| I Want To Believe In God | |
I do not want to just go to heaven when I die. Which I actually believe happens at the resurrection. I want to walk in doing right and living right today. I want to be a person who like JESUS is loving to others today. Who does right because it is right against a world that is filled with sin and hatred. I want to stand for truth and goodness. I want to treat others with respect and love no matter what they believe. This is part of being a Christian. Some good books to help are Evidence that Demands a Verdict by McDowell. Desire of Ages by Ellen G. White. At your local Bible bookstore or on the internet there are books about how the Bible is true. GOD be with you.
| I Want To Believe In God | |
I was not raised in a Christian home and reading the Bible was not even talked about. My Grandmother was Christian but my dad and mom who divorced when I was four were not. I was an agnostic. I kinda of thought GOD might be real but I was sure the Bible was false. But after suffering a major event in my life. I decided to check it out. This started when I was 18 but I did not become a Christian until I was 22 and away at college. That was 35 years ago. While some days I have doubts the Bible and faith have answered them. Remeber when many were suprized by Mother Terrecies doubts? You can deal with doubt with the help of GOD.
| Exegesis vs Eisegesis | |
very good definitions and point made here. Unfortunatly this is easier to spot in the works of others and not our own. Maranatha
| Christians Don't Read The Bible | |
Unfortunatly many Christians do not read or study the bible. but others of us do. I have the entire bible over six time since I have read six different translations of the Bible. I have read the New Testament more then that. What is more important then reading is hiding GOD's word in our heart so we will not sin against Him.
