Christian Activities In Church

---shira4368 on 4/21/14
Don't know the full details but we play pretty loud music and they were in the next room. Also it is probably in our contract that other companies have priorities over us, so we have to adapt to different situations.

Christian Activities In Church

Rita, it does make for some good conversations, We will actually pull some people from those events into church, a good evangelistic tool. We had an American Idol broadcast one year. We could not do music that week.

Christian Activities In Church

Gun show, car show, home improvement show, Honda goldwing show, BMW awards ceremony, oh wait we are the ones at the convention center. We will hopefully have a place of our own soon. yeah no more load out, and fully functional kids rooms (they need it the most).

Tithe Of Mint, Dill And Cummin

So how much do you give. Is this an argument to give more or less, sacrificially or tipping. The 10% is a good starting point for most people because it is both a sacrifice, commitment, and signficant.

Easter Sunday In Your Church

we believe they need to know (which is quite a lot !!)

I want you to expand what this a lot is?

Easter Sunday In Your Church

Unfortunitly yes, we call it CEO (Christmas and Easter only). However, it is also a great opportunity to present the gospel. Do not let an opportunity go to waste.

Why Are There Parables

cool math. but what is your point.

What Is True Religion

Lee I agree with your statement but I am going to add the reason behind religion whether it be to the, Roman/Greek, Norse, Egyptian gods or the baals in the OT. In religion, except christianity, you do not love the god/gods that you worship but you worship them such that the higher/powerful spiritual being will fight/prosper you in your activities. Worship is thus a bargining chip between you and the spiritual being. For example, every field in Israel had a statue of a baal thus you would give an offering such that you would have a good harvest. Micah 6, 6-8: But Christianity God just wants you and your love. Also Deut. 6,6

What Is A Covenant

he would never say that Jesus' death could have been be in vain.
---barb on 4/11/14

Paul is making proof by contradiction. Paul relys only of the blood of Jesus the true passover lamb.
For example I say "all birds are the same color" but you bring red cardinal and yellow canary thus you have disprooved my statement that birds come in only one color.
Paul does the same thing "If righteousness is through the Law (question proposed by Galatians), then Jesus would have died in vain. BUT Jesus did not die in vain so righteousness could not have come through the Law. I am not saying the Law is bad Romans Ch6. As far as being a Pharisee Paul renounced being a Pharisee in Philippians 3 because it does not work.

What Is A Covenant

//Paul a Pharisee doesn't know how the law works toward righteousness.//
--Barb

It does not work to righteousness. It does work to santification (Paul agrees with this) and growing your walk with God but does not lead to righteousness (salvation).

What Is A Covenant

Barb - Gala 2:21 I do not nullify (disregard) the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.

why do you find this shocking? Paul's message in this verse is that if we could follow the Law perfectly, grace would not be needed. He would not have come to die on a cross to redeem us. John 3:14,15. Which is the grace of God or the Gospel.

The verses you quote in 1st John is not about salvation but santification, living by the power of God (Spirit of God) to follow his commandments which proves our foundation as children of God, which is salvation. Paul agrees with this righteous living in Gal. 5 comparing/contrast living by the Spirit vs living by the flesh (sin nature).

My Boyfriend Just Died

grief is normal, but find someone to talk to face to face at your church

My Husband Was Offended

I would suggest that your husband find a away to forgive him. Forgiving that person will bring peace to you and your husband.
Matt. 5:9
Matt 6:14

Is Joel Osteen Biblical

"There are worse things than being joyful and encouraging" Mark Driscoll on Joel Osteen

I am glad Jesus was encouraging John 10:10. I like Driscoll's sound doctrine, however sometimes I feel depressed after listening to him preach but it just goes to show how much God saved me from myself which is what Joel Osteen's message is about. The freedom and power God gives us to tackle and be triumphant sons/daughters of God.

Do Weak Christians Judge

Was Paul weak in I Cor 5?
---Elder on 4/7/14

No, there is a difference between speaking truth in love, Paul who called all the christians saints but need correction 1 Cor 1:2.
Those that judge someone for personal gain like the Pharisee "God, I am glad I am not like this tax collection..."

Why Are There Parables

Parables also given statements context and a visual picture that words just cannot produce.
For example, Jesus could have said "God fights and knows you like you are the only one." Which is true
Or he could say "God is like a shepard who leaves 99 sheep to go after the missing 1 sheep." The image of a good shepard qualities of love, care, ownership, give context to the truth Jesus was proclaiming.

Is Church Membership Needed

Absolutly important.
Church membership is a committment of service and dedication to the success of that body of believers. Having a "regular attendee" mentality says what can this church do for me, I was guilty of this. Having a membership says what can I lay down my life for the success of this church. I disagree many times (not with doctrine but application) with my church about the direction we need to go. However, I see great fruit coming from my church and have a desire to see that fruit multiply so thus I am a member. Attendees have rights, members have responsiblities.

How To Survive Rapture

Because
"Great is thy faithfulness"

Psalm 16 - Preserve me, O God for in you I take refuge

Jeremiah 29

Psalm 17:8 Keep me as the apple of your eye hide me in the shadow of your wings

Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress...

I have survived for 30 years not because of my strength but because Malachi 3:6 For I the Lord do not change, therefore O children of Jacob are not consumed.

//How will you survive for seven years when you aren't Raptured?// I won't but He is strong and I am in Him.

Explain Missing A Miracle

that is the beauty of the Bible connected to the Holy Spirit God tells me a truth and tells you another aspect of God's truth.

So what is your Leon?

Explain Missing A Miracle

//for their heart was hardened//
This statment goes back to the Old Testament miracles that God placed on the Jewish people over and over again and most of them never learning to have faith in God but always wanting God's proof of provision, not reliance on his provision. For example crossing the Red Sea by far the most quoted event in the OT. However after a few days, they wanted to go back to the old easy way of life which was slavery. Other examples are the 12 spies, water from the rock, ravens, time of the judges, etc. However a few like King David, Joshua, Caleb, Ruth, Hebrews Ch11 people figured it out that God was going to bless them in all that he commands them to do. To rely on that faith in God through the storm.
