I agree with kathr4453. Books may at time be tools used of the Lord, but many become too dependent upon self help books and totally miss out on a moment by moment relationship with the Lord, which is, by the way to pray without ceasing, to seek Him in all things at all times. I have not arrived yet, but my hope is in Him who works in me to do according to His good purpose and I trust that He who began a good work in me WILL bring it to completion in the day of Christ Jesus my Lord.

Must True Christians Mature

Spiritual maturity is a manifestation of the Lords working within a christian, and one must be saved to develop TRUE spiritual maturity. However, there are countless immature christians, many newly saved, many have been saved for some time. all saved are babes for a time. Many mature at different rates, and in differnt ways.I believe Paul speaks of some who ought to be taking in the meat of the word, but instead, require milk, indicating that these are saved people that needed correction/guidance to grow in christ.

Daughter Afraid Of Driving

I have an 18 year old daughter, also graduating this year, who does not have her liscense for the same reason. As she matures, she needs to take more responsibility for herself, and i no longer provide rides except for some essentials. She needs to make her own arrangements for social activities, and it is not always possible. Consequently she is developing a desire to overcome her fear and assume the responsibility. Pray about the fear too.

In my experience, which is extremely limited, I've known more catholics then protestants and with the exception of clergy, I've only known 1 Rcc who consistently read her bible...my paternal grandmother. However, many more protestants I've known read the word and put it into practice, including most of my mothers family.

As others have said, our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. As for self esteem, we as christians have our esteem in who God says we are, His chosen, his loved ones and so much more. 	I can sympathize with you, but i want to caution you to examine your motives. We may seperate for fasting and prayer, in other words to seek God/draw closer to Him...then we can see more clearly. To seperate for other reasons, as with "good" worldly counsel, is often manipulative and thus of impure motive. I've been guilty of that myself, so bore no lasting fruit. Bless you.
