Nana, That is a good question. Here are my thoughts: Isa53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many, for he shall bear their iniquities. Christ saw the pain and agony he suffered in satisfying divine justice. Christ saw that the Father was satisfied with his offering. Christ therefore knows that the sin debt has been paid and that we have been ransomed. By his blood our sins were paid upon the cross and we are now declared just before God because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. At least that's the way I see it.

I like the Moderator's comment. Here is some scripture: Pr22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. Pr23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Pr23:14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. By the way, I believe that is refering to a life of hell here on earth. Pr29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. Do you want to look to man or God for wisdom? My brothers and I were spanked and we all turned out to be good Christians.

Pastors Teach Tithing

Tithing is an old testament commandment. The levitical priests did not have land as their inheritance, they had the tithes. Are we still under the law? Do we still need to pay tithes so that the priests can live? We are now under Grace. We are now told to give as the Lord prospers us. (1st Cor 16:2) We are told that our Lord loves a cheerful giver. 2Co9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. One more question: Did the Law ever out give Grace?

Women Teaching In Church

The Apostle Paul is pretty clear on this point. If you don't like what he has to say don't be mad at me. All scripture is given by God. 1Co14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak, but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 1Co14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. Call me a pig if you like. I'm just following scripture.

Who Is Jesus Christ
	Amen! Christ is the eternal Son of God! A friend of mine told me last week that his small grandson asked him "who is Jesus Christ". He then spent about 20 minutes trying to explain Christ. He finally thought he had explained Christ pretty well to the boy. His grandson then asked, "what kind of a pickup does he drive?" Lord bless each of you.

Does God Draw People

Bobby, thanks for the advice. I should try to follow it, but... Michelle, our God is logical. When Christ spoke he spoke in a manner that those that have ears to hear would hear. When he spoke of being born again, do you believe he is throwing all logic out the window? Here some more scripture for you: Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. God is the one speaking by the way. Read the rest of this passage, it's speaking of the new birth. The thorn bushes being made into good trees is a picture of God's people being made good.

	This is exactly what Paul was talking about when he warned of being unequally yoked. This should be a lesson to all you singles. What I am saying is if you are RC marry a RC. If you are a Baptist marry a Baptist, etc.

You did not choose to be born naturally, just as one does not choose to be born spiritually. It is the work of God. John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. You cannot control the wind or the Spirit of God. Is it logical that a man could do a work before he is born? No. First he is born, then he does a work.

The scripture says he made us accepted in the beloved family of God. I like your thinking!

Was Jesus' Blood Required

Yes! Christ's blood was necessary. The high priest, described in the old testament, entered the Holiest of all once a year, and not without blood. Just as this blood was necessary, so is Christ's blood necessary. Heb12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. His blood declares to God that we are redeemed, and that the eternal justice of God has been satisfied.

Healed Us By His Stripes

The scriptures do not say the stripes "on his back". The scriptures simply say by his stripes we are healed. I believe Christ's stripes that heal us were the ones given to him by his Father while upon the cross paying the price for our sins. "Christ is a wonderful physician, he heals by taking the sicknesses of his people upon himself, by bearing their sins, and being wounded and bruised for them, and by his enduring blows, and suffering death itself for them." John Gill

Does God Change
	Mal3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not, therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. 1Ch16:34 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever. The sons of Jacob are the Lord's people. Be glad he doesn't change. Thank you Lord that your mercy endures forever. Thanks be to Christ for his perfect work of salvation!

Jesus With Water Baptism

Baptism is an outward show of what the Holy Ghost has done on the inside. It is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. It is a statement to the world that we are taking up our cross and following Christ. By the way, we are saved by grace. Ro11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Is Faith Before Belief

Yes, faith is a fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22). Through faith we are able to believe. When we are dead in sin it is impossible for us to please God. When we are born again by his Spirit, we then are able to believe his word. Key Verse: Heb11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

How To Speak In Tongues
	I would tell him tongues were for a sign to the Jews that the Gentiles had also been adopted into the family of God. I would then tell him that this sign had ceased. 1Co13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail, whether there be tongues, they shall cease, whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Forced Into Good Works
	Mt12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good, or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. God makes the bad tree good (also see Isa 55:13) Lu22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. As we grow in grace and are converted to the truth we tend to become better Christians.
