Son In Pink Clothing

Proverbs 22:

6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
15 "Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him."
28 "Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set."

Love Thy Neighbor

Exodus 22:21 "Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt."

This verse hardly would point to "a stranger" as if it were an "unfamiliar 5th cousin".

Exodus 12:49 "One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you."

Numbers 15:29 "Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them."

Church of Christ A Good Church

1 Corintians 13:1_2 "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing."

Paul too states that faith alone is nothing. Most spanish Bible versions translate 1 Cor 13 as "love" instead of "charity".

Matthew 25:35_36 "For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: ..."

In those verses Christ is rewarding active love or charity, not faith.

Saved If Don't Understand

John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."

Faith of course.

John 14:24 "He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me."

Is keeping his sayings just a mere memorization of his words?

Matthew 7:24 "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:..."

Doeth? (James 1:22)

1 Corinthians 11:1_2

Doers...

Slain In The Spirit

What do you tell those vets, that those parts they lost in combat were "UNchosen, UNelected, UNcalled"?

kathr453, this fellow has shown a better penmanship than Mark_V. One thing is sure, they 'both' have eaten the same slop.

" God uses these past tense terms because His selections have already happened:..."

Here is a future tense, "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."
Here is a present to future tense: "If any man serve me, let him follow me, and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour."

Righteous Not Forsaken

Trav, my wife used to go by "Mima", like her mother before her. I wanted to use 'Mima' when I started blogging here but there was another fellow going by that.

Sorry about all the typo errors with the Isaiah verses. I am terrible thus far with my 'smart phone'.

Righteous Not Forsaken

Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layethitto heart: and merciful menare taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evilto come.

2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each onewalkingin his uprightness.

Baptism Scares Me

John 6:56 "He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, dwellethin me, and I in him."

To whom was the body of Christ first revealed?

Baptism Scares Me

1 Corinthians 10:3_4 "And did all eat the same spiritual meat, And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ."
John 3:5 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

Hebrews 12:14 "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:..."
Hebrews 12:12 "Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees.."

Born of water, 1 Peter 3:21.

Baptism Scares Me

Acts 10:1_2 "There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway."
Acts 10:34_35 "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him."

Cornelious received grace for his righteousness.

Matthew 5:20 "For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."

Benefits From Any Church

Luke 8:15 "But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience."

Biblical To Remarry

Carla speaks from experience as a woman who would have all women walk her own 'via dolorosa' anew. She is a woman who has suffered the short end of the stick for decades until old age beat her husband of his high horse. She is not painting God as a monster, she rather is painting herself as a hero who endured the pittance she portrays for a woman's lot.

No Fear Of Death

Consider reason
Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
Isaiah 41:21 "Produce your cause, saith the LORD, bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob."
Mark 12:28 "And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?"

Does The Bible Save

Once more, redirecting the missdirection, no one is talking about Universal Salvation here.
We read, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6

Steven stated, "the whole villiage adhered to its doctrines". Paul stated, "To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:", Romans 2:7
Micah put it simply, "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good, and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"

Does The Bible Save

Jonah 3:6_10 " yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way, and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them, and he did it not."

Jonah 4:11 "And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand, and also much cattle?"

The book of Jonah does not speak of a 'doctine of the law' or gnosticism. Steven knows the Bible is the word of God.
"It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Does The Bible Save

Matthew 12:41 "The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas, and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here."
Acts 10:34_35 "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him."

StrongAxe, may your body strengthen daily.

Mercy On Who Desire

John 14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." Hardly can one call Jesus's audience as 'fallen', being that they believed in God.
Same scenario in the account of Cornelious, Acts 10:2 "A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway." An angel of God told him in a vision, "Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God." Again, hardly can Cornelious be called 'lost' or 'fallen'. Rather Cornelious is as the man Jesus describes in Luke 8:15 "...they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience."

Does The Bible Save

"We are separated from Christ (Eph. 2:12).
We are slaves to sin (John 8:34) and dominated by Satan (2 Tim.
2:26). We are children of wrath (Eph. 2:3) and lovers of darkness
(John 3:20) who have been darkened in our understanding (Eph.4:18"

By David Platt in "Finish the Mission: Bringing the Gospel to the Unreached and Unengaged" edited by John Piper, David Mathis

Ephesians 2:12 says, "ye were". It does not say "ye are or we are".
Ephesians 2:3, says, "were by nature" not "we are".

Luke feeds on lies daily and tries to pass them for Truth.

God Love Me More

John 14:15_24 "If ye love me, keep my commandments. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me."
