Where are the deaths in Christ

Where are the deaths in Christ? My view is: they are alive in spirits or souls in heaven with Christ Jesus waiting for their resurrection at the End Times. I interpret the records of the transfiguration, the Parable of Lazarus and Hebrew 12:1 as the evidences for my belief. What do you think?

LOOK AT 1thes:5:23:" Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely;& may your whole spirit, soul,& body be preserved blameless at the comming of our Lord Jesus Christ"NKJV Looking at that & also at dan ch 12, we are "resting" until Jesus returns, but when we die it seems like an instant then we wake up to Jesus! like gonig to sleep at night& can't believe its morning, SO IMO we wait until Christs return, besides with Lazarus if he were in Heaven, why come back to life if he were already in a happy place?

jana: Read:
Hebrews 12:22But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
23To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Pek, can you show me in the bible the text that says that? My bible tells me that the dead in Christ are in their graves turned into dust. Their breath/numa has returend to God who made it.

Their spirit is presently with Christ, but their body and soul remain behind on earth, until that time that the Lord will call for the dead to rise. (Mark 12:30; Acts 17:25; I Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 4:12).

the bible says when we die, we stay in the grave..back to dust till the day Christ returns and calls us up first to meet Him in the air with our new bodies 1Cor15:51,52,53. then the living in Christ rises up to meet the resurrected with Christ in the air to live with Him a 1000 years...Read Rev 20 and 21

Because I am already IN Christ and seated now in heavenly places in Him, I believe that when I breathe my last breath I will be instantly in the presence of the Lord, while my body stays down here waiting for the resurrection.

they have gone back to dust...when Jesus comes again, He can easily recreate us into brand new perfect living bodies..Noone goes to heaven after death, their bodies lie in the grave and turn to dust...and they know nothing

In the book of revelation 20 and 21, When we die our breath our spirit goes back to god, untill, christ returns. Remember when god created adam, he breath into his nostril and he became a living soul, well that same breath goes back to him who made us all, untill jesus returns. So we sleep, we are unconscios, we know nothing untill he comes.

Brenda: Yes, the bodies will be literal! On the resurrection morn (1st or 2nd) God will resurect man (generic) by recombining the breath of life with the dust and the result will again be LIVING SOULS = people.

I've often wondered myself about this. If our earthly bodies have been underground and decayed for years and centuries, are these bodies going to arise from our graves literally? I appreciate your ideas/beliefs.

My family and I deeply believe in the Resurecton and the Judgement at Christ's Resurrecton. We lost a wife or sister-in-law to cancer which left our brother with 3 young children. I day doesn't go by that we don't see evidence of this Resurrection in our lives via remembering and glorying in our loved one life with us on earth. We deeply miss her, but God has allowed us to mourn her so we are content until the day thereof. Just think to be able to show her the two beautiful grandsons she has. It just beyond my imagination even. So we are so looking forward to the time of the Resurrection

I agree with Ann. The bible says "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord".When my Mother died I talked to a lot of Christians because I felt so distraught about her just laying there asleep or dead. It's NOT TRUE! Our spirit goes immediately to heaven and we are with Jesus Christ. When He returns, the dead (or asleep) in Christ will rise first, but they will have new bodies and they will meet their spirit in the sky. Then those left that are Christians will rise and we will be given new bodies immediately. I hope I go that way. In the Rapture!

1Thess 4:13-18 reveals that God doesn't want us to be ignorant concerning them who are asleep. To be asleep or dead means to not have breath life in the body. At Christ's return, he will draw up those who are asleep first, then they who are alive will meet them in the air. God is not confusing. If He says them who are asleep will be raised to life, then that means they were dead and could not have been in heaven. Their spirit is simply the spirit of God (holy spirit). Spirit can not abide in a dead person. It simply returns to where it came from, God. Hope this helped. Love in Christ Jesus, Tim

Let us see what the Bible says:
1 Thess.4:15,16 Those sleeping in Jesus rise up at His 2nd coming. At death, the body returns to dust and the breath of life returns to God.Ecc.12:7. Note it does not say that God "gave" a soul to man but that he made him a (living soul). As for the ID of the Spirit,it is the same as the breath of life.

Lazarus was raised to show the glory of God. If I was dead and with the Lord, if I was told I would be returning to glorify Him, I'd go in a heartbeat, knowing I'd be back with Him one day. I'm not lying dead and cold in my grave until He returns. I will be with Him rejoicing, celebrating, praising.

Scripture reads that their spirit is with Christ in heaven, but their body and soul is here on earth.
