What Is The Judgement

Christians don't believe in the judgment because they have already judged themselves as saved or born again. Jesus very simply and clearly tells us that it is His Words that will judge us and if we do not believe them (His Words) those same words, the Words that He has spoken, will judge those who rejected them, in the last day. John 12:44-50. This is the white throne judgment.

When He appears in the clouds, He knows who His sheep are and His sheep know Him. And He will separate the sheep from the goats, the sheep have been judged already, so yes, in that sense there is a judgment occurring in Heaven right now where the High Priest makes atonement for His Kingdom.

The Power Of The Law

We are under the law of the ten commandments. Jesus makes this clear in Matt 5:17-20, Matt 19:16-26 and Matt 22:35-40. The 10 commandments of God are also the commandments that Jesus kept and the ones He is telling us to keep in John 15.

The ten commandments is the covenant that binds us to God. Duet 4:14.

Paul never met Jesus and according to Paul's own words he learned nothing from Jesus' disciples. Whatever Paul saw out in the desert, it was not Jesus. Matt 24:23-27.

John, what do you believe Jesus meant when He said, "For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath Day"?

You are correct that the Scribes and Pharisees were trying to trick and condemn Jesus and His disciples. What do think Jesus was teaching in Matt 12? Why did He tell them they had condemned the guiltless? His disciples had not done anything that was not lawful. Right? Some people today do the same by asking, do you drive to church on the Sabbath, do you pick up something that has fallen on the floor, do you cook, do you do this or that?

John, and yet Jesus never told the Scribes and Pharisees that He was keeping the Sabbath and the other nine commandments for them, instead He corrected them in the way of Sabbath keeping. If they could not possibly keep the Sabbath, why would Jesus bother to correct them and why would He lead them on to believe they could?

Bound By Ten Commandments

In the New Testament Jesus was accused by the Scribes and Pharisees quite a few times of breaking the Sabbath and on at least one occasion they sought to lay hands on Him for it. Did Jesus break the Sabbath? Did His disciples break the Sabbath?

Bound By Ten Commandments

Jesus tells us several times that He and His Father are one which leads me to believe that the commandments of God that Jesus kept are the same commandments that He tells us to keep if we love Him.

A new commandment does not do away with the ten commandments of God. To understand why Jesus gave a new commandment to His disciples we can go back to John 13 where He first gives them the new commandment "A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall All Men know that You are My Disciples, if You have Love One to Another". John 13:31-35. By keeping this new commandment, Jesus' followers would be known to all men as His disciples.

Kathr, God made the oath, I committed/promised to the keeping of His ten commandments.

Your argument is not with me, but with God. "For this commandment that I command you today is Not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach." Duet 30:10-20, 1st John 5:3.

Kathr, the only Words I savor proceed from the mouth of God. Duet 8:3, Matt 4:4, John 12:43-50.

Does anyone understand that the covenant that God made with His people and sealed with an oath was the ten commandments?

"It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man." Matt 15:1-20.

"Why do you break the commandment of God by your tradition?" Matt 15:1-20.

"But in vain, they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matt 15.

The ten commandments is the covenant between God and His people. Duet 4:12-16. And God also said, "That thou should enter into covenant with the Lord thy God, and into His oath, which the Lord thy God makes with you this day."...and "Neither with you only, do I make this covenant with this oath but with him who stands here with us this day before the Lord our God and also With Him who is Not Here with us This Day". Duet 29, John 17:20.

The dietary laws are not part of the ten commandments and were for the time and place wherein the Israelites were living.

Josef, the words you quoted were written by Paul and do not reflect the Word of God. "For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you nor is it out of reach." Duet 30:11-20, 1st John 5:3.

"But if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments." Matt 19:17.

"For truly, I say to you, until Heaven and Earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until All is accomplished." Matt 5:18.

"Heaven and Earth will pass away but My Words will never pass away." Matt 24:35.

John, yes the word perfect in Greek means grow up, mature. It also means to complete a process, integrity and virtue, and to reach the end.

I don't believe that Jesus was telling us to grow up or to mature as His Father grew up and matured because His Father has always existed and never had to grow up or mature. I do believe He was telling us to mature and grow in His Word until we are sanctified through it. "Sanctify them through your truth, your word is truth." John 17:17.

Ten Commandments Historical

Kathr, Israel committed themselves to God's covenant and to the keeping of the ten commandments, "speak thou unto us all that the Lord our God shall speak and we will hear it and do it". Duet 5:22-33. Most of the people who break God's law today have not committed themselves to the keeping of His commandments, therefore the curse and the blessing of the law does not apply to them until or unless they make the decision to keep God's covenant. We should not envy their prosperity in this world because it will not be eternal. Read Malachi 3:14-18.

Satan uses the prosperity of his conquests to deceive the world and prolong his rule.

Ten Commandments Historical

John, Jesus fulfilled the Law by overcoming sin. Sin is transgression of the Law. We also must overcome as He did. Rev 3:21. Jesus was perfect and He must have thought that humanity could also attain perfection because He said "Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Matt 5:48.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to think that God was playing some sort of cat and mouse game with Israel and that He commanded them to keep His Law, knowing it was impossible for them to do so. God will have a Kingdom at the end of time who keep His commandments and have the testimony of Jesus. Rev 12:17, Dan 2:44.

Ten Commandments Historical

John, I read those curses on law breakers that you brought forward and found most of them to be included as not to do's in the 10 commandments and the others are common sense rules which no true follower of Jesus would perform.

Do you know that the ten commandments is God's covenant with His people and do you understand that the curse is not on the Law but on the people who do Not keep it?

"And He declared unto you His covenant, which He commanded you to perform, even ten commandments, and He wrote them on two tables of stone." Duet 4:13.

Ten Commandments Historical

What most people don't understand is that God cursed those who would Not keep His commandments but blessed those who would. Take the time to read Duet 28 from the beginning to the end.

Why doesn't Paul ever mention the blessing God gave to those who keep His commandments?

"Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." Rev. 22:14-15.

Here are the graduates of God's class, "And the dragon was wroth with the woman and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Rev 12:17, Rev 14:1-5, Matt 13:40-43.

The graduates taught by the Holy Spirit will not have to walk the aisle to show their diplomas because God will see it written in their hearts and in their minds. Jeremiah 31:33, Matt 13:43.
