I am in agreement with Atheist. A child should be left alone, and not touched by anyone, nor should Mima have done anything but send her on her way. I would not have wanted my child to be witnessed to by anyone of any religion, and would expect my neighbors to respect my child enough to leave her alone. As for the Holy Spirit, I know of nobody who experienced physical symptoms upon salvation. Salvation and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit are FACTS and TRUTHS based on FAITH and GOD'S HOLY WORD. Not feelings, tingly or otherwise.

Jimmy, you have not posted your credentials for your self-declared title of PASTOR. Anyone can do that for a living and it does not mean you are qualified to "Shepherd" a flock of humans. With your abusiveness here, I am surprised that anyone would call you Pastor. Bright did not post about men being abused. She posted about herself being abused. There have been posts on Christianet from men who have been abused. IF you were interested, you would have seen them, and seen that I encouraged the male victims of abuse to leave that abuse and seek therapy. Nobody, male or female has the right to abuse anyone, physically, emotionally, verbally, or spiritually. And, nobody, should have to stay in an abusive relationship.

I am also going to suggest that you seek it from a domestic violence shelter, because there you can get guidance about the abusive aspects of your relationship with your husband, as well as explore other areas of the abuse. If you feel threatened in anyway, get out of the house immediately. Seek safety first and foremost.

As a mental health professional, I can certainly say that there is a HUGE difference between verbal abuse and arguing. Since the original poster said VERBAL ABUSE, I would venture to say that she has experienced it, and knows the difference between the two. I have done therapy with verbal abuse VICTIMS and know the devastation that it causes in a person. Pastor Jim, I would love to know what qualifies you to use the title PASTOR, as you certainly lack grace, humility, or empathy, three of the character traits that the pastors of my church have displayed.

Wife Spends All My Money

First, you must pray for her and with her. Pray about your finances with her, and show her the importance of seeking the Lord's wisdom for purchasing decisions. Then, you need to seek marital therapy for the two of you. If she is your wife, it is not YOUR money alone. It is yours and hers, together. Your thinking about your finances as a couple needs to change in order to start working together as a team.

What's Up October 2009

Once again, the What's Up Blog? has become a political argument blog. Instead of being a place of support and comfort where a believer can go to for prayer and encouragement, it has become a source of bitterness, and strife. I must say, that I have pretty much given up on Christianet. With the exception of a few rational, spiritually minded friends, I have only seen contentiousness. The pity is that the friends I have, as well as myself, have been called names and treated poorly by the contentious ones. I hope to keep in touch with the friends, but do not care to hear from the contentious ones. God bless. I will drop in from time to time.

	Wayne: I have no problem with what the Obama administration is doing. I am a social worker and urban public school teacher, and I voted straight Democratic, as I do in every election. I also believe that the Bible is the Word of God. The media that I am most concerned with is Fox News, and their lying henchmen. What is your point?

Elder: I will gladly admit to having spread lies about Bush, if I am made aware of them. Unfortunately, when I look back on the Bush years, and think of lies, I think of several that the Bush administration was responsible for regarding Iraq, and the WMD, and the CIA agent who was outed. It seems that there are a rash of lies about Obama's plans being spread by certain media that is perpetrated by some believers, without weighing what that network says against other media, in order to find balance. I am aware that all of the media leans either left or right, but one network just is so extreme, it is scary.

What's Up October 2009

Darlene, We have similar clinics in Philadelphia, but the big problem is that if you are working at a day job, and have no insurance, and get sick, you must take a day off from work, without pay, to be seen at the clinic, and then if you need a specialist the wait is long and then another day off without pay. Then, if you have kids, it starts all over, and so on. I have been at both ends of the insurance spectrum, and I just pray for those who are caught where I once was. I did not qualify for Medical Assistance, and I had no insurance but I had two jobs to pay the bills.

	Narcissistic is a word that is used multiple ways. It could be used to describe someone who is very selfish and self-centered, the world revolves around them. Or, it could be used as a diagnosis of a personality disorder, which you could look up on Google.

	The only things I know to do are pray for the unsaved, and be open to opportunities to share my faith.

Is Obama A Traitor

I will be the first to admit I was wrong in saying I believe certain bloggers are traitors. I apologize to those I called traitors. I was wrong. I will not accept being accused of being a defender of the indefensible. I believe that the lies and false witness that goes on in these blogs in inexcusable for people who claim to believe in Christ, and I have seen way too many lies posted about our current president. I also believe that IF some of the Christians here are truly filled with the Spirit of God, they would be better at discernment and not fall for a lot of the lies that are being spewed out by certain people in the media.

Pass Health Care Legislation

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. What part of PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE would exclude ensuring everyone adequate healthcare? As for the liberals not honoring the military, I do honor the soldiers. I was an Army wife and appreciate the men and women who serve. I do not believe that the war in Iraq was anything but Bush's lies and greed, NOT our protection.

Pass Health Care Legislation

I find it fascinating that there are people here who talk about the government's inability to manage things, and handle the enormity of expense of healthcare legislation, YET, these same conservatives saw nothing wrong with our same government managing the trillions of dollars it cost to send thousands of young men and women to a war in a country where there was not imminent threat to us, bringing many of them home dead, or disfigured. Somehow the government was okay handling and managing the defense department, and the slaughter of our young people, BUT not in taking care of the healthcare needs of our citizens here on U.S. soil. Hmmmm. Good for war. Bad for health. I must be missing something.
