Did God Create Evil

g,

You need not appologize to me. I merely pointed out the verses.

So I take it you do not believe those verses are the words of God, and that there may be evil that was not created by God. To that premise, I give you another verse...

Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Does this verse make a difference?

Where Is Satan Today

In this verse, "...I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven..." Luke 10:18, we are aware that the Kingdom of God resides both inside and outside of linear time. Yes? Therefore the Holy Spirit resides both inside and outside of linear time: in eternity.

Satan has audience with God so as to accuse the brethren. Would that be possible were Satan to already be cast out of heaven, when viewed strictily from within human limitations of linear time?

We have a tendency to think the "world" is somehow important in the grand scheme of things. Be careful not to diminish Christ's victory over Satan by attaching mere human understanding of time to the realm of God. Eternity ain't limited by the mere ticking of clocks.

Did God Create Evil

g,

Isa 45:6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

I presume your question is rhetorical...? Unless, of course, one does not believe that these are the words of God.

Deadly Anti-Christ Wound

Trav,

I don't want to appear ignorant, but... could you expound on how my comment relates, in any way, to what you've written?

Thanks...

What Is Jesus Waiting For

Jeff,

You wrote: "Jesus will return soon (approx less than 1 year)..."

You sure it ain't exactly less than one year? If you found that in the KJV, you'd think it would be a rather specific reference in order to derive your dating. Could ya elaborate a tad?

Deadly Anti-Christ Wound

Larry,

"Our continent can't even claim we're home to most of the world's Christians as we have lost that title to Africa."

Sounds like stats for the NFL--you ain't keepin' score... are ya? LOL

Deadly Anti-Christ Wound

What I find incomprehensible is that 'Christians' are totally engulfed with trying to figure out who the anti-Christ (beast) is... while not giving a single thought to the False Prophet, who is the one who "...deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast, saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live...."

I'd be lookin' for this critter--if I was lookin' for some individual. Of course, I'm quite satisfied to rely on the Holy Spirit to provide me any insight He feels I might need regarding any evil-doers.

Know Who's The Anti-Christ

Steveng,

According to the verses I posted, ain't nobody gonna know who "the Anti-Christ" is... until he's revealed, according to God's time-table: and anyone who claims to know before then, is a liar. Now that's pretty straight-forward--ain't it?

Know Who's The Anti-Christ

Barbara,

All ya gotta do is read the Bible... and don't put your ID-in' into the hands of man:

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Pretty straight-forward, I'd say.

Must Gospel Be Preached To All

Sandr,

"...They will either die for their faith or raptured alive if they survive the 10 days. After this everyone will simply be Martyrs to have eternal life..." [sic - w/emphasis added]

I assume these Martyrs include some dead Christians. Notwithstanding your 'two-rapture' theory, how do you then reconcile your foregoing statement, which apparently contradicts scripture?

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds...

Can A Priest Forgive Sins

Sometimes it just feels good to make statements that seem "right" from God's perspective--don't it?

From the lips of Jesus (if you believe the Bible is true)...

Lu 11:4 And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.

or...

Lu 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgive him.

A commandment from Jesus? Some food for thought:

Why do we shy from equating our forgiveness of others' sins with God's salvation through Jesus' righteousness? Is righteousness not imputed to us through His?

What Is The US Constitution

While there are some citizens who have read and understand the Constitution, there are but a handful who have read and understand the supporting documents for its creation and revisions into the final signatory draft. The Federalist Papers AND Anti-Federalist Papers give us a virtually irrefutable foundation for every single clause of the Constitution and 1st ten amendments.

But the Supreme Court and other branches couldn't care less what the document actually says or means: or even that it exists, Were the Constitution in force and effect of law, there would likely be but 172 pages left intact after some millions of pages were yanked from the Federal Statutes at Large.

Way too much freedom for us common folk, though.

What Is Reprobate Mind

Terry,

It's not always wise to apply modern English definitions to the Hebrew or Greek scriptures, even if they feel correct.

Reprobate is used once, in Ro 1:28...

reprobate: Gr. adokimos -- not standing the test: not approved: unfit

mind: Gr. nous (from the base, ginosko) -- the mind, comprising alike the faculties of perceiving and understanding and those of feeling, judging, determining

As can be seen above, from Strong's, and by a reading of Ro 1:20-Ro 2:16, there is no mention of any redemption through the erroneous concept of a "pergatory". The only second chance is through the continued faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Can A Priest Forgive Sins

Ya know, Rhonda:

Were you to actually read what is written--at least once in a great while--instead of merely looking for something to piece together for the purpose of providing you a platform from which to argue, you might discover some of the truth.

This is the sentence I wrote, in its entirety... and consequently, in context:

"It's a given that a priest can forgive us of our sins--those committed against him." [emphases added]

Of course, that would apply to anyone--priest or not. (I'll bet you didn't even realize I ain't an RCC adherent: did you?)

Try reading what's actually written--OK? Do it for me. Hey: do it for Jesus.

Can A Priest Forgive Sins

Mike,

It's a given that a priest can forgive us of our sins--those committed against him. Anyone can do so: and as Christians, we are required to forgive sins committed against us.

I think you're confusing man's ability (responsibility) for forgiveness with God's righteousness of His forgiveness of sin, through the death and resurrection of Christ, for our repentance and faith. His grace of salvation for sinners... is His alone.

A priest, however forgiving he might be, cannot get you into heaven... and it don't matter how many Hail Marys you perform for him.

Iron Mountain Report Of 1967

Is everyone around this place a moderator?

How can anyone carry on any discusion when comments aren't posted and those already posted are removed--because they don't fit the "accepted" theories?

Christianet? Freedom in Christ? As I haven't posted a single word of profanity or other marginally acceptable phrasing, I'd really like to know why my comments are either not posted--or are yanked after they do post.

Iron Mountain Report Of 1967

MarkV,

So, we add up 7 weeks and 62 weeks and we get 69 weeks. At the end of 69 weeks, Messiah is crucified. This occured somewhere around 30-35AD. The temple was destroyed in 70AD.

We can see that 70-35(or 70-30) is 35 or 40 years. If those weeks are 7 years each, which is almost exclusively accepted... well, I think you get the point.

The period between the end of the 69th week and the end of the 70th week is obviously longer than a mere 7 years, and is therefore, not a sequential block of time--even if we were to accept that Da 9-26 is referring to the 2nd temple... and not the third temple. So why is it not possible for that period to be 2,000 years, just as the 2 days in Ho 6 are 2,000 years--give or take.

Iron Mountain Report Of 1967

MarkV,

...and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary...

Interesting take you have, how the prince that shall come is Messiah (because the word, naghidh, is used, meaning- ruler: prince: captain: leader: governor: nobles, etc) and that His people shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.

Why would Daniel use the title, Messiah (mashiyach, meaning- anointed one): then follow that with naghidh, as a separate title of lower stature?

Confirm The Covenant for only one week? Covenant, here, confirms Israel's right to rebuild the third temple.

BTW: You are aware that Daniel is written in Hebrew?

Are 10 Commandments In Force

"I am filled with the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I do not need any laws. The Spirit guides me to do God's will. Those who need the law are obviously NOT filled with the Spirit."

I'm guessing, now: that was your answer to my question?

Ro 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God...
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Obviously, there's still law.

"The Bible IS the Word of God, and it does NOT contradict itself IF you are interpreting it correctly."
