I am in agreement with Atheist. A child should be left alone, and not touched by anyone, nor should Mima have done anything but send her on her way. I would not have wanted my child to be witnessed to by anyone of any religion, and would expect my neighbors to respect my child enough to leave her alone. As for the Holy Spirit, I know of nobody who experienced physical symptoms upon salvation. Salvation and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit are FACTS and TRUTHS based on FAITH and GOD'S HOLY WORD. With your abusiveness here, I am surprised that anyone would call you Pastor. Bright did not post about men being abused. She posted about herself being abused. There have been posts on Christianet from men who have been abused. IF you were interested, you would have seen them, and seen that I encouraged the male victims of abuse to leave that abuse and seek therapy. Nobody, male or female has the right to abuse anyone, physically, emotionally, verbally, or spiritually. And, nobody, should have to stay in an abusive relationship. | |

I am also going to suggest that you seek it from a domestic violence shelter, because there you can get guidance about the abusive aspects of your relationship with your husband, as well as explore other areas of the abuse. As a mental health professional, I can certainly say that there is a HUGE difference between verbal abuse and arguing. Since the original poster said VERBAL ABUSE, I would venture to say that she has experienced it, and knows the difference between the two. I have done therapy with verbal abuse VICTIMS and know the devastation that it causes in a person. Pastor Jim, I would love to know what qualifies you to use the title PASTOR, as you certainly lack grace, humility, or empathy, three of the character traits that the pastors of my church have displayed. | |

Once again, the What's Up Blog? has become a political argument blog. Instead of being a place of support and comfort where a believer can go to for prayer and encouragement, it has become a source of bitterness, and strife. I must say, that I have pretty much given up on Christianet. With the exception of a few rational, spiritually minded friends, I have only seen contentiousness. The pity is that the friends I have, as well as myself, have been called names and treated poorly by the contentious ones. Unfortunately, when I look back on the Bush years, and think of lies, I think of several that the Bush administration was responsible for regarding Iraq, and the WMD, and the CIA agent who was outed. It seems that there are a rash of lies about Obama's plans being spread by certain media that is perpetrated by some believers, without weighing what that network says against other media, in order to find balance. Darlene, We have similar clinics in Philadelphia, but the big problem is that if you are working at a day job, and have no insurance, and get sick, you must take a day off from work, without pay, to be seen at the clinic, and then if you need a specialist the wait is long and then another day off without pay. Then, if you have kids, it starts all over, and so on. I have been at both ends of the insurance spectrum, and I just pray for those who are caught where I once was. I did not qualify for Medical Assistance, and I had no insurance but I had two jobs to pay the bills. | |

I will not accept being accused of being a defender of the indefensible. I believe that the lies and false witness that goes on in these blogs in inexcusable for people who claim to believe in Christ, and I have seen way too many lies posted about our current president. I find it fascinating that there are people here who talk about the government's inability to manage things, and handle the enormity of expense of healthcare legislation, YET, these same conservatives saw nothing wrong with our same government managing the trillions of dollars it cost to send thousands of young men and women to a war in a country where there was not imminent threat to us, bringing many of them home dead, or disfigured. Somehow the government was okay handling and managing the defense department, and the slaughter of our young people, BUT not in taking care of the healthcare needs of our citizens here on U.S. soil. Hmmmm. Good for war. Bad for health. I must be missing something. | |
