Sue, it is a pity that all those brave and good men gave their lives for a New World Order. What a waste. There won't be any freedom of religion then, just the One World Apostate Church.
---frances on 2/20/08

Because our fore-father's fought and died for the freedom of religion.
---sue on 2/19/08

It starts with welcoming the homeless, and ends up them running things, voting for the leaders of the country en masse, and putting in people who will favour them for jobs. Before you know it men whose grandparents were illegal immigrants are in the Supreme Court making Torture Laws, like Alberto Gonzales.
---frances on 2/19/08

No, Sheila. God created variety. Many different kinds of animals and many different kinds of people. In the O.T. in Ezra, the Chosen people were told to even give up their foreign wives if they were to enter the Promised Land. I believe in the uniqueness of each individual, and not some Global Communism that is preached in place of Christianity today.
---frances on 2/19/08

Immigration creates racism because people see the people who have their reasons, like economic, or religious, giving jobs to foreigners that should have gone to them. I am not talking here of social mobility but mass immigration. I am not talking of intermarriage etc, which is fine. nor am I talking of asylum seeking.
---frances on 2/19/08

Matthew, (1) as I am myself an alien in a foreign land, I think I can speak from both sides of the fence. It is really good that the world should be a free place and crossing of borders should be allowed. I think you would agree with that. In fact I am against borders at all, because of their misuse.
---frances on 2/19/08

Matthew 2. However, immigration is a tool that is used by POWERS to engineer situations. Muslim terrorism was created that way, by deliberately moving terrorists en masse from country to country. Immigration can also hide criminals. Countries ought to be allowed to protect themselves from foreign invasions.
---frances on 2/19/08

Yes, Nicollette below says the truth, but wait, should the stupidity that followed 911, be followed by further stupidity of giving up Sovereignity so that every country is unprotected. Well, anyway, the horse as bolted now and there is no point shutting the gate. The Vatican has to regain world control.
---frances on 2/19/08

The trouble with mass immigration is that it creates more of the same. People end up reluctantly moving away from their own country because their jobs have gone to minimum paid immigrants. It's a tragedy and it will get worse.

How can you talk about illegal immigrants when the whole of the USA is stolen (by illegal immigrants) from the original indians?

Part 2: I mean, for starters, Bush recently vetoed a bill that would have really helped our military families and veterans--and yet he apparently has no problem with illegals coming to America, not speaking English, and feeding them with American dollars. Not to mention some of our own elderly and disabled citizens that can't get the help they need--but the alien next door gets $200 in food stamps?! How is that fair? Don't get mad please--I'm just asking--thanks :)
---Mary on 12/30/07

I take you are not American. That fact is that you are just too right! Since 9/11 we Americans have been paranoid, selfish, and stupid. I wish I was a Canadian. And I'm not sure I want to think of myself as a Christain given the tone of many of the comments of other Christains on this blog. Please keep saying what you think, we need to hear it.
---matthew on 12/30/07

Part 2: I mean, Bush just vetoed a bill that would have increased the pay for military families and improved benefits for our veterans--now if those who totally deserve the $ don't get it, why on earth should we give it to an illegal immigrant?! How is that fair?
---Mary on 12/30/07

Hi Carla, how can we be responsible for the disastrous mistakes of our ancestors? I didn't rob the Indians of old, but I will confess to not liking to see people who don't even come to this country legally (and some that do) being fed by our corrupt government, while they neglect some of those who are most entitled to the help, that's all I'm saying, no offense. :)
---Mary on 12/28/07

Why do so many people find it impossible to come into the USA legally? Why do they have to sneak? What are the rules?

(I know, I probably should do my own research on this....but you guys are so smart.)

America is beautiful. I can understand why American's are Xenophobic. God once blessed you with amazing favour but you became greedy and self seeking, caring little about the rest of the world except to try to dominate it. Now you don't want to share your prosperity? Perhaps you no longer have God's favour. Look at what has happened in your beautiful land since 9/11. You live in perpetual paranoia and constant fear. You no longer know enemies from friends and your leadership is corrupt.
---Nicolette on 12/28/07

We are all immigrants. We are all God's children. What's wrong with you people? Some of you just can't be Christains.
---matthew on 12/27/07

Sinners Prayer~
Help ME OH Lord because the immigrants are taking over the wealth of US and NOW we have to share All the stuff WE Stole from them. They're entering our Country illegal even though we were the earlier IMMIGANTS ourselves leaving their people in the desserts to live and robbed their fertile land to live RICH/FREE they want to have our schools/homes/wealth we built for OUR Families and NOW they want a share of it!

Is Immigration in the hand of the commoner?or controlled by the law of the land?Have we invited the enemy to sow weeds in our fields of Corn. The weeds choke the sprouting grain which are few & far between. Those who administrate have created their own nemesis by disregarding the laws of God.

