Why Are Teens Cutting Themselves

Your daughter is not cutting because she does not feel loved, and she may not know why she is cutting herself. My daughter is 15 and was cutting and cannot tell me why. The teenage brain is not fully developed at this point in life, they don't assess risk the same way as an adult. As adults we don't always know why we react to things the way we do, so why do you expect your daughter to be able to give you a clear cut answer as to why.
