Contemporary Christian Music
|
| |
I listen to contemporary Christian music - and by the Grace of God, I sing contemporary music as part of a choir at my church! What an awesome blessing! The best contemporary music I know are the songs where a deep longing for the Lord is expressed - a heartfelt starving for His presence, His closeness, His majesty!! It's an absolute honor and joyful pleasure to praise His name in song!! Listen to Contemporary Christian music and allow the Lord to continue His work in you! |

Pastor Has Bad Habits
|
| |
There is a war between spirit and flesh! We must always be on guard for Satan and his evil ways! Pray that the pastor changes his ways but don't let his fruit corrupt your fruit! Deep prayer!! Stay in the Word!! Keep in contact with believers!! Leave the church if your walk with the Lord is affected! |

Sons Of God Fallen Angels
|

I have been studying this for a long time and can not conclude any other explanation except Angels and human women.Jude 1 6-7 makes it crystal clear, that Sodom and Gomorrah went after strange flesh just like the angels in Gen6.Read it a few times until you get it.Blessings. |

No Peace As A Christian
|
| |
"Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey."
Having no peace is a result of having no intimacy with God. You may be a Christian, but if you have no intimacy with God (which he desires with you) then he will not let you have peace. Obedience is the key to intimacy with God. You cannot have intimacy with him if you do not obey his Word. Read Psalm 119:9. But in order to obey his Word you must know his Word. Read Psalm 1 tonight. And perhaps read it a few nights in a row for a while. |

Let's be clear, Eph.4:5 Paul declaires there is one baptism in this Christian dispensation. Mk.16:16 is a command that conjoins belief and baptism to salvation. Holy Ghost baptism was a promise made to His apostles and was fulfilled at Pentecost. Seen only one other time at the household of Cornelius, the first Gentiles, this was to prove to Peter and the six brethren which accompanied him that God was granting repentance unto life to the Gentiles. In the Galatian letter Paul declares,"For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ." "As many of you" is all inclusive as well as exclusive. |

When Do We Go To Heaven
|
| |
Did you read the scriptures I gave? I agree with what you are saying concerning all those whom you mentioned. I was only referring to those who live in this Christian dispensation. The righteous dead of the Patriarchial and Moseic dispensations wait in Hadeas, (paradise), for the "last day", at which time we will all be together in the presence of God. Please read the scriptures I gave and let me know what you think. |

When Do We Go To Heaven

Using the plain language from 1Thess.4:13-18 and 2Thess.1:6-10, and 1 Cor.15:50-55, we can discern plainly that the dead in Christ,(sleep),awaiting the resurrection, immeadiately following the living will put on thier bodies fit for eternity, at which time also those who "no not God or have not obeyed the gospel of Christ" will be sent to "eternal punishment". This state of sleep has no sense of time therefore if you've been dead 2000 years or a day you won't no the difference. Paul in 1Cor.15 likens the soul to a seed which is dorment, when the conditions are right it is made alive. When Christ comes for His church, that's it. |

Paul's concern for these believers was weather or not they had recieved the Holy Ghost yet. Upon discovering that they had no knowledge of the Holy Ghost he asks about thier baptism. When he understood that they had not been baptized "into Christ" he teaches them and baptizes them "into Christ".Until they were taught and baptized they were yet in thier sins and could not have been saved. "Repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost.(Act 2:38). Not the miraculous gifts, which he gave them after by the laying on of his hands, but the knowledge of thier salvation from sin by the Holy Ghost. |

Bruce Thankyou for your response. Yes a disciple by definition can be one that is "saved" but also one who is in the process of being "saved". The context is plain concerning the two accounts, Apollos and the Ephesian "disciples". The subject is baptism into Christ. John's baptism could not accomplish remission of sins since John did not die for our sins. Sin is what separates us from God. Remission of sin's is accomplished when the believing, penitent, sinner obeys our Lord's command,(Mk. 16:16) to be baptized. The apostles were commanded to baptize believers,(Matt. 28:19), which they did (Acts 2:38), which teaches that baptism is for the remission of sins. |

Bruce5656, You have acts 18 and 19 pretty close to right, if I could make a small correction. Appolos knew only the baptism of John, Aquilla and Pracilla took him aside and instructed him in the "way more perfectly", obviously concerning baptism into Christ. Paul comes to Ephesus and finds "disciples" probably taught by Apollos. Disciples are not neceessarily saved as the word means learners or followers. When Paul finds out they knew only the baptism of John he baptizes them in the name of or by the authority os Jesus Christ. After which he lays hands on them conferring the miraculous gifts of the Spirit to them that the church at Ephesus coul be edified as it was just being established. |

Offended By Women Pastors
|
| |
I can't speak for all men.I would not reject the teaching of a women preacher if what she preached was according to the scriptures. Yes I would have to leave my congregation if a woman were to preach as it is forbidden for them to speak, (teach) in the church,1Cor.14:34-35, 1Tim. 2:11-15. |

Does Purgatory Exist
|
| |
Purgatory is taken out of Luke 16:23, it was called Abraham's bosom. It was a holding place for those who had died before Christ died on the cross for our sins. The atonement had not yet been paid, until Christ died. When Jesus died, he was in the grave for 3 days and descended into hell, took death and the grave captive and released those who were there, so they could live with him in heaven. In Isaiah 5:14 and I'm trying to find the other verse that says:Therefore hell hath enlarged herself. Abraham's bosom no longer exists. Hell has enlarged herself. If you don't make heaven the first time, there is no second chance. |

Is Gambling A Sin
|
| |
Bettyw-What about Matthew 27:35, Mark 15:24,Luke 23:34,John 19:24,Acts 1:26: all mention casting lots. What is casting lots, if it isn't a form of gambling. They believed that God could direct the outcome of even casting lots. Why did they cast lots for the replacement of a apostle. And they gave forth their LOTS, and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles. Acts 1:26 They cast lots for Jesus garments mentioned in the scriptures above. I'm not saying you should gamble, but who are we to tell people how to dress, what they can and can't do, that is the job of the scriptures and the Holy Spirit. Find me black/white verses that says Thou shalt not gamble. Get them in the family and let God deal with their issues. |

Jesus Made Wine Or Grape Juice
|
| |
Kathr4453-You are right on the money. That's why the Bible says in John 2:10, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. Jesus had made (fresh) new wine. It hadn't been prepared for storage, nor was it fermented. It was the best. Well done! |
