Do You Rebaptise

No need to rebaptize. As scripture says, "One Faith, One Baptism." If you leave the church for whatever reason and you return, no "recommitment or rebaptism" is going to stop you from leaving again. Like you said, if you were truly baptized as a teen that very statement can be followed up with the One Faith, One Baptism verse. His first baptism was and still is valid. Since he left and came back, his place in the church is restored and his sins forgiven. For that is what the life of a Christian after baptism is all about.

Steal From God With Tithes

I love yall.
Abraham and Jacob were the first to tithe in the bible and they were not instructed by God to do so, nor did it state they made a habit. God made it mandatory and agricultural to care for the levites and Aaron. Tithing now was part of the law at this point for the levites, widows, fatherless, poor and you. Mark 5:17-18. The law has been fullfilled by Jesus. Let us give from our purposed hearts now. The malachi curse was for the levites not the people. Read the whole book. The windows of heaven produce rain literally, for crops. All that agricultural stuff that the bible spoke of in malachi was not a metaphor. I love yall.

Jews Really God's Chosen

Israel does not mean people of Jewish descent.
Galatians 3:29 "if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."
Israel is the whole collection of believers in God, Jew and Gentile.
This does not change the fact that they received the law and prophets first. God showed his grace to them before the he did to the Gentiles, but God is "the God of the Gentiles too." Romans 3:29

James Robison Ski House

Mark:

James would "look like world" if he was poor like those in "China... Africa, any Muslim controlled country, or anywhere outside of the "western" world."

We are not all given the same amount of money by God. Look at the parable of the talents. Some are trusted with little, some with much, but we're all responsible for what we've been given. Judging others for what they are given (and that is what you're doing, no matter how much you deny it) is not our concern.

I doubt you are close to James, so how can you know his heart? King David lived in a mansion. He had servants. He was rich! Was he a man after God's heart? By your standards, no. But by God's, he was.

At what level of income is he "denying" himself? $10,000 a year? $100,000 a year? $1,000,000 a year? Please tell us all how to conform to that verse, which never mentions money, and put a dollar amount on it.

I don't read that Mr. Robinson didn't want the money. You are putting words in his mouth. You are right when you say "it is about faithfulness with what He has given to us." You seem to think that you are the judge of that, though. You are not. Neither am I. The judgement seat is made for one person, but it seems really crowded in this forum.

Cain And Abel Wifes

Evolution by natural selection avoids all of these nasty and interminable debates. None of you has any more authority to "read into" the bible than the other. Perhaps god is smarter than all of us, already devising an elegant solution that does not rely on fantastical myths.

Can Satan Hear My Prayers

I dont know that the bible exactly and with certain specificity addresses this first topic. However, I believe the bible is quite clear on the mode and scope (or limit thereof) of satan and we can draw some definitive conclusions from that. You see, in order us to say that satan can hear our verbal prayers inherently do we mean he can hear all prayers? If that answer is yes then that would imply he is omnipresent, which is a quality only attributed to our Glorious Lord GOD.

Anti-Christ Is Coming

I do not believe that Obama is the "Anti-Christ" of Revelations...yet. Most biblical scholars believe that this Anti-Christ will rise out of Rome when it somehow becomes a great nation again. How this is going to happen, I don't know. However, we are seeing the world start to come together and form a Global government. Will this have anything to do with Rome? Is there gonna be some kind of Roman influence? Who knows...One thing I do know, is when the temple is being rebuilt in Israel, we will need to keep our eyes open, and ready for the anti-christ to show his face. The bible says he will speak great words against God and the Saints. Obama isn't doing this...yet.

Caught My Husband Cheating

The bible talks about forgiveness, it also talks about infidelity. As a Christian, I'm not sure why you would put up with your husband cheating on you. God wants you to forgive so you don't harbor hate, but He also wants you to have respect for yourself.

I know it's hard with your kids involved, but I personally think a relationship based on infidelity is destined to fail.

Trust your instincts,

Brian

Can A Woman Be A Bishop

GOD says he is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, just because we change, His word dose not, as for apostasy in the Church- if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem, how could you refer to yourself as being a part of the body of Christ and compare it to two ships passing in the night? How will the body benefit from your gifts?

Need Encouragement Scripture

i need help im a young black man that is extremely lost, i currently attend college, have bills that i can't control, im extremely lonely, i have a house but not a home, and in my moments of prosperity i usually wind up a million steps back the our direction. adversity has become my permanent state,

Is Harold Camping Correct

Do false prophets know they are false prophets? I don't believe Mr.Camping is knowingly a false prophet but genuinely believes he has gained truth from the Bible via continuing revelation. Its my belief that Mr.Camping has been as faithful as possible to the entire Bible unlike my church. When was the last time a preacher taught from the book Obadiah? Incidentally, I attend a very conservative church and have become increasingly disturbed by the gradual but constant falling away from what the Bible clearly teaches! I used to wear my Sunday best to church. Now the fad is to wear your favorite NFL team jersey. Can anyone out there relate to what Im saying?

Pay Off Debts Or Pay Tithes

God is more concerned about our obedience to Him, and he tells us that we should be giving him the first fruits of what we earn. In the OT, that meant 10 percent of crops/herds. Today, if you read 2 Corinthians 9:6-11, you will see that cheerfulness is more important than percentage. Give generously according to the Spirit, and do it cheerfully. Also read Malachi 3:6-12. Withholding the tithe is considered robbing God, and a curse is the result. God issues a challenge to the Jews to test him regarding tithes. Also, various passages in Proverbs discourage getting into debt, so that should never happen. Since some people are in debt, though, they must obey the Bible in how they deal with it, and tithing is still expected.

Not Fit For The Kingdom Of God

This parallels what James says about being double-minded. To be double-minded is to be a little (or a lot) unsure that God's promises and provision are all we need. That somehow we're missing out on life.

And that's what Jesus was saying in this passage. We aren't effective in the Kingdom of God when we look back to our old ways and false comforts, like the Israelites in the desert with Moses complained that they were better off in Egypt.

If we say yes to Jesus but later doubt that he is all we need now and in the future, then we can't help people know the deep things of God.

The good news is, Jesus gives us grace, forgiveness, and strength to move forward! We don't have to live in the desert of double-mindedness!
