Lee1538,yes I was speaking of church matters and about husbands and wives relationship with each other and what the Bible says about them in church. It is about order in church. If you are saying I believe men should lead,or one of your so called "weak minded women" you picked the wrong woman. I was saved in a church with a woman pastor,baptised in another church by a woman pastor,the first ones sister by the way,and they had another sister who was a minister as was my own Aunt. I believe the Bible Galatians 3:28 when it says there is neither Jew nor Greek,bond nor free, male nor female,for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. |

Trey, the Bible says study to show thyself approved,rightly dividing the Word of truth. In Bible study you cannot just take verses for what they seem to say,you much do research. All the Bibles I looked to for running references on,keep silent etc,to see what they really are talking about,they refered to Genesis 3:16 which shows it is an order to husbands & wives. It isn't about a woman not speaking but about a woman not usurping the power over her husband plus it is a reminder for a wife to respect her husband and his position in the church,not to bring him shame. |

1 Corinthians 14:34,35 -women should remain silent in the churches.For they are not allowed to speak,but be in submission,as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something,they should ask their husbands at home,for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in church. "As the Law says" the women are under the Law of their husbands doesn't mean any other Law. The reference for that is Genesis 3:16 Your desire shall be to your husband he shall rule over you. The only man women are in submission to is their husbands. This is about order in churches,not male domination,women were yelling across asiles to ask husbands questions,men and women didn't sit on same side. Verse 1 Cor 14,29 says 2-3 prophets speak,women prophets too. |

Bob you're the only other person I have ever heard who has seen that meaning. In doing research years ago I found that verse has been given more meaning than the Bible intended. What I found,it does mean Spiritual healing,redeemed from sin not physical healing. When people would push that at me as "you're already healed by his stripes,claim it" that only made me sorry for them being so mistaken. I never saw anything on this earth one can claim and have right then. I think using that approach has made many people feel "whats wrong with me that I still am sick". God's people have been led down the wrong path so many times by people who mean well. As I see it,if we were already healed then we wouldn't be sick in the first place. |

Eloy Praise the Lord that is the best news I am so glad to hear she is recovering. I know how hard it is to see our Moms sick. Mom had the heartattack in January this year,she's 91 and I stayed with her for 5 weeks but praise God he answered so many prayers for her and she is still able to live in her home alone and doing well. God is wonderful in his love and mercy. |

Who cares about being labeled part of a Remnant. I'm part of God's family and where we fit into that family is clear,we all are to serve our Lord in some way and whatever we need to be for that,God will see that we are perfect for our position. Theres one important thing and that is to live a life pleasing to God aiming to one day be in heaven with him. All we have to do to be part of God's family is to keep his commandments, love God and love your neighhbor, and follow the testimony of Jesus. That's also the discription of what the Remnant in Revelations does. We as Christians must not be led into focusing on one thing,that's a trick of the Devil and it's purpose is to keep us from being productive by keeping our focus off God and His work. |

Cluny I am not saying anything. All I did was to take what the Bible says and put it into modern USA language. As for only Jews called remnant,the Bible shows there are Gentiles under grace called remnant by Paul himself. Romans 11:5,11,13 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.--:but rather through their(Israel) fall salvation has come unto the Gentiles,for to provoke them to jealousy. The Gift is the Baptism of the Holy Ghost the tongues are the evidence of the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,and began to speak with other tongues,as the Spirit gave them utterance. This tells us they all were filled with HG and "began to speak with other tongues". So you see it wasn't a gift of hearing by those who heard them speak,a very good reason it wasn't is because the Gift of the Baptism of HG wasn't on those who were from all the different areas and heard. Remnant,7000 Jews God kept for himself who hadn't bowed to Baal. Paul said in Romans there was a remnant then who were under grace,there's a remnant at the end of world and there's always a remnant who follow no other than God by following the teaching of his son Jesus. They are commited to God,living holy,and being a Spiritual witness for the Kingdom of God. They don't go to left or right but keep on the straight and narrow. You will know them by their love of God and mankind. |

What's happening all around the world is like a cauldron of evil cooking up a brew of destruction which worsens with each heinous act. God inhabits the praises of his people,we need to remember the first thing we must do is be in fellowship with God. As we fellowship,study our Bible,and pray,especially for one-another,and the Kingdom of God we grow nearer to and stronger in God. Yes A 3 strand cord is hard to break,thinking about the strength of many Christians united in faith,a single purpose,pray and touch God. We really would be a force to be reckoned with. Please pray for my husbands brothers family,mine and extended kin,my husbands sister-in-law died and the funeral is Thursday. Brother has been dead for several years. Now nonkinfolks, my Pastor I had 30 years ago lost his daughter-in-law probably in 30s. She took sick and died within a week,his son is the Pastor of a church in Texas and is left with 3 children to raise. The Dad lives on coast of State and son lives near upper State boundry. A dear sister-in-Christ died too,she was 85 and had been sick awhile,left son,grand daughter and ggson,they all lived with her so very close. God Bless |

Bob yes the Lords bond-servant shouldn't be quarrelsome,but it's sad but true anonymity removes selfcontrol. Most people will exercise control over answers to be sure what they present is a vessel fit to belong to God. There are some though who take delight in confrontational exchanges which produce strife and discord. They call people names and even attacking their relationship with God. We are to love one another,1 John 4:7 beloved let us love one another,for love is of God,for everyone that loveth is born of God,and knoweth God. We are Gods family. Family can have differences of opinions and discuss them without causing strife. As Christians we should practice skills in handling things without arousing hostility. God Bless |

Jody it may have caused fear in your area,but not here. I've been in Killeen area since 1942,raised about 2 1/2 miles from Ft Hood,at Moms,you can still hear when FT Hood blows taps for morning and evening. The Army convoys drove right past our home on the way to the Reservation for maneuvers. Bombs and big guns rattle our windows for miles around. I'm not trying to make light of what happened at Ft Hood we're all so sorry about it,but it isn't any worse than Killeens Luby massacre which killed 24 unless its in number injured. I said all that to say,we can't live in fear,life goes on as usual and we trust in God to help us make it through. If God us with us whom shall we fear? My faith in God makes me a force to be reckoned with. |

Jesus "on" the right hand of God not "at" right hand. From "at" to "on" is a different meaning so I did research and found the right hand of God denotes the power of God. Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Matthew 28:18 All power in heaven and earth was given to Jesus it follows Jesus "on" Gods right hand of power Matthew 26:64 Mark 14:62 Luke 22:69, shows God had bestowed on Jesus all his power. Not about Christs location in Heaven. |

Dru that sounds like a great idea. I am in Texas and if I wasn't disabled I might well have been there. Many years ago I attended a Women Aglow Fellowship Internatioal Meeting,it was wonderful,and by the way,in Houston. Women of many denominations from all over the world coming together to love our Lord God. One lady from oversas wanted to come badly but didn't have the money,as she stood at the kitchen sink she looked out over the land and there on a hill was a cow at pasture. She said God you own the cattle on a thousand hills,please give me just one so I can go. God did exactly that,gave her a cow,she sold it for enough to make the trip. Sharing like that builds anyones faith. |
