Jed, I ask your forgiveness. I should not have said that. Please forgive me and pray for me.

---Monk_Brendan on 12/24/13

Brendan, I forgive you. And I will also ask you and everyone to forgive me for at times being to harsh with my words. I think this site can bring out the worst in folks. I often get too frustrated with all the liberalism on a site that is supposed to be Christian. I think we all at times can let others on this site get the best of us. And I think bloggers can fall into an addiction for arguing. For this reason, I think I am going to take a long overdue break from this site for a while.

Churches Asking For Money

Worshiping God is not about strenuous (rigorous) offerings (Colossians 1:25 R.S.V.).

We cannot enrich God's life by giving Him ANYTHING at all, WE CAN be helpful to the BODY of Christ, but we are still helpless to provide anything in comparison to what HE provides,....offer Him NO COMPETITION...HIS gracious giving is SUPREME...step back.

---faithforfaith on 12/24/13

You completely miss the point of giving offering to God. It's not that God needs our offering, it that we need to give it. We are to obey God's Spirit, if that means giving to a point that hurts, then that what we do.

Is Cain The Seed Of Adam

Yes. Cain is the seed of Adam & Eve.

Constitutional Rights Restricted

If you went onto someone's private property who does not want you to wear it, THEY have the right to tell you to take it off or leave. The Bill of rights only affects the Government ---NurseRobert on 12/22/13

Firstly, the two examples I gave (and the example Trish gave about the shirt) was at school, which is government, not private property.

Secondly, if the bill of rights only guarantees your rights against government infringement, then why are private businesses and churches often prosecuted for discriminating? The Constitution doesn't protect you on private property, right?

No, you're wrong according to the Supreme Court, but then, your too much of an arrogant tea partier to understand that..

---NurseRobert on 12/22/13

Wow. I'm always surprised at the level of hostility in your comments. Out of someone who claims they are the party of compassion.

Most laws and administration policies have never seen the Supreme Court, so your comment is just plain ignorance. Also, we have a supreme court that has abused it's powers and overstepped the bounds of it's intended function. Our courts often legislate from the bench, which is not their job.

It's just ridiculous to claim that the God's Spirit was not on the O.T. prophets like Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, & Ezekiel. How can a prophet prophesy without direction of the Holy Spirit?

Are Associate Degrees Any Good

The question should be "are COLLEGE degrees any good?". I have friends who have bachelors and masters degrees who make less than friends who only have a high school diploma. Heck, one of the highest paid friends I have doesn't even have a high school diploma, and he is one of the most intelligent people I know. If you know a skilled trade, you don't even need a college degree.

I think the biggest thing is what field that degree in in? If you have an associates degree in nursing, then yes that is definitely usable. But if you have a degree in music, I'm afraid you've wasted your time and money and better get in line for a McDonalds job.

on cannot read between the lines ---StrongAxe on 12/21/13

Excellent sentence! You have read between the lines and assumed that the sixth commandment excludes unborn babies! Since the bible does not say the 6th commandment excludes the unborn, we must assume it includes ALL murders.

Warwick, all you have to do is read Jed's rant (and he's wrong on every point he made here)---NurseRobert on 12/21/13

I'm wrong ACCORDING TO YOU, a liberal who lives by deception.

Churches Asking For Money

I wouldn't say "Do it to your own convenience". But rather do as the Holy Spirit convicts you. It's not much of a sacrifice if you never give until it hurts. Jesus didn't give to His convenience, He was obedient to His Father at any cost, and it hurt bad. We didn't become Christians to live a life of convenience, but to walk in Jesus' footsteps carrying our own cross and being crucified to ourselves.

Trish, I understand what the question says. My point is, All the attention is put on the student who was told to change the shirt, but all of the students in that class who obeyed the rule had their rights infringed also. They didn't have to get in trouble for wearing a religious shirt to have their rights trampled. Just the fact that they didn't wear religious shirts because it wasn't allowed means their rights were trampled. See my point?