The answer is simple. Because the people of the country have traded their God's Instructions to increase & Multiply as God said, Aborted His Gifts of offsprings, Traded it in for the wealth of this world. Hence Population decreasing & Immigration increasing to swell the population. But we all Know this -yet we continue.
---Emcee on 12/24/07

The levels of LEGAL immigration in to the US are no too high at around 900,500 per year and need to return to around 100,600 per year. Ramifications are that California will need to open one new school per day in perpetuity to cope with the problem. And this problem move into other states if unchecked consuming most of our remaining economic capacity. There is an excellent video on the Internet about this but we can't post URLs to it.
---notlaw99 on 12/23/07

In my pervious answer to this question I mentioned a very eye opening video I can't give you a URL but it is on Google Videos do a search for:
If you take the time to look at it you will have a better understanding of the ramifications of inaction by Congress on immigration quotas.

Dorothy, I agree that God is the one who owns Earth, but the bible says to obey the laws of the land. It is against the law to come into the United States to live without government permission. Many illegals sneak in and live without paying taxes and are a drain on society. And many are criminals that you wouldn't want living here much less in your personal neighborhood. The ones that come here legally and obtain permission and pay taxes, I have no problem with. As long as they don't break the law.

From your many blog entries, I thought you were a Christain. But after this last, I see that I was wrong.
---matthew on 12/21/07

Nishant, the USA has never had a religious test for immigrants. But it has had racial tests in the past.
---InimicusStultitiae on 12/21/07

Catherine, I wholeheartedly agree.

Hi y'all, this may get me in some hot water with some, but my issue isn't with whether the person immigrating to the US is a Christian, but how our own government spends millions taking care of illegals who pop out babies right and left while neglecting our soldiers and our own citizens! That makes my blood boil and I better go turn down the temperature lol :D
---Mary on 12/21/07

This democratic republic was set up to allow all people the freedom to worship whom they chose, or not to worship, or not chose any god. In that respect this country more perfectly represents God than any other country, kingdom, in history. But it is not a christian nation, only individual's can be Christian.
---dan on 12/21/07

As for me I believe in the constitutional seperation of church and state. All policy, like those regarding immigration I hold to the constitution.

1. I ask liberals, "Do we make policy based on national security, or compassion?

2. I ask religious conservatives, the same thing....
---MikeM on 12/21/07

In the Bible over and over it tells us to be good, treat well aliens. The Bible also clearly sends us out to give the Good News.
The thing wrong with the church today is exactly that we are so buzy with the Church we are not doing the will of CHRIST

I do not know. But if the U.S had more true Christians than the other, we could go to bed at nights with our doors unlocked and walk the streets at nights without fear. God's blessing would rain down upon this nation. Instead, all this nation has to look forward to, is God's Judgment upon it. I know no one believes that. I guess you will find out.
---catherine on 12/21/07

Jesus came and Preached the Gospel. Jesus' followers were never called Christians. They were called "disciples". All of the religions of GOD Almighty taught the Oneness of GOD Almighty, who also created Jesus and everything thats between the earth and the sky.
---Sheila on 12/21/07

Our duty as Christians is to bring others to Christ. One way to do this is to allow non-Christians into our land. Also, it is not "our" country. Rather, the entire world belongs to He who created it.

God bless.
---Dorothy on 5/16/07

People often refer to the U.K. as a Christian nation but it certainly is not. However, even if it were, we would be wrong to keep out non-Christians. How are non-Christians ever to be evangelized if Christians keep Jesus (and their country) to themselves? That is not what we are told to do. "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel" and sometimes God brings the world to us instead.

I must add:
The past history of so-called 'Roman Catholic countries' (e.g., SPAIN) and a 'protestant' one often caused a person claim to believe something they did not! We do not want FALSE believers in our churches, only those who truly love God! Such countries often produced great abuses of power ('in the name of God!'); even killings of those who did not believe! That won't save someone; I'd hope that we can show more people our love and have them love God because of it.
---Daniel on 4/13/05

The US immigration law does not exclude by religion. Where would you get the idea that it did?
---Madison on 4/5/05

If you think that the USA is a "christian nation" you need to do more research.
---Bruce on 4/5/05

I think we should consider the parable of the Good Samaritan. He was from another race, and another religion. He was despised by the Jews.

And yet it was he who gave help to the Jew.

So must we as Christians be neighbours to all, perhaps especially to non-Christians from other countries.

That is what love is about

It's different now than Puritan times. Not everyone in the government is a believer, therefore not everything done is godly. But even if it were, we wouldn't want to exclude nonChristians in hopes they would receive the gift we did...Jesus Christ.
