Rob, Because the question posed is not asking about believers drinking lethal things, nor of believers laying their hands on the sick to heal them, which is in Mark 16 verse 18: but the question posed is about "speaking in tongues that come from the Spirit", which is answered in Mark 16 verse 17, and therefore I rightly addressed the subject which was asked in providing the right scriptures to this specific topic.

The early English translators supposed the prefix "a-" to the word father and mother and genealogy in this passage meant "without", but in this case it is more accurately translated "with", like the prefix in our english word, "anoint" from the Greek "aleipho" as in Matthew 6:17, which means "with" oil, and not "without" oil. For it is known that both the man Melchisedec, and also the man Christ Jesus, were human and therefore both men have genealogies from Adam. I along with many Jews believe that Melchisedec is the same as Shem, the great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather of Abraham.

Prayerfully in the Holy Spirit. I usually suggest to people to read at least 5 verses before the verse you are pondering and also read at lease 5 verses after the verse you are pondering, and this will help you to understand the verse. Sometimes you will need to read a little more than 5 verses prior and after in order to come to the proper definition of the verse. Ask yourself, whom is the verse addressing? believers or nonbelievers, christians or nonchristians: and what is the subject or theme of the passage? Context is very important when reading scripture, else you could easily be led astray and wrongly attach or wrongly misapply meanings to verses which were never intended to have.

Jim, I know what your saying. Now I do not agree with the "money" thing that alot of TV preachers like Benny does to get hung up on, but I also understand that it costs a lot of money to pay to get yourself a broadcast time on Television. I myself do not watch Benny, nor any other TV evangelist, that wrongly uses scripture to glean money from the audience. Now I know that if these evangelists do not cease fleecing the flock, God indeed will deal sorely with them. Paul set a good example in the scriptures by himself making tents in order to personally support himself: rather than beg the people, or worse yet wrongly use God's word to make people feel guilty, in order to give their money to the preacher.

Pastor Gives Tithes Back
	If I were in a church that a pastor told the people to tithe, I would probably stand and adjure him in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that he is a blind guide and blasphemous sinner in front of all, and I would proclaim that "My Father's house is a house of prayer, but You have made it a den of robbers!"

	Contrary to the world's false-saying, not all people are sinners, for there are two distinct kinds of people and not only one: witnessing there are the sinuous, and witnessing there are the righteous. Why Stay In Church
	Perhaps I do not get enough of bad treatment from the world. So might it be good somehow to go to a church to get beaten up some more from so-called christians?
