Pope Francis Prayers

Sam: "Jerry. In Spanish speaking countries they say Dios instead of GOD. Is that Blasphemy?"

No, because Dios is Jehovah God. Allah is NOT Jehovah God. The name refers to the ancient Arabic moon god, Allah. The validity of Jehovah - the God of love - is certified by many prophets, all of which are in agreement. Muslims have only one prophet, and he blasphemes Christ and was himself a thief, a murderer and a pedophile. No, Allah - the god of hate - is not God at all - in any language.

ax: "That is black-and-white thinking."

You (and all the other lefties) could use a little B/W thinking. You seem to want to make every issue cloudy, confused, unclear and debatable, so that when you violate God's word it doesn't seem so bad. You apparently think that God was confused when He said that He created the heavens and the earth in 6 days, or that He didn't really mean it when He said "Thou shalt not". Get a clue! You are not smarter than God, and He means what He says.

Commandments From Jesus

Mark E: "All sin has been forgiven by God"

I do not agree with that, Nor does Paul:

1Co 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Only past sins are forgiven, and those only when repented of.

Commandments From Jesus

David: "Protestants don't believe they can sin"

The truth is that there are very few actual Protestants left, specifically, those that protest the supplanting of God's Law with the commandments of men. In my research, I found that most mainline religions - Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, etc. - do indeed proclaim in their founding documents that they are bound by the Ten Commandments (albeit altered versions thereof). Only the Pentecostals and the Evangelicals claim to be above the law.

I very much appreciate your standing with me in upholding the truth of the Bible above the opinions of men.

Commandments From Jesus

//Our sin has been dealt with by the death of Jesus. So has the Law.
---Mark_Eaton on 7/21/17//

Your first statement is true, but the second is false. The Bible says that Jesus came to save us from sin - not from the Law. He told the adulteress "Neither do I condemn thee, GO AND SIN NO MORE". The only law that was erased by Christ's atoning sacrifice on the cross was the Levitical sacrificial law of which Christ was "the Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the world".

Pope Francis Prayers

To call Allah God is blasphemy!

Commandments From Jesus

Cluny is right! Jesus IS God! Jesus is Jehovah God who wrote the Ten Commandments in stone with His own finger and gave them to Moses - twice.

1Co 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

This then must be the Law Christ mentioned when He said:

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

The two "new" love laws that Christ gave were actually quotes from the Old Testament and summarize the Ten Commandments. They were "new" only to the hearers.

Glory to Jesus Christ, the author of the Ten Commandments!

Sam: When did I call you a snowflake? I was commenting on Cluny's "(Don't let the pretty boys on bicycles fool you.)" comment (which I find humorous). Do you think he was referring to you? I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, but maybe you should reconsider your leftist leanings, as they are in conflict with our Biblical beliefs.

ax: Sometimes overthinking a plain "thus saith the Lord" can lead to erroneous conclusions, as is the case with most higher criticism.

Cluny: "Jerry, are you saying that your English translation of the Bible is more authoritative than the original Greek and Hebrew texts?"

First of all, there is NO extant original Greek and Hebrew text. I am saying however that the Textus Receptus of the KJV is MUCH MORE RELIABLE than the Sinaiticus, Vaticanus or Latin Vulgate source of the more modern translations. I thought you knew that.

My Bible says:

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of HIMSELF, but whatsoever HE shall hear, that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

Seems pretty clear to me.

(Don't let the feminist snowflakes fool you.)

Doctrine Of Immaculate Conception

John: "Patently false, the rcc didn't exist until about the 12th-13th century."

You are incorrect.

The papacy (the Bishop of Rome) ruled supremely in Europe from 538 A.D. when the last of the Arian tribes was forced out of Rome and into oblivion, until 1798 A.D. when the French general Berthier took the pope captive, which history records a period of 1,260 years, as predicted in Scripture.

Still Call Themselves Sinners

Mark E: False, man-made stories like yours are the source of false religious doctrine. Stick to Scripture and we will have a common point of reference.

Doctrine Of Immaculate Conception

ax: We Protestants do not agree that we were born with the guilt of sin from our parents, but rather with a sinful or carnal nature - the propensity or tendency to sin. And ALL of us (with the singular exception of Christ) have succumbed to that nature at some point in our lives - Mary included. The Bible does not say that Mary was sinless. It only says that about Jesus.

Still Call Themselves Sinners

The antinomianists (primarily evangelicals and pentecostals) are the only ones who officially claim to be above the law. This they derive from a misunderstanding of Paul's use of the word "law". As an educated Pharisee, Paul used the word "law" to mean either:

1) The Ten Commandments
2) The complete writings of Moses
3) The Levitical sacrificial system
4) The carnal tendency to sin
5) The connection between sin and death,

and perhaps others.

Paul leaves it up to the scholarship of the reader to determine which "law" applies. Unfortunately, the scholarship (or lack thereof) of the antinomian is such that he uses definition 3 in place of definition 1.

Doctrine Of Immaculate Conception

Gordon: Excellent! Well said!

Doctrine Of Immaculate Conception

cluny: "So is Jesus."

Really? So you think Jesus sinned?

ax: You missed the point, as usual.

Greatest Threat To The World

nurse: "As my daughter once said..."he's an old man who repeats himself.""

Was she talking about YOU?

Haz: Isn't it interesting how our lefty friends can't see anything wrong with their sexual perversion doctrines? No matter that such doctrines are abominable to God? (Who only made male and female, and made them easily determined.) I see this as a slap in God's face and a fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy for the last days:

Luk 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
Luk 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Doctrine Of Immaculate Conception

ax: "Can you cite chapter and verse to support this position?"

Rom 3:23 For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God

Mary was part of ALL.

Jesus was made incarnate by the action of the Holy Spirit (God) on a maiden descended from Adam, and with his sinful propensities. If Jesus had not come as one of us (being capable of temptation), then He could not be our substitute, since He would have conquered sin as God rather than as a man. He was fully man as well as fully God.

"If God gave Jesus alone the grace to live a sinless life"

First, Jesus IS God! Secondly, He gives us ALL the grace (power) to live sinless lives if we would but surrender our lives to Him.

Doctrine Of Immaculate Conception

ax: Jesus got His sinful nature from His mother. She was full of grace, but a sinner nonetheless. Jesus is our example as well as our redeemer. He fought the temptations of Satan as we must fight them with "it is written". He set aside His divinity after His incarnation (until His return to heaven) and relied wholly on His Father in order to live a sinless life. Temptation is not sin - giving in to it is sin. So too must we overcome temptation.

Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
