Your Spiritual Walk

I left out 2 words in my last post. "one of". (As in, One of the best things about belonging to the Lord.) We no longer have to rely on our own strength. There are far too many blessing to count when one turns their life over to the Lord, so to say "the best thing" implies one. That is in NO WAY what I was meaning to say:-/ When we accept Christ, the Holy Spirit is with us, helping us, guiding us. A slow memory is no big deal for Him. :-)

Your Spiritual Walk

Sis. Shira, the best thing about belonging to the Lord is, we don't have to rely on "our" memory. If we've put in the time to "study & show ourselves approved", the Lord will bring back to memory the Scripture as it is needed in our lives. :-) He knows how & is perfectly capable of being our memory for us. Don't you worry one second over your ability (or lack of it) to remember those Scriptures you memorized. They're still in your brain & God our Father will help you. :-)

Your Spiritual Walk

I know the feeling of peace when talking with the Lord & I've seen prayers answered on a regular basis. However,I would love to be close enough to God to hear Him fast & without fail. With absolute clarity to know His will in every situation. No hesitation or wondering. I'd love for my faith to be that strong-that solid! But I know that waiting is part of the building faith process. I just kinda-wanta skip that part sometimes:-)

Which Church Do You Attend

I love watching Charles Stanley's programs on T.V. He's a great preacher.

Cluny, I don't understand what you mean by "hand pedals". Are you serious or joking? I never really know with you. I've been playing piano all my life & I'm totally clueless to what you could mean by hand pedals. Sorry, I guess I'm just not getting the joke. :-/

Which Church Do You Attend

I've gone to Southern Baptist & Missionary Baptist all my life. I've played piano, keyboard, organ, sang & taught Sunday School. My Dad & most of my Uncles on both sides of my family are Baptist preachers so yes, I've worked in the church since I started playing piano in the 3rd grade. The first time I played, I couldn't reach the foot pedals :-) I've helped some Methodist & Assembly of God churches when they needed me. But I feel that the Baptist is what fits the way I believe more than any other I've gone to.

Unbelievers Living In Your House

Thanks Grandma, I definitely don't want to be judging anyone! The Lord knows I of all people have absolutely no right to judge anyone for wrong doing. I'm of all men most miserable when it comes to serving God without failures. I will pray for them & myself that God will be shown in all we do. Thanks again Grandma.(I love your name. :-D)

CLUNY: "torah-thumping".... :-D Sometimes your harshness is a bit humorous. Or maybe, you mean it as sarcastic. Either way... I can't help but grin. :-)

Unbelievers Living In Your House

Here's my problem in a nutshell: My daughter, a Christian believer, & her husband, also a Christian believer, is allowing his brother & the brothers live in girlfriend, to stay in their home. My daughter knows this isn't right & how I feel about it. My problem is I get angry when she mentions them to me. I don't say anything but my blood pressure goes sky high! How do I respond when she talks about them(just general daily things) as though it's no big deal?

I know since this is Christmas Eve there will possibly be very few people "Blogging/posting" this week so Rita & Cluny I'm thankful you responded. I love your answers because it takes a HUGE burden off my shoulders. I was brought up that we are to "Shun" believers who do or allow sin into their homes/lives & I've never felt that was a good way to be a witness. & I've felt uncomfortable with the way that was done. I wanted other advice from people who claim to be my Brothers & Sisters & see what they're belief was on this subject. I hope there will be more for me to hear from but if not, thank you both for telling me how you feel about this subject. Merry Christmas & a very Blessed New Year. :-D

Please give Scripture with your responses, if at all possible. Like, Eph. 5:3. When it says to not let fornication be named among you, is it only saying, for you, as a Christian, to not live in fornication yourself? Or could it be saying, for a Christian to not be a part of fornication even if an unbeliever else is doing it? Example: allowing them to stay in your home because they have no where to live/no job....

Long For Moral Days

Shira, thank you, AT LAST, someone who understands what I'm talking about! :-D

Cluny, I'm saying, I wish that real life in the 21st. century was respectful & peaceful LIKE IT SHOWS on the OLD T.V. shows. I know you said that the language you grew up with was bad, but bad language, especially using God, Christ & Jesus as swear words were not as open & bold as it is today. I'm sure there was disrespectful people who did it then like now, but it wasn't heard as much. Growing up (I was born in 62),I don't remember EVER hearing God, Jesus or Christ being used except in prayer or respect.

Long For Moral Days

Yes Cluny, However, There's more than one. I clicked on the one titled, "....60's era" & did a speed read through it. Enough to know that you're missing the whole point & reason behind this blog. I see your point. Every one that reads/watches T.V./listens to radio, etc. is aware of the struggles & moral issue we face. I can't seem to get you to understand the point I'm trying to make by saying I'd like for things to be better/I wish things were different. The main focus of this blog was to be on how bad the language has gotten & accepted as normal. Now it has gotten off that onto other things. So lets just leave things as they are on this subject. It's gotten a bit confusing some how... :-/

Long For Moral Days

Cluny, I'm used to not being "agreed" with, & that's O.k. :-) When I mentioned those show titles, I was referring to the times & feel that those movie setting showed/played out, Not the actual times. I'm aware that America, like the whole world, has never been as good as shows- "show", that's why I said "I long for the morals of days gone by"(DAY'S IN THE MOVIE, not necessarily the actual/fictional date). Even though things were awful, Government, media, etc. were a bit more shy about showing the public how liberal they were for fear of losing votes. The old black & white shows didn't have the horrible disrespect for God/swaring that the movies today have. That's the point I was trying to make.

Is Evil Needed On Earth

Mark, God is all knowing. Of course He knew before creating man that we would fail. However, He wanted our love & fellowship bad enough to be willing to die for us to save us from our sin. He knew all this before creating us. I personally believe, that my God, knowing all this before hand, sill decided to create man, put him in a perfect home(UNCURSED) to live in peace & harmony. God's only requirement was to obey Him. Leave ONE TREE ALONE! We failed. Did God know that was going to happen? YES. That's how badly He wanted our fellowship, our love. I believe, in the beginning, before man sinned, the garden was perfect(UNCURSED). But I refuse to argue the fact. You have every right to believe as you wish.

Is Evil Needed On Earth

Mark, let me explain what I meant by "PERFECT". Matt. 19:17 says there's none "GOOD" but "GOD" so when our PERFECT GOD said that the things He created in the garden were "GOOD", to me, that's saying it was "PERFECT". The tree of knowledge wasn't placed there for man to use & God told them to leave it alone. God wants our love & obedience, but He gives us a choice. Obey or rebel. Man's rebellion is what caused the evil to be part of our lives. God never wanted that for us.

Is Evil Needed On Earth

When I said, It's the "CURE" that man's sin has brought to earth, I meant, evil is the "CURSE" man's sin has brought to earth. Christ is the only CURE.

Is Evil Needed On Earth

Sorry, I typed an error:-/ When I said, It's the "CURE that man's sin brought to earth. I was meaning. It's the "CURSE" man's sin brought to earth. Christ is the only cure for our sins.