Every day I am subject to thousands of laws that limit my constitutional rights. Just because I have always obeyed those laws and can't give a story of a specific time that I was told to stop, doesn't mean that I'm not daily prevented by those laws from exercising my constitutional rights.

Jesus might not have used the word "hypocrite" very often, but he did talk about Christian hypocrites alot. One good example is the parable of the sheep and the goats. The goats were Christian hypocrites, who were so good at playing the game that they even worked miracles in Jesus' name. But that didn't stop Jesus from saying "depart from me, I never knew you".

Christmas Church Traditions

celebrating the birthday of Christ when you never commanded it.

Well you must be in some serious trouble because God never commanded you to use the toilet, either! Or to even breathe! How dare you breathe without being told to!

Should I be devastated or something? You were already ignoring all my questions about those ridiculous claims you made.

Long For Moral Days

That would depend on whether or not "prenatal infanticide" was consider "murder" according to Moses. While many assume this is so, it IS an assumption, since the Bible nowhere explicitly says so.
---StrongAxe on 12/20/13

The Bible also never says that putting a bullet in your wife's head is murder, or that slicing your neighbor's head off with an ax is murder. The Bible isn't a dictionary, it doesn't have to explain what murder is because that's a word that everyone should know the meaning of. Murder is the unjust killing of a human being. Jabbing a needle into the back of an innocent baby's skull and sucking it's brain out with a vacuum is clearly murder.

Whaaaaaa! Let's go sit in the corner and cry! Boo hoo. I can't handle when someone challenges my false slanderous accusations of others which I can't defend. I'm used to getting away with bullying people, manipulating by quickly changing the subject to someone's spelling and lying about what they said. And I just can't handle it when someone like Jed calls me on my lies and forces me to defend what I said. Whaaaaa! I'm not talking to Jed anymore so I don't have to answer for what I say. I just can't handle these kinds of hard questions. Someone please give me my bottle now!

\\Why then did Jesus himself and the disciples continue to practice Jewish observances after they became Christians?\\

When did Jesus become a Christian, Jed?

Can you give us BCV to support your point?

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 12/20/13

Grow up, Cluny! You're obviously avoiding answering questions now by picking apart a sentence. Typical Cluny behavior. You apparently have the understanding of a severly mentally handicapped person (I was going to say little kid, but even little kids can understand simple questions). I have asked you the question several times in different ways and broken it down for you to a level that even you should be able to understand.

Why Be Moral

"Excursus" does not mean "subject," but is a scholarly word for "going on a tangent."

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 12/20/13

Actually, it does not mean "going on a tangent". It is not a verb, it is a noun. An excursus an appendix or digression that contains further exposition of a point or topic. If you want to simplify that to mean "a tangent" that is one thing, but "going on a tangent" is completely incorrect as excursus is a noun, not a verb. Also, was your tangent related to the original topic? If not, it wasn't an excursus, it was just a distraction.

I DID answer that question on 12/16, ---Jed on 12/18/13

No, Jed, you didn't. You gave a typical non-answer. You responded with some vague statement about guns being taken away and a student not being able to pray at a school function.

What rights of YOURS have been taken away?
---NurseRobert on 12/18/13

Excuse me, NurseRoberts, but the right to bear arms, free speech, and free excercise of religion, are MY rights.

Constitutional Rights Restricted

This question is asinine. Any law which violates any of our constitutional rights, regardless of whether we excersize them, is a violation of our rights, PERSONALLY. For example, even if you are a liberal anti-gun hippie, it is still YOUR right to carry a gun, even though you choose not to. And any restriction of that right is a violation of your PERSONAL rights. Just because it doesn't affect you because you don't excersize that specific right, doesn't mean your personal rights haven't been taken away.br>
MY PERSONAL rights are violated with thousands of unconstitutional laws every day. Just because I have never attempted to defy those laws in order to assert my constitutnioal rights, doesn't mean those rights haven't been violated.
