Claim You Are Christian

MarkV, thank you. Point taken. There can be discussions over doctrine and cults but the quarreling is usually related to politics which has no common ground with Christ. We've been drinking Satan's Kool-Aid to believe we can be a conservative or liberal Christian instead of simply a Christian. You can be conservative and religious but Christian mixed with anything doesn't work and we usually use one to justify the other. Christ stands alone. The postulate posed is excellent and leads each to examine his own heart starting with me. Thank you again and God bless.

Will America Be Destroyed

Yes Donna, but we have moved again to the top of the list of the most admired nation. This is due in part to Obama's magnatism and the substance of President Bush. Thought rarely given credit President Bush did more for the continent of Africa than any president in American history and we have the highest admiration on the continent of Africa. President Obama is largely floating on his potential where even in disagreement most reasonable people will admit he is very easy going and likeable. There is something good about each and every one of our presidents for which thanks to God is due. It should be remembered that Christ did not seek or praise admiration from nations.

Must Gospel Be Preached To All

We can discuss the interpretation of the following scripture, but I'm not sure why anyone would suggest its not possible to for the Gospel to be preached to all before Christ returns. Did you forget who your father is? Christians shouldn't even be thinking of what can't be done. "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations, and then shall the end come." That settles it for me.

While there is both good and bad in our health system, I do know there are no H1N1 vaccine lines in the U.K. The groups who are mostly at risk are called first with appointments in an orderly system. There are no shortages or horror stories about Goldman Sachs and other Wall Street firms having a special stash. Some would have you believe their are lines in the England and most of Europe for almost all needed health care. Don't believe it for a minute.

Illegals Work In The USA

Good point both Jim and Nurse Robert. If businessmen who hire illegal workers were jailed and those caught at the border were deported no one could claim the policy was unfair. Those who favor only one side of the policy would immediately be exposed as "phony" and dismissed from the discussion. Christians of course have an entirely different take on the foreigner. While we are not to endorse law breaking for God has ordained governments and laws, we are to treat these new people kindly, giving them what they need physically and spiritually for this is the witness of our father and savior. Get them saved. Let the pagans politicize the issue.

Its hard to say, because as we read in Corinthians no one knows the heart of the man but the man. It may have been terrorism and an act against the US and the American military or he may have been opposed to the war for religious reasons and was simply motivated by Satan to act out his wicked heart. Hassan probably morphed from an intelligent officer to a hateful opposer of the very institution that provided him a career over a number of years. Humans are complicated souls though its easier to explain our ugliness with label and simple name-calling. Prayer warriors know just "labeling" him a terrorist resolves nothing since the problem is demonic strongholds that cannot be defeated by profiling.

Will America Be Destroyed

The moderator is correct though I believe there is a general misunderstanding about God's role int the destruction of a nation. God's role in destroying nations involved his own rebellious people in the theocracy of Israel or nations that physically threatened Israel. In the United States we've simply put God on a shelf and will face the consequences of having gone our own way. We won't be destroyed by God but by the lack of God on our daily lives. "If you really believe we're headed for a depression Precious Metals makes even more sense." was a response to the errant suggestion the "wisest" investment would be stocks and commodities, and the general misunderstanding about the role and personality of the Federal Reserve. I have previously warned against the kind of knee-jerk sky-is-falling-in bunker mentality of Jim Bakker and other charlatans. We can be wise about investments but know ultimately our lives are in the hands of a holy and most powerful God. Agreed.

Thoughts On Jakes And Hinn

Hinn seems a little wacky but Jakes is very good at freeing those who are in bondage through Christ. He challenges folks who are holding on to past hurts and wounds to seek healing through Christ and lets them know not only can Christ heal your past but that its necessary so you can be in a position to help others. I haven't seen but heard his efforts and movies concerning abused and angry women but understand they've been very helpful. I haven't heard much from Hinn lately. Does anyone know if he still blows people over with his coat or are those reruns?

