You apparently have not read the Genesis account that the sun was created on the 4th day. And you want me to believe the sun was there on the 1st day? Bizarre indeed! And what is unscriptural about acknowledging the FACT the Genesis record DOES NOT reveal the duration of the creation periods? And yes I have to agree with tray, that your little world would fall apart as much of what you truly believe is based on ASSumptions. I really need to quit this subject with you as I am wasting my time with someone of a much lower ability to think.

yes, Ignatius, we can all see that the Orthodox church makes much the same claims as that of the Roman Church. They truly believe that the Lord commissioned them to led all the other churches but totally ignore the fact that He did not ever promise immunity from doctrinal error either in practice or theory. As a result, they really are without any good argument that they have been the chosen ones of God. The Lord leads His church through His people- that that are born spiritually in Him, not by some power hungry hierarchical elite that seeks to serve themselves.

Why Was The Sabbath Changed

The Jewish Sabbath - Saturday - was considered a workday except in jewish communities. And most of the early Christians were of the lower economic & social classes so it would not have been feasible to observe the jewish sabbath particularly for Gentile converts. However, the early church gathered on the non-work day Sunday and thus Sunday became the Christian Sabbath. We note the church historians have found that the early church no longer observed the Sabbath by the end of the 1st century. Therefore we can conclude that the Apostles and their immediate successors did not teach observance of the jewish sabbath to Gentile converts. We can easily see that in the writings of the early church.

	Yocha - *Isaiah 2:2-4, Micah 4:2-3, Ezek. 45:21-25 & Zechariah 14:16 None of those verses really have anything to do with the millenium reign of Christ. It is only those who are obsessed with the rituals of the Old Testament dispensation that would even suggest that any of the feasts - most of them reflect back to the history of Israel, would even be celebrated in the millenium kingdom.

*Jerry, you keep talking about the 10 Commandments only because you want everyone to think that the Sabbath is broken on purpose by all others, not SDA's. While you are answering MarkV, could you please tell us where in the New Covenant of the church it states that breaking the OT Sabbath is a sin. There are a listing of sins found in Mark 7,21f, Romans 1:29f, Galatians 5:19f, and 2 Timothy 3:1-4 and Sabbath breaking is not even listed. 3. Bet you do not have an answer!!!!!

However, for those that believe in Christ and have accepted what He has done for us, our justification is not from the law but from the grace provided for us in Christ. Leslie - it would be much to your advantage to pick up a good book on early church history. NONE of the early writers - some being the disciples of the Apostles themselves, really believed Gentile converts needed to observe laws that were strictly Jewish. It is obvious that since the early church did not teach sabbath keeping, observance of festivals, Levitical dietary laws,etc. that such things were NOT taught or required of the Church.

Adventists must adhere to the ancient King James Version with its mistranslations in order to support their faulty Investigative Judgment doctrine - a doctrine not supported by any known Biblical expositors and for good reasons. Their IJ doctrine holds that those in Christ (in whom there is no condemnation,Romans 8:1) will end up in the fires of hell if they do not observe all the ten commandments - that covenant made only with the Jews, not the church.

As a matter of FACT, I totally accept the Word of God including the Genesis account but the problem here is I refuse to accept your faulty ASSUMPTION that the 1st 3 days were solar days of 24 hour duration. A day is based upon its relationship to its star. In our case, that is the sun which as you fail to understand was not created until the 4th day. Your problem is your faulty theology that we need to observe the OT sabbath - a command not taught in the early church nor even suggested.
