Are Open Visions For Today

How often did it happen in the bible? Not very often and only to godly men who had suffered extreme things for the kingdom. I have to question people who have "visions" all the time. Even the men in the bible didn't have them frequently ie: once or twice in their lifetime. Can it happen? Of course, God can do what He wants, I just believe it to be very rare.Be careful, the devil can imitate God in this manner,physic visions etc., even be accurate, demons do have knowledge, that doesn't mean it's from God. |

1Corinthians 15:8 clearly states that Paul saw Jesus (he didn't fall over dead). John saw the Lamb in Revelation. Jesus can and does appear to people although rarely, what a privelege that would be! |

I never have understood the anointing of your house with oil. I knew a guy once who was so obssessed that he anointed his air vents and sink drains, windows etc. The only place they anointed the house in the bible was to let the angel of death (angel sent by God) know they were God's people and cause him to passover their firstborn. Anointing the sick is also biblical but the rest is a bunch of man made junk. Jesus keeps devils away, not oil! |

The same destination we all had/have if we don't repent! It's amazing how folks think they can be forgiven but others can't. All sin leads to death, not just abortion. |

I have to agree with Trish and Strongaxe. Supposedly Jeffrey Dahmer got saved before he was killed. Although it is interesting that both he and the doctor were murdered as "He who lives by the sword will die by the sword." |

Look at Manasseh in 2Kings 21:16 "He shed much innocent blood till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another" He also practiced witchcraft, put an idol in the Temple and seduced Israelites to do more evil than the pagan nations that God destroyed! What would you guys do with him? In 2Chronicles 33:12-19 Manasseh repented and prayed to the Lord and He(God) received his entreaty! You never know whom God will have mercy on so be careful because you will be judged the same way you judge others. |

"Love your enemies" Yes abortion is wrong. So is lying, drunkeness, sexual immorality etc. All those who practice these will not enter the kingdom of heaven. So our goal is to preach the gospel to sinners. I heard a preacher say something the other day that really got me to thinking. "Yes we should protest abortion. But when was the last time you had an abortion doctor over to your house for dinner and showed him the love of Jesus as opposed to angry rhetoric? |

Heb 8:11, 10:16 teaches that God will write his laws in our minds and in our hearts. He will teach us. Jesus said my sheep will know "My voice". If we are serious about God, if we seek his face, if we study to show thyself approved (2 Tim 2:15), if we pray without ceasing, if we fast, if we believe, if we are diligent, I believe God will always open our eyes to false doctrines. Paul taught in Philipians that any way Christ is preached (even in contention, not sincerely) he rejoiced. I beleive he knew that if we are faithful to Christ He will always show us truth. Don't trust history or mans doctrine trust God's word and Jesus. |

When things were at the worst in the bible, ie, David's son dying, Esther's people about to be slaughtered, Israel's enemies winning, horrible things, people fasted to get direction from God. Set yourself to seek what His will for you is. David cried out to God "How long will you forsake me?". It's amazing how clear His voice is when we deny our flesh. I have fasted and prayed and told God I won't eat until He answers and He is always faithful. |
