Miss California Controversy

This woman LIES! Just by nature of strutting around in a sequined bikini at this so called 'beauty pageant' she is a lie to her confessed Christian faith. She claimed pictures were being taken and her skimpy top 'blew off' in the wind!HA! The photographer says that was NOT the case. She's posing there looking straight into the camera. She also claimed that she was just 16 or 17 years old at the time. WHO allowed a minor to pose for such pictures? Later pictures, taken in the last couple of years (after she turned blonde!)were VERY inappropriate! She had breast augmentation surgery just weeks before this contest. Is this even logical, much less Christian? I'm glad I brought my daughters up to know right from wrong!

What's Up May 2009

Thanks to anyone who prayed for me. I've secured a job and it looks as if it will work out well indeed! I'll have to travel a little at first, but not very far.The city I will commute to for training is where my twin sister lives so I can't complain, nor would I! God is so good! My children have been good prayer partners to me, as has my church. Starting over at 54 was somewhat scary to me but God has supplied my needs and I'm very thankful.

	Tom2 are you from Florida originally? As I recall that's where the majority of that tribe settled. I'll look and see if I can find your family history on the mentioned site. I love history and this sounds like the makings of an interesting read!

What Causes Poverty

Thank you for the encouragement Donna55. At this time I'm looking for any kind of work that I'm suited to do but my main skills and experience are in sales. I've had a full education and could be taught to do other things. My resumes have gone out to many companies that are diverse and need other skills that I posess. I can't be picky at this point! God knows my needs and I depend on Him to direct my path. I'm alone and only have me to support. I'm a widower and my 3 children are in their chosen fields of endeavor. All college grads and my eldest, my only son is working on his Masters. I'm blessed that I was able to help them before the bottom fell out! God bless you!

What Causes Poverty

I understand completely Donna. This question hit me particlarly hard because after 27 years with Circuit City, being the top salesperson for many of those years, I am now out of work, about to loose my home. I am on every possible employment list and have sent out dozens of resumes. I interviewed for a great job and they seemed to like me and my work record. Unfortunately there was ONE job opening and 500 applicants. I'm feeling like a bum, at 54 yrs old jobs are difficult to come by. I'll keep pounding the pavement and praying. I'm not choosing poverty, but it may be thrust upon me through no sin of mine.

Is the science fiction book some of you talk about one of L.Rod Hubbard's maniac books? Its sounds like some of his crazy stuff. He wrote awful science fiction books that few bought. He used his ideas and started his 'religion' of Scientology. He knew that religion sells and he made a fortune selling his religion to ignorant people looking to fill a void in their lives. If you look at some of the basics of Scientology, ie going to other planets, time travel etc you can see his poorly written books reflected in their beliefs.

How could anyone get that the questioner is trying to blame anyone for anything"?---Elder on 4/26/09 Maybe rereading the question might help you to understand the response, if you want to understand. "What is the cause of poverty? Is it sin, God's will or laziness"? "SIN, LAZINESS?" These 2 key words represent that a person could do something to be blamed for their own poverty. You're way off base with your opinions mr. Elder. I don't know many people here, I come here sometimes to get spiritual support and to learn. This is more like a grudge match, what's spiritual about that?
