Daughter-In-Law Problems

It is never easy joining another family. Perhaps your daughter in law feels like an outsider. You messages opens with a subjective comment about her, perhaps she is aware that you dislike her. That would make it difficult to build a relationship. Hold out the hand of friendship to her. Your son saw something in her, respect his choice of partner and as you have grandchildren, you need to keep things amicable for their sake. I say this as a daughter in law whose mother in law set out to try to destroy a good marriage because she was jealous, but did not succeed. It caused a great deal of unhappiness so much so her son and grandchildren are not close to her now as she alienated them. I am sure you would not want that for your family

	No man or woman has the right to abuse another human being. However, this man may have a problem with his self esteem. You do not have to take the abuse, but you could suggest relationship counselling. If he won't go, you can seek help for yourself

	If you act inappropriately would you consider it ok for someone to strike you to put you straight? The best way to help someone to learn right from wrong is to show them by example. If you use force, and don't be fooled, spanking is using force, you are teaching them that using force on someone smaller and more vulnerable than yourself is acceptable

	There are several signs a person may have anorexia. Is she underweight, exercise too much, fear food, tense, etc. The front teeth also tend to have spots due to purging and the acid from the stomach.

How To Properly Spank My Kids
	Do not spank your kids! They are old enough that a time-out would work instead. Anytime you feel like spanking your kids pray, "thank you God that I do not hit my kids". Then, put your kids in a time-out. I have a daughter who will be 2 in a few days and she responds very well to time outs (done in nanny911 fashion).

Why Do You Blog
	After thinking about the question I cant tell why I blog here. But I do know that I have a great thirst for knowledge of God and I have to learn all I can about Him. So, I guess thats why I blog, to learn about Christ. It is difficult sometimes though, because there are so many opinions.

1 of 2 OK, Paul -- I'm here and reading and praying. I can see many people don't understand the situation and much of that is my fault since it's complex and I haven't explained it fully. Suffice it to say, my husband is repentant, wasn't taking full-time pay while he was sinning (or now) and was fully willing to have everything go public. It was upon the advice of a Christian counseling/leadership expert and the discussions of the small core group that knows the situation that we decided to be silent at this point. I'm still uncertain as anyone on this blog about how he could preach and do such good while living such a life of sin, but he did. Since we recommitted to each other and the church, God has blessed us in interesting ways.

2 of 2 We are suddenly seeing new interest in our church and exciting things happening within the group. One of the things that we noticed is that our pre-set worship topics over the first few weeks were very specifically directed at our situation. We started with repentance and moved through purity, resisting temptation and adultery! God has an interesting sense of humour! My heart is really broken over this: I'm just trying to ensure I'm doing the right things too -- especially in my dealings with "the other woman". Pray He helps me deal with her in love but with appropriate boundaries.

Pastor Confessed An Affair

Thank you Bill -- He is both my husband and pastor. We are praying fervently! We are clinging to each other for support and our relationship, in many ways, is better than ever. We got some expert advice saying that young Christians and our many visitors will not likely understand the grace of God in this situation and, that if we believe it can be contained within the core group, we can do so. But I'm worried that I'm simply hiding our shame because it's what I want instead of what God wants. My husband has worked diligently during the entire affair and now that it is over (and it definitely is) should he be stopped from working to prove he's repentant?

Worship Of Barack Obama
	I found it amazing how quickly Obama arose to become our president. It seems that the world of opinion can turn on a dime. I could never understand how the whole world would worship the beast but now I do. Not that I think Obama is the anti-christ but if he should have a head wound and miraculasly recovers I might change my mind. Blessings, Sue

Emerging Church Movement
	So I am still wondering what the emerging church is. Is it a seeker friendly church where never is heard a discouraging or convicting word? Is a lack of knowledge about the Trinity? Check out Matthiew 3:13-17 Father Son and Holy spirit are all present at one place and at one time. I have been hearing about some type of new teaching going around. So is this it? Blessings, Sue

Ever Sent Out A Prayer Cloth

Scripture must be our reference point in life. It is the Word of God and unchanging. We all know that God can use anything and anybody He wishes to accomplish His will. He heals because He is good. One way that healing occurred was when Paul was ministering in Ephesus. Acts 19:11-12 tells how "God gave Paul the power to do unusual miracles, so that even when handkerchiefs or cloths that had touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and any evil spirits within them came out." NLT Here we have an example of not only healings but people being delivered from demon possession. Our God is an awesome and wonderful God.
