| Jesus With Water Baptism | |
Not to discourage baptism, but it is not ours to say what the requirements are. Do you remember Luke 23 at the crucifixion He said to a common criminal "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise". It is doubtful that the man was baptised by water.
| I Am Mad At God | |
Following tragic events to Moses, David, Daniel, Jonah and Jesus something really good followed. It could be that it will happen to you too. I hope so.
| How To Be Close With Jesus | |
One of my favorites right now is Matt 10:27. "What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight, what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs" according to one translation. Ask, then listen to what might be whispered in your ear. Learn to recognize the speaker.
| Is God Cruel And Mean | |
If someone handed you a winning lottery ticket and you lost it, would you say the giver was cruel ? What if it was too inconvenient for you to drag yourself to the location where you could cash in the winning ticket, would you say the giver was cruel ? What if you could not believe that the ticket was a winner (although it was), would you say the giver was cruel or mean ? If you had to pay $20 for the winning ticket would you consider it cruel to have to pay ? Even if you had to pay everything you owned, would you consider it to be cruel if the winning ticket was worth thousands of times more ? Likewise, how can God's actions be considered cruel? No matter the cost to us for following Him, the reward will be infinitely greater.
| Evidence Of 6 Day Creation | |
Right you are Larry. Read Matt 5:6-7. Jesus says to his disciples "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees." They took him literally and thought He was talking about bread. He had to explain to them later, He was not talking about bread. On the 6 days ... can we know ? It it important for us to know ?
| Sheep Of Another Flock | |
The reference to another flock can be found in John 10:16 'I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.' There is no explanation for the meaning of these words like there is for many others. So it must be for us to understand only that there may be other followers somewhere. The "where" must not be a concern for us.
| Believe The Bible Or The Pope | |
1) "admit there have been many corrupt leaders. And that you are so sorry they brought shame to your church." Since one of the original twelve apostles was corrupt and betrayed Jesus leading to His death, does that mean that the original Church deserved shame? "Catholics are mostly interested in defending the Catholic church at all cost" Early Christians also defended their faith - even to the death. Do you find fault in them for that ?
| Believe The Bible Or The Pope | |
2) Mary said (Mark 1:48) "from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed". Doesn't that mean she is still alive?
| Arguments For Evolution | |
I do not profess to know, but only offer what could have happened. Genesis 2 says after 6 days of creation He rested. Are 6 of His days like 6 of our days ? 2 Peter 3 says "With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.". Could the six days of creation have been thousands of our years ? If so, the creation would have looked like evolution and still been the result of an Intelligent Designer.
| Arguments Against Evolution | |
Scientists look at fossils and other replica of former living things which imply to them an evolution. They want to make the human being no better than an automobile. An observer can take similar kinds of evidence for automobiles over the last 100 years and conclude the same way - they have evolved without an intelligent designer. OI course Detroit would be insulted by that assumption.
| Arguments For Creation | |
Scientists say that "matter and energy can be neither created or destroyed". That means that there is no natural way for matter and energy to be created. If you look around, you see that there is plenty of matter and energy that exists. If it could not have been created with natural means, then there must have been a creator with unnatural powers.
| Different Denominations | |
Yes there must be things in common to all Christians, but differences may be OK too. In His day, He asked one person to give all his money to the poor and follow Him. To a centurion He commented about His astonishment for the centurion's great faith. To another who washed his feet with her tears and hair, He said her sins were forgiven. Wouldn't it be a shame if everyone going to the same birthday party brought the same gift ?
| Where Is The Love | |
Seems that a person should be able to tell the difference between a Christian blog and one based on politics or sports.
| Why Is There Pain In The World | |
People frequently make sacrifices to achieve a higher thrill. NFL players for example allow themselves to go thru painful training and practice sessions for the potential thrill of winning football games. Likewise, there is so much more we can do to prepare ourselves for positions on the winning team that really matters. Jesus went through much pain and suffering and asked two of His disciples "Are you able to drink of the cup I drink ?". It is not for everyone, but sometimes happens to test us.
| Are Roman Catholics Christian | |
Are you saying that we should trust your interpretation of the scriptures - and not anyone elses? Aren't you then doing what you criticize the Pope as doing - interpreting scripture for others? During the life of Jesus many of spiritual leaders in the day did not follow Him because they misinterpreted the scriptures and did not realize that the prophesies they knew applied to Jesus. Even His disciples scrambled in fear during His crucifixion - not knowing (until after) that prophesy was being fulfilled.
| Do You Feel God In Your Life | |
Just "found" this one again this morning.... "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."
| Is Peter The Rock Of The Church | |
Jesus said repeatedly to Peter (John 21).... "Feed my sheep". Does not that command indicate some level of authority given to Peter ? If it is wrong to give authority like this to a person, would it be wrong for a child to follow the authority of his parents?
