not intentionally by us-unfortunately what the military calls collateral damage happens). What's going on Iraq is self- and national defense.

Pastor Refused Me In Church

For everything there is a time and a season. There may not have been enough time in the service for you to give your testimony and I am sure you will be given another opportunity.

Unmarried Couples Serve In Church

Um, Moderator, maybe your two word answer needs a little more explanation (though it WAS seriously direct)?:) Church leaders (deacons and pastors alike) are to be above reproach. An unmarried couple living together is anything BUT above reproach; they're in direct violation of God's Word and have no place in a church's leadership.

Billy Graham Largest Evangelist

Yes, Billy Graham has helped to do this (remember, God's the One in charge), but never forget that Billy Graham is just a man and messes up, too. He was on Larry King Live recently and said (on national television no less) that he's no longer sure he believes that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. This goes directly against everything the Bible teaches.

Do You Dress Up For Church

I have a question then . . . where did "Sunday Best" come from, and why did people used to do it all the time? It seems vanity seriously applies to our society this day and age, not back years ago, so I don't know if that makes any sense to me.
I know what matters is what's in your heart and not what you have on, but I have to be honest . . . sometimes I get really annoyed when I see an usher at our church dressed in a t-shirt, jeans, and flip flops.

What Is Christian Courtship

Christian courtship is handling the courtship period of a relationship in a Christian manner (the way God explains it in the Bible).

Having A 6 Month Affair

Marriage is worth saving. If he is willing to go to counseling and turn from his ways, you should try to forgive and move on...I would suggest a job change and possibly move. For your four children, and for your happiness. Again marriage is worth saving!

Wife Having An Emotional Affair

I am so sorry to read about your wife. You want her emotional faithfulness. You want her to have emotional ingertity in the marriage. This is why it hurts so badly.
I wrote a book emotional purity. I keep a blog, but can not put the address. search emotional purity blog and you'll find me.

Who Should Give Me Away

Who is your heart telling you to have walk you down the aisle? Remember, that part is tradition and there's no single "right" way of doing it. If it's any consolation, I know many people who have "broken" all sorts of traditions at their weddings (I'll have to break several due to health reasons and principles when my time comes *shrug*).
