	there ia nothing bad if a pastor know how much you tithe becos he represent God

	to lawrence so which is the sabbath, saturday or sunday? and as for the tithe, you give because you want to give not you are forced to give. there is a difference.

tithe is exploited & perverted. here is my experience. you will hear televangelist & pastors that tithe will prosper you bec. of the statement 'the doors of heaven will open & you will have no room for it'. and when it does not work for you they will say 'ye lack faith'. another is we are not under the law but they continue to preach malachi which is in the OT law. the 3rd commandment says Remember the sabbath which they recognize as a law, but it says REMEMBER. when it comes to money, preachers do not recognize it as law while others they do.

	NO ONE knows when is christ coming back. he said it himself that no one knows except the father the mark of the beast has not happened yet, so 2011 or 2012 is another way to make money

pastor jim after adam & eve sinned, god did not burn them up right away. his goodness promised a savior. and before the flood, he gave us sinners 120 years to turn around and repent. and he found favor with noah. (is noah perfect & sinless?) even david after he sinned, god still fulfilled his promise. romans 2:4 or do you think lightly of the riches of his kindness & tolerance & patience not knowing that the kindness of god leads you to repentance? people become believer because they want & need to repent & not forced to repent

Mega Churches Have Mega Pastors

god is just a way to make big profits & personal financial gain the millions of $$$$ they are collecting, they can help those who lost jobs, in need & suffering but these televangelist mega pastors know how to manipulate the bible. and this is how they manipulate & exploit when the money goes into their church, they quote the book of malachi 'give your 10% & god will bless you that you do not have room etc etc...' when the money goes out of their church, 'brother, I will pray for you'.

	yes you can grow your faith when you see the grace of god. god's grace is rich in mercy. the message I heard last sunday was sin judgement grace everytime man chooses to do his own thing, & commits sin, god's grace is rich to give us another chance. when those who see it, they trust him more completely. but there are those who deliberately ignore it.

	John was referring to Revelations only? what about the books of maccabees, apochripa? aren't they added to the bible?

	to jack B that is totally correct. we respond out of his grace, his favor & kindness & not through fear, guilt, shame, & blame. but many churches use the tactic of fear in christianity

	the parable of the great banquet when god invited the sick, lame, blind, outcast, poor. even if these people had committed sins, god is still merciful & kind to forgive those who seek him. it is his favor that make us choose to seek & give thanks to him

there are reasons why prayers are not answered is bec. there are ignorant christians who instead of becoming a stepping stone, they are a stumbling block a blind man cried out to christ for healing but the people around him said 'shut up'. christ said that you faith has healed you. another is when a believer ask for a fish they are given a snake. christ saw a crippled woman & he healed her but it was on a sabbath. a synagogue leader said that 'it is unlawful to heal on a sabbath.' when believers ask for something, other who are self righteous believers would say 'that is not biblical' or points to sin.

	what about John 9:1-12 the disciples asked 'who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' what about the book of job? job's so called friends insisted that job sinned that is why he is suffering

your own conscience? malachi 2:7-8 for the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, & men should seek instruction from his mouth FOR HE IS THE MESSENGER OF GOD. but as for you you have turned aside from the way & have caused many to stumble by the instruction. didn't christ rebuke the pharisees & they still refuse to see the grace & love of god. and even before the prodigal son repented the father ran & showed his love & compassion. I have learned plenty from the bible that a pastor did not teach me. and when I found the truth it did set me free.

to geraldine god says that he does not look the outside of a person but the inside. it is hard for me to share verses in the bible that would help those who are in need without judging them. I too was treated by a pastor who pointed to sin just because I asked him a question regarding self confidence & was in bondage. a topic or issue is very complex & life is complex. that is why christ was healing, showing the love of god because he understood what people are going through.

to pastor jim christ was not gentle with the pharisees & other religious people who causes stumbling in people's lives. he was angry at the pharisees & told them that their teachings are causing people difficulty in knowing the love of god. one example is the healing on the sabbath & a synagogue leader said that it is unlawful to heal on the sabbath but christ said that this woman was suffering for 18 years. there plenty of cases like that, the pharisees, synagogue leaders would point to sin right away when christ has another answer to man's suffering.

	to pastor jim 'god is at war with you' in corinthians, if god is love, then god is patient, kind, not selfish,... and in the parable of the prodigal son, christ described god as a father who is waiting for his son to change his decision & when he saw him, he ran towards him & showed his compassion & love.

hi lynn pt1 don't be discourage, bec that is the same situation that goes on in every church. ironic it is, christianity is relationship but the sad part about it is there are dozens of 'works, do's & don't' not really relationship, person to person contact. I have the same problem in all the church I've gone I feel the same aloneness. and you feel is you have to be perfect & not be the person god wants you to be to have a REAL relationship with other believers. another sad part about it is they give you 1 verse in the bible hoping to solve all the problems you have overnight.

	another dangerous preacher is Pat robertson he makes prediction of the coming year that does not happen. he has 100s of millions of dollars coming in & will use the same tactics of guilt shame, blame & fear.

to cluny I am not attacking your position with regards to papal infalliability. my questions are merely why is there mary & why is she worshipped? why are there idols in the catholic church? this violates the 2nd? commandment of you shall not worship any gods before me? is there really purgatory? these are just valid questions. these questions in relation to the papacy, how can the pope be questioned regarding these teachings if he is not wrong?
