Bound By Ten Commandments
True we need to call attention to the Sermon on the mount also. It is a blueprint for how we are to live as Christians. So both as well as the whole Bible needs to be studied and followed.

All Scripture is for study to teach us. Some of higher importance but all to be understood.

Do Ghosts Exist
Good point Bill. I agree.

The Power Of The Law
Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

The law tells us what sin is. We are convicted by the law which is a tutor to bring us to Jesus. Galatians.

James also compares the law to a mirror. It shows us the dirt in our lives. But Paul makes sure we know the law tells what sin is.

But it is not the cure. Grace and being Born Again filled with the Holy Spirit is the cure.

Let us look to Jesus. So we will not walk in sin. But live in love. Agape

The Power Of The Law
True the law leads us to Jesus. It tells us we are sinner and need to be saved.

Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

So the law tells us what is sin and what we should not do. James says the law is like a mirror. It shows us our problems but does not cure them.

That takes Grace and the blood of Jesus.

Ten Commandments Historical
No John. Sister White never says we can earn salvation. But if a person live in sin without repentance. They are not saved.

As has been stated. Those who are saved will live saved.

Christ was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves. He was condemned for our sins, in which He had no share, that we might be justified by His righteousness, in which we had no share. He suffered the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which was His. "With His stripes we are healed." {Desire of Ages, page 25

Why Easter And Christmas
There was one united Church until 1056 AD. Then it split in two. Often referred to as the Great Schism.

After that there existed the Orthodox churches and Roman Catholic church.

Both insist they were the real apostolic church. The RCC states that the Popes were always the head of all the Churches from the first so called pope Peter till now. On the other hand the Orthodox totally dispute the Popes of Rome were the leaders of the whole church ever.

Ten Commandments Historical
True love forbids breaking the Ten Commandments. Love of GOD and love of others. But some insist that love does allow people to break the commandments.

True we teach a time for the investigative judgment. Others don't call it that. They call it the Bema judgment seat. They are similar in that both say all Christians will face judgment just like the Bible says.

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

So what is the big difference? I know does anyone else know this doctrine?

Favorite Translation Of Bible
I like the King James is sounds beautiful. The New King James is good. But I also like the New American Standard Bible.

Where Is Elijah And Enoch
Moses and Elijah are in heaven. They were taken up into heaven.

Jesus went up by his power. I don't know if that is the correct answer. But the Bible is plain those two went up. Elijah and Moses appeared to Jesus.

Others propose that the going up of Jesus is different because of his primacy.

Ten Commandments Historical
While there were some long ago who always wanted to get rid of the Ten Commandments since they didn't want to live like Jesus.

Today some believe they live more like Jesus when they don't think or follow the Ten Commandments. But that does not make sense since GOD which also means Jesus wrote them on stone.

In Matthew 5 Jesus uplifted the Ten Commandments and pointed out they applied to thoughts and the heart.

Hebrews says GOD will write his laws in our hearts.

Dispensationalism started the teaching of the Ten Commandments being done away with. That was in the 1900's. It has become very popular.

How Did Life Begin
I have read a number of times that having similar DNA proves Evolution and close relationship from ancestry.

But why would GOD not use similar tools to build all that exist.

Evolution starts with something that Science says is impossible.

Non living matter must become alive. That has no way for it to happen. They have been trying to get it to happen for a long time.

Intelligent design Christians says that GOD has used his intervention to lead all that happened to bring about people and his desire.

They are still Christians. I just disagree.

How Did Life Begin
Strongax yes day can be used for different lengths of time. Adam was told to rest on the Seventh day. Since that is one of the days of creation it does not fit as being thousands years. In the Fourth Commandments in Exodus 20 it says to keep the Seventh day of Creation memorial. We don't live thousands of years to be able to do that.

I can only go by what GOD says. So I believe Genesis states it correctly. When Genesis happened I don't know. When the earth was created. I don't know. It was in existence before the first day since the earth there but without form. Also Adam named animals.

I used to believe in Evolution. I have no argument with Intelligent Design. I see it as a compromise. But not a salvation issue.

Ten Commandments Historical
To live righteously is to do justice to others.

Those who follow Jesus are supposed to live for him. Why? Because they have been Born Again and are created for good works. So when we love GOD we keep the first four Commandments. When we love our neighbor we keep the last six. Romans 13 even says love keeps the law.

Is God Omni-Present
I believe GOD often has his prophets use words to help humans understand.

How Does God Select
There are two views on this. First GOD knows who and what we will choose.

Calvinists says GOD chooses us and we have no say so in the matter.

Arminian view is we are convicted by the Holy Spirit who gives us the right to choose. Those who choose for GOD for all their life are saved.

Explain Acts 19:11-12
I think we are talking about we need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to discern what the Scriptures mean.

People often take the words of scripture and twist their meaning to prove what they want to believe. Not what the Bible says.

To find truth Scripture must be compared to scripture on the topic being studied.

Saved By Following Bible
Paul give background and deep dimensions to the Gospel of Christ. After all he was a scholar. Our understanding must include the whole Bible.

All scripture is for doctrine and truth. 2 timothy 3:16.

It is by comparing scripture with scripture as the final authority above the words of men that truth is found.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is from the whole Bible.

Spirit Goes To Heaven
Dear Kathyr you didn't give a passage that states what you believe.

In I Corinthians 15 the Bible says we sleep until the resurrection. The reason you could not give a verse showing what you believe is that the Bible never says that. Follow what this chapter says.

By the way Jesus called Lazarus out of the grave. Not down from heaven.

Are Churches Politically Corrrectc
Jesus stopped the penalty of women. He didn't say it is no longer a sin to commit adultery. Which Paul affirms in Romans 13 when he lists adultery as a sin.

In Matthew 5 Jesus speaks of how the law points out the sins of the heart. Then says I come not to destroy the law but to fulfill it.

However many take fulfill to mean destroy. Which makes the statement to say I come not to destroy the law but to destroy the law. Which is nosense.

Paul states the law is just and good. He also says the law defines sin. That is it's job.

The law does not save. It condemns. Grace saves. But Grace does not do away with the law. The Holy Spirit brings us to love GOD and love others which leads us to not break the law. Romans 13.

Saved By Following Bible
No David we are not saved by following. We are saved by believing.

It is called having faith. But those who have faith will obey the words of GOD. Works show who we are. They don't save. They are the results of being saved.

Because we love others we don't lie, steal, murder, covet or commit adultery. Because we love GOD we reverence his name and allow nothing to come between us and Him. Nor do we misuse his name. Because we love GOD and our Lord Jesus Christ we love to spend time with Him.
