| Obama Gives Muslims Power | |
Hang on...I thought anti-Obama conspiracy theorists thought Obama was a Muslim. Now I'm just confused.
| Is Remarriage Accepted By God | |
Jesus gives reply to that very same question. He said that because of the hardness of your hearts, Moses gave a command of a writ of divorce. Jesus said from the beginning it was not so. So GOD's plan is not for divorce, but for man and woman to work it out through forgiveness. You may say I can't do that, but didn't Christ forgive us when he had no reason to. When we say we will not, we place ourselves higher than Christ. That is a dangerous place to be. Get truly honest with GOD and devoutly seek his face in this matter, you will see. In Malachi GOD said he hates divorce. Things he hates are sin.
| Divorce Second Husband | |
I to stand on the thought of asking GOD what you should do. He will not disappoint or not answer. I personally have read it was Jewish law, that you would be considered defiled, but Jesus said you are living in adultery now. Your first husband, from the way I understand it, is your covenant husband. When you make a covenant, GOD expects you to honor it. Jesus tell the young man in the Bible that we are supposed to forgive 70 times 7, which means there is no end to forgiveness. And you are supposed to have an unconditional love for your spouse. A love that says I don't care how you feel about me, or how you treat me, I am going to love you. As Christ loves the church. New testament as well.
| Do You Believe In God | |
The upsurge of Calvinism from the the 1990s on seems to have spawned a large and unprecedented movement of jejune Calvinists who wear arrogance as if it were the team uniform. That kind of hotshot, shoot-from-the-hip Calvinism is ugly. I don't blame anyone for being appalled by it. I'm worried about those who think it's all good and all those who join themselves together in packs of wolves. It appears many threads here find it's way into the hands of these neo-calvinists who would rather tell Athiest he's not the elect rather than present the Gospel. You cannot have a Gospel that does not accurately preach hell and God's judgement on sin in order to explain the Gospel of God's Love through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ.
| Did Jesus Drink Wine | |
"Nothing from without a man that, entering into him can defile him." If you apply this verse's context you find that it is not talking about the tangible (that which we can touch) but the intangible (untouchable i.e. attitude, behavior, etc.) If you take this verse out of context and apply it to the tangible, it would mean that arsenic among other things would not "defile." We all know what would happen if we drank arsenic: death (it would kill our bodies). The same applies to alcohol. Shall we kill/destroy the temple of the Holy Ghost?
| Spanking Young Teenage Boy | |
As a teacher, I can tell you that POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES work best. Reward him for doing the right thing. Give him something to aim at. You need to have heavy, clear and consistent NEGATIVE BEHVIOUR MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES to back these up. This could include spanking. He should know why he is being spanked, what he did wrong, and how he could have avoided it. Try to use the carrot. If it doesn't work, use the stick!
| Hide Abortion From Husband | |
Yes, there is forgiveness. We have Prevenient Grace that comes form Jesus. The only thing that will keep you out of heaven is Blasphamy agianst the Holy Spirit or to denounce the name of Jesus. This is the Holy Spirit within you saying sin no more What you are feeling is remorse for your actions. Pray this, Lord I know I have sinned and there is nothing I can do on my own to make it right, but I ask you Lord forgive me, to wash me white as snow. Help me Lord to remove these thoughts from my mind and ease the pain in my heart for not giving life. Lord you created us to create and destroy, because of the fall we know this. Help me to always cherish life and sin no more.
| Americans God's Chosen People | |
Isreal always has been and always will be Gods chosen. America has been blessed but it has turned away from the blesser and are very close to cursing. America is a very sinful and backslidden nation, and unless we repent and turn again to God, we will experience His judgement and wrath. We are told to watch and pray by the Lord, but like the disciples in the garden we have fallen asleep and we have no time to pray. Well we better wake up and begin praying before it is too late. Wake up America!!!
