How To Properly Spank My Kids

Big Name Evangelists
	Big name evangelists are subject to the laws that others are subject to. If they try to wriggle out of filing tax returns, answering questions required by law about finances etc. they could end up in jail. I agree with you that refusing to give the information is a very bad witness to others.

Do End Times Scare You
	We are seeing prophesy being fulfilled regularly now and should be delighted. It helps prove to the sceptical that the scriptures are correct and shows us that God is in control.

Witnessing Without Speaking
	Yes we can and many Christians witness mainly through their actions rather than by words most of the time. People observe us and look out for our slip-ups. They also notice when we do good things for our neighbours and even strangers. Often our actions prompt questions and then that leaves the door open for witnessing.

Magdelene's Seven Demons
	Nowhere in the bible do we read that Mary Magdalene was an adulterous woman. Many people seem to have been taught this and this is implied in films about bible stories but it wrong to spread such a story when there is no evidence. The bible does say that Jesus cast out 7 demons from her though.

Joyce Meyer's Is A False Teacher

I agree with Laurie. Joyce Meyer is not accurate in everything she says and her style of delivery is not to everyone's taste but I don't think she comes in the same category as the people we normally refer to as 'false teachers'. Some years ago I fell away quite badly, not by doing wrong things but by just losing interest in my bible. I still went to church but not with any keenness. We had just god the God channel and there was Joyce Meyer. It was through listening to her that I found a new interest in my bible. These days I don't watch her at all but she certainly served a purpose in my life. God uses her, of that I have no doubt.

Rapture Of The Church
	I don't believe that the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ are the same event. The Rapture will happen before the Tribulation and Christians will not live through the Tribulation i.m.o. I used to be taught that they were the same event and many churches do teach this. It is best to read the appropriate scripture and think about it all for yourself.

Must Pastors Be Educated

It depends what you mean by 'educated'. Providing the man is born-again, has studied the bible and understands its teachings himself and can get up speak coherently I see no reason why he cannot preach. Being a preacher and being a pastor are not the same thing though. To become a pastor of a church he would need to learn more than how to compose a sermon and present it. Theological colleges are not just to teach a person about the bible but also how to be a pastor.

Did Adam And Eve Incest
	Incest, as we understand it, was not an illegal act UNTIL God said "don't do it that way any more" and He didn't say that for quite a long time so although Adam and Eve's children 'were fruitful and multiplied' with each other (brothers with sisters) there was absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Church Sells Music & Books

I don't think the verse in scripture about the temple being made a den of thieves is connected in the slightest way to churches selling Christian merchandise. The money exchangers in the temple were dishonest. There is nothing dishonest about selling books and music. Books and music cannot be made without someone spending money. If people did not spend money to write and print books and to write and record songs, they would not be there for us to enjoy and to be blessed by. They have to be mainly sold because they are people's livelihood but the profit should be fair.

Fighting Over Our Finances

Has he never taken seriously the idea of supporting his family? Had you not been working before he would have had to pay all the bills throughout all your marriage. Different couples manage money differently and there are no rights and wrongs but for your interest:- I worked only for 3 years after marriage and, during that time, all my pay went in the bank and his pay was used for the bills with none left over. When children came along there were no more savings for over 20 years. (We have a large family). Then I worked again for a few years and that extra money paid for repairs to house etc. that we could not afford before.There has to be some sort of plan that works but him keeping most of his for himself isn't a plan, its just mean.

Discipline My Daughter

Your husband is most certainly a control freak if he has said all this. Being submissive does not mean agreeing with every word he says. As he is refusing communion with you now it might be a good time to bring your pastor into the discussion. This is not normal Christian behaviour.

Women Useful For Church

What do you actually mean by he does not let the women do much in the church. What is it they are allowed to do and what are they not allowed to do? There are churches that very graciously 'allow' women to do the things that the men would not wish to do anyway e.g serve food and wash the dishes or run the creche but there are churches that allow women to teach Sunday school but maybe not teach boys once they reach a certain age etc. What are the differences between the man's role and the woman's in your particular church. If the difference is offensive to women I wouldn't stay but give the pastor chance to let you know why he has made the decisions that he has made and take it from there.

	Mima, what do you mean by 'sprinked a manwith the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ'? Are you referring to literal blood (and if so where did it come from) or are you saying that they pleaded the blood Christ whilst praying for the man?

Candidate For The Christians
	Thanks Donna, that makes it slightly clearer but I'm surprised that people can vote for anyone they want - even those not on the ballot paper. Your elections are more different from ours than I realised. I think ours are easier to understand and they don't go on for as long.

Pay Off Debts Or Pay Tithes
	God knows our circumstances and He does not want us to be in debt. Pay off your debts as quickly as is humanly possible and make an offering to God in line with what you can afford. God honours those who honour Him.

Most Christians Don't Help

I've had much practical help from Christians in times of need over the last 30 or so years and most of it has come from unexpected quarters. Those I thought most able to help didn't and those who seemed to need to be helped themselves just rolled up their sleeves and got on with what was necessary when I couldn't. That is Christian love in action.There are so many ways in which a Christian can help a brother/sister in Christ. Some of it costs money, some costs time and some needs prayer. We are all equipped to help in different ways because God made us all different and put us in different circumstances but, if we withhold the help that God has equipped us to give, He will hold us responsible for not helping.