Nurse Robert, don't waste your time with the "birthers" and please see the issue for what it is..the inability to accept Obama as a legitimate president of the United States. Its deep-seeded in anger and anger is an attempt to control. The vapid and specious argument suggesting a co-conspiracy by the State of Hawaii, its Republican governor, and two separate newspapers that lied about the delivery of a single 19-year old white woman that knew 47-years later her son would become president is laughable. Crazy government spending has been okay for decades, and voters and consumers are ultimately responsible for the unbridled greed. Congressmembers work for for us and have spent like crazy because we'd rather watch Ultimate Fighting instead of checking the voting record of our congressmembers. Its pathetic. To blame our condition on an institution is a cop out. Accountability with God and therefore with us should always be the individual. Good question.

Trav, your spin on Zipporah exceeds anything I've heard on the so-called savings with health care reform. You've missed the entire lesson behind Moses marrying a dark-skinned African. The lesson for Miriam and apparantly you is that if God's blesses something its not your business to speak against it. Miriam was not punished for opposing the world's first recorded interracial marriage, she was punished for speaking against what God approved. Consumers will lead the country into another depression by purchases or the lack thereof. The government does NOT print money, the Fed prints money and the Fed is PRIVATE. Third, avoid commodities unless you already have quality stock (Google) or a commodity (Oil), and instead go to precious metals. Gold and Silver are soaring and paper is well, paper. Why fool around with commodities and a 15-28% Capital gains when Gold/Silver is a non-reported asset (not on your 1040) and has no capital gains. If you consider Gold was under $800 in January and about $1100 now who wants to fool around with CD's or anything else that offers 2-3%. Puleeze.

You are scared because you lack faith. You can't kind of trust God, either you do or you don't. He is understanding of our frailties so ask him to forgive you for your unbelief but be serious. By continuing to entertain Satan you are telling Jesus he is a fraud. Perfect love cast out fear and so we have two problems. 1. You don't believe perfect love cast out fear. 2. Because you don't believe what Christ said, you won't accept what he said and ultimately what he did. Jesus doesn't share the stage with fear. He'll quietly remain backstage until you move to do otherwise.

Obewan, I was just praying for your health. No reasonable person believes we can recover with Texas and other large states boasting 25% uninsured rates. Those who have insurance pay for the uninsured anyway, what are they drinking to think doing nothing will hold down their own costs? The sky is not even the limit. When emergency rooms are as crowded as Giant stadium some one will pay attention. Who on this blog who could afford a 12-20 thousand dollar premium each year if their employer didn't offer insurance? And believe me prices will get high enough where insurance will be your own responsibility. The conservative Heritage Foundation believes premiums will exceed $20k for a family policy in just a few years, what then?

Alan, I was being facetious with the anti-government wing nuts who hypocritically both demand government crack down on abortion and IGNORE Romans 13:1-2. Actually Obewan's last entry says it all and that brother is going on my prayer list right now. But for the grace of God...... I will admit the current health care bill stinks and itself needs to be reformed, but just opposing all health care reform just because the government involved is short sighted. Its like saying we don't need FedEx and UPS because we have the Post Office.

Thanks for the question Jim. The problem is math. In Texas 25% don't have health care. By 2016 that figure should be somewhere between 35-40% as costs force full-time employers to drop health care. The 75% now pays for the 25% and the number of those without health care keeps increasing? I will go with you Jim that the Dems plan is full of pork, wackiness and waste, but the poor and uninsured aren't going away. You are correct that Pelosi and Reid don't have much credibility, but the republicans who did nothing over the last 8 years to lower costs have even less. Railing against government is not a solution for a $14,000 family deductible, so what are we to do?

NurseRobert, you seem not to understand the obvious. Health care is cheap and government (ignore Romans 13:1-2) is all bad. I agree with Donna, Karen and Rhonda there is too much government in our lives. The first thing we'll do is get government out of our lives on abortion, gay marriage and polygamy. I don't want the government to take away my guns and if I want to marry another guy or three women its none of the government's business. Solomon had 2000 wives why can't I have four? All of the stupid government regulations on food, drugs and even elevators just create more beauracracies and business expense. Its not the governments business to make sure I get to the top of Sears Tower safely. Are you coming around?