| What Is A Submissive Wife | |
God did not instruct women to submit to their husbands. It was the apostle Paul in his letters. That related to a specific culture at that time. The fact that men have used this as a benchmark for all relationships in marriage is misguided and ignorant. Surely letters written by a single man cannot be deemed as the "words of Christ". A healthy marriage consists of 2 people, equal in respect for each other, and equal in decision making. When one of them becomes dominant, it's unbalanced. Only weak men want to dominate, and even weaker men use the Bible to justify it.
| Did God Give Us Free Will | |
All of you should look into reading the book "Across the Spectrum" By Greg Boyd and Paul Eddy. The book contains 18 debated topic within Evangelical Christianity. Leaders of each view argue their points both Biblically and logically. It is a very interesting read and gives you the eagerness to come to the best conclusion. This "free will" debate is one of the topics. As for me, I do believe scripture tells us that God knows all, but does not control all, God wants man to love Him.... to do so, we must have the ability to reject Him and therefore have free will.
| Praying For A Good Wife | |
I mean, its a tough thing to face, but have you ever thought that maybe God doesn't want you to be married? Its possible He has another plan for your life that best serves Him. Right now I am dealing with feelings for a girl who isn't saved. I am 18, but I know that seeking a relationship with this girl isn't what God has planned for me. So, the best thing I can do is deal with the hurt by trusting God and focusing on witnessing to this girl instead of a relationship. If God has something planned for me with her in the future than great, but I can't forget that God comes first in all things. So stop worrying about finding the right person.. yes, pray, but focus on God, your "first love"
| Can Christians Drink One Beer | |
Some people get it right, but most don't. Jesus did not drink a fermented wine... the King James version of the Bible was written in 1611 and in that time, the word wine could mean both fermented and non-fermented. Jesus drank something more like grape juice, not alcohol. Proverbs 23:31-32 clearly tells us no to drink any! fermented drink.
| About To Marry A Non-Christian | |
Take a look at 1 Corinthians 7:14 this verse can be taken different ways, but if the saved spouse holds true to loving God above all else and dying to self to live for Christ, the verse says to me that God will perform a work in the heat of the unsaved spouse. I am not saying what is right and what isn't, only God can do that... but many Christians have no idea what the Word says, so go read it and pray on it.
| What Is The Third Heaven | |
Helen_5378, Jared, SeventhSeal, are correct, and their responses actually relate to the meaning of the term "3rd heaven" to the Jews. Ashley mis-interprets, "1 Cor 15:40,41". The verses are not about different "heavens" or "kingdoms". They are part of an explanation of the resurrection of the dead, which is expounded on in vv 15:42-50. In fact the entire chapter is about the resurrection: Christ's and ours. --thanks
| Arrested For Praise Music Too Loud | |
Music should be no louder than 85 dB, which means being able to hear one another speaking at arm's length, otherwise you damage the hearing of your brothers and sisters in Christ. (I have finally discovered that the tinatas I suffer from (early stages of deafness) has come from loud music in church. My wife has also developed hearing problems for the same reason.

| Nightmares Mean Not A Christian | |
Your pastor should be basing his teachings on the Bible alone. No where in the Bible does it state that "demonic attacks" on a person mean they are unbelievers - if anything it says the opposite. Satan has no reason to go after unbelievers, he already has them - but he definitely makes it a point to pester those who believe, as these people draw his men away from him. Also, be aware that just because bad dreams happen (or anything bad) it doesn't mean that there has to be demons involved. Stress is a factor in bad dreams. Remember, the world stopped being perfect in the garden of Eden, there's going to be bad things that happen. When you have nightmares, PRAY. There is no power in man but that through the Lord, and you are HIS :)
| Have You Seen An Angel | |
I was woke from a dead sleep last week by, what I beleived to be an angel. I'm six foot and he was about one foot taller then me. He had white hair, long white shirt and white eyes. He told me he had been sent to take me to heaven. I ask what would happen to my wife and kids and he said I didn't have to go now if I didn't want to, I could wait and go when Jesus returned. I ask him if I would regret not going now and all he said was, as long as I made it there would never be any regrets. He then floated straight up and out of sight.I was left with a sence of peace that is still with me today.
