Is Wearing A Cross Wrong

Some have misunderstood what was asked. The cross is not the problem but wearing a cross that has Jesus still on the cross. Some believe that those who wear that type of cross have not gone to the next step in their understanding of the gospel.Jesus isn't on the cross. He was taken down from the cross, so that He would rise on the third day Easter. Others see it different, that it shows what He did for us ( by hanging on the cross)He paid for our freedom and the cross became our bridge to the throne of God. Either way you wear it with Jesus on the cross or just a plain cross, wear it because you believe in what it represents, the cost of salvation for all the world. The unspeakable Love God has for world. John 3:16

Seventh Day Ellen G. White

I do not understand why some churches pitch the OT tithe even as a model. The New Testament recommends what is known as grace giving- giving to the Lord's work in accordance to how one has been blessed and from what is in ones heart. Our church tells us that ten percent is a 'recommended' contribution and should be viewed only as a goal. While some can met that based upon their income, there are circumstances in which money cannot be given to the Lord's works - things like heavy medical expenses, lack of gainful employment, etc. It is in the spirit of love towards others and God that we give, and clearly the legal tithe is anything but that. Gary is right in that respect.

//You are living proof of the accuracy of Ellen White's connection between a depraved appetite and mental dysfunction. That is often a comment coming from those who simply know that they do not possess the truth from/of the Truth. Ellen White was controversial even during her day and the one fact that stands out is that the majority of those who have left Adventism has done so because of her crazed teachings. It is just unfortunate that the Adventist leadership had to canonize her as a infallible saint of God when it was so obviously that she was not. But the blind that leads the blind often will fall into the nearest ditch.

Romans 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. Frankly it is doubtful that you truly belong to Christ since the Holy Spirit does not dwell within you.

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. While we recognize 'days' in this verse refer back to the creation 'days', there is nothing in the verse that speaks of their duration. However, the word 'day' took on a totally different meaning after the sun was created during the 4th 'day of creation. There was a sunrise and sunset after the 4th day and that became what we came to understand as a 'day'. Obviously the first 3 'days' had diffferent characteristics. Sorry that the truth is driving Warwick off the edge but that is what happens when ones' pet beliefs are proven invalid.

	It is apparent that Warwick in his wars against other Christians is really become more and more delusionary. Perhaps he should seek professional counselling as soon as possible before he really harms himself. It is unfortunate that some on this forum have mental problems and turn themselves in crackpots.

It is really more exactly what is referred to as an euphemism - a word used to describe something in less offensive terms. God will bring with him those who have died. Jerry It is apparent that you also are a good tap dancer, but it is also apparent that you are no scientist, and have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to evolution. Where is the requirement for one to be a scientist in order to understand the theory of evolution? While you may have a degree in Physics, it has been obvious that you have never taught the subject nor kept up with the latest theories in physics. Cluny - none of the listings you provided are really "doctrines" of the church, with the exception of OSAS which is something many people have little or no understanding of what is involved in soteriology.. It is true that some would discount the passage of scripture that states "he (Jesus) is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25, there are those who believe God has very slippery hands and cannot hold unto those whom He had called to be the Elect.

I often wondered if old Ellen had not gotten so bogged down in the Old Testament and got into the study of the New Testament, she would have discounted her visions and recognized that 'Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light' 2 Cor. 11:14, and that if 'an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed', the church of Christ would not have to content with her teachings today.

If you had even done a study on cults (or the occult), you would see that it was an 'angel' that visited old Joseph Smith and gave him the golden plates that allegedly was the Book of Mormons. And was it not visits by an angel that gave inspiration for EGW? Sorry Jerry, but EGW fits neatly into that same category. In simple terms what both she and Joe taught was simply another Jesus and a different gospel than what the saints of the church has taught over the centuries.

Remarrying After A Divorce

obewan Lk. 16:18 Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery. I have often wondered if what Christ really stated is if someone divorces his wife with the intent of marrying another commits adultery. While sexual infidelity is all too often the grounds for divorce, there are those that simply decide they no longer desire to be married and leave the wife and children. I seen that in my own church and the elders removed him from the membership - something rarely done in the church today. I believe the Lord has given some authority to His church to decide these cases. At least, that seems to be the historical precedence.

Can Women Remarry
	Yes, Carla all too often your arguments are really without much foundation in truth. 2 Cor. 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.

Why Did God Give Us The Bible

thank you nana, the point I tried to make is whether or not shows love towards God by the way one tries ones neighbor. This is in contrast to those who believe one must love God and love ones neighbor. They do this in order to justify obedience to OT commands that have nothing to do with love of neighbor. The fact is, is that Romans 13:9-10 clearly states the fulfillment of the law is love of neighbor. For those born of His Spirit, love of God is a given and really does not need to be a command to the believer.

Was Paul the Apostles who was also a Jesus lover a lawless person? 1 Cor. 9:21 To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. Your comments slamming Christians seem to indicate you know neither the scripture nor its Author.
