I should thing that God loves all of His creation equally--including angles, be they acute, obtuse, reflex, or right.

Except possibly in Flatland.

I don't know what God sees in any of us! What is God? He is Creator. And what are we? His creative beings. We are nothing more than a speck of dust. God said, ["He is going to make me different than all other Christians], and He has. He can kill, He can torture, He can lift-up and He can bring-down, If you mess-up, He can send you back where you came from. [He told the Isralites the same thing]. He can save you or He can pass you by. He can give you joy, make you laugh. He can make you cry. God does not need us. So what in this world does He see in us. We are much more trouble than we are worth. Yet, "For God so love the world [His people], that He gave His only begotten Son, for His lost sheep". Hallelujah+

The word Translated to angels - elohim can be translated as the Majestic Plural for God or as angels. In Hebrews 2:9 when it says Jesus was lower than the angels it is the greek work angelos which def means angel. But we need to step back if the book of Hebrews was writen to the Hebrew people (which it was) then the autograph was prob written in Hebrew so it again would have been the word elohim. As far as judging the angels it is my guess it will be the fallen angels not the obedient cause they will need no judgment. We are created in the image of God but that is obviously not literal and it does not say the angels are not created in the image of God so it is an open debate. I feel it should be rendered God not angel but it is only a feeling.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-13 (King James Version)
9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish, because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Please Wake up! before it's too late!

Hebrews 2:6-8
6But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him?

7Thou madest him a little lower than the angels, thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

8Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

We do command angels with the Word of God. They are sent to minister to us as we use God's word. They will respond to and only to, God's Word and to do His will in this world.
---tim on 5/14/09

Angels encamp round about the righteous, and they minister to us. They guard us and fight for us, they can feed us, they can free us from prison, and bring messages from God to us. Gabriel spoke to Mary and told her that she would give birth to Jesus. The archangel will anounce the Second Coming of Christ. In Revelation they are pouring out vials of plagues upon the earth. But in the afterlife, we will be their judges.

"Were humans created 'lower' than angles?" No.

Man was 'Made' lower - caused to decreased in quality. Why?

For the same reason Jesus took upon himself the form of a man rather than an angel, to allow for the mental, physical, & emotional pain & hardship usually associated with or to the death experience.

"Does God love man more than he loves angels?" No, He simply has a different purpose & plan for man. See Heb.2:6-11

Clarification of my prior post.
The line that reads "associated with or to the death experience."
Should read "associated with or to the 'Mortal' death experience."

Does God love man more than he loves angels?
---sue on 6/28/07

Man wasn't even created when there was this big "fuss". Lucifer (Satan) tried to elevate himself higher than God, and that just isn't done. We are lower than the angels. Even Jesus in His human form was lower than the angels He created.
---Ann5758 on 6/28/07

Humans ARE lower than angels. Satan fell because he thought he was better than God (he said I AM GOD). Read your HOLY BIBLE, it IS in there.
---Leslie on 1/7/07

While Jesus was on earth, he WILLINGLY gave up his power and became lower than the angels. He's not lower than they are now, and at any time during his first advent he could've reclaimed his power and commanded the angels. But he didn't. His giving up of his power is fundamental to his sacrifice, for with this power he would not have lived as a man.
---david8576 on 4/23/06

Angels are created higher than man in a physical sense. Angels are powerful beings. Man is frail. However, man is higher than the angels in the sense that we are created in the likeness and image of God.Angels are ministering spirits to man.
---Rick on 6/16/05

Well as far as Milton and Vondel are concerned, Lucifer was jalous of the priveliges Man would receive from God, and that god would turn aside his trusty Angels so easily and ungratefully. Wouldn't this mean that, especially when he's omniscient, he'd should have explained his intentions rather than expecting than expecting his lessers to follow him blindly. As the Old Testament is telling God isn't a loving character, and we are all to be god fearing rather than God Loving

"But we see Jesus, Who was made a little lower than the angels...." "For verily He took not on Him the nature of angels; but He took on Him the seed of Abraham." Hebrews 2:9 & 16.

Ann,how could Christ be lower than the angels?he was God in human form while on earth.God made his son lower than the angels?say what?

Scripture is clear that man was "created lower than the angels" in Psalm 8:5. Paul shows that these angels are His ministering spirits sent forth to minister to those who are heirs of salvation. Hebrews 1:7, 13 & 14; 2:7, 9, 16-18. In the results of salvation, man is revealed to end up higher than the angels. God has provided more than we can think or ask.

Yes! -- We were made in God's image before the fall into sin (Gen. 3). Yes! -- Angels serve God. But they minister to (do not serve) us based on God's will (not ours). God commands His angels. We don't. Yes! -- When Christians are elevated (are resurrected & put on incorruptable, imperishable bodies). To date, we have not been resurrected & subsequently have no authority over angels.

It must be greater significance to be created in GOD's image. Angels are to serve God and humans or they are messengers of God. They are called things (Rev about the creatures standing in front of the throne). Paul said when we are elevated, we would judge even angels. How would they not be lower than humans? At the feast in Heaven, we shall see the difference.

Strong's Concordance says Elohiym (God) was sometimes used specifically as a superlative (an exaggeration, hyperbole). The psalmist may've been thinking about God's great universal expanse & wanted to express a sense of man's comparative littleness. When I read Ps. 8, vs. 5 I hear "Your (ELOHIYM'S) angels" versus "the angels". I believe the angels mentioned are the obedient 2/3, the godly angels, God's ministering spirits. Man is indeed lower than God's angels (His universal messengers & instruments) through which His judgments are enforced & His will is done.

I don't think any mistake was made when the word angels was used...Christ Himself, in human form, was lower than the angels.

I know that the King James version says "angels" in that scripture, but if you will check your Strong's Concordance, the word is actually "elohim" which is the plural Hebrew word for God, as referred to in Genesis 1 (let US make man in OUR image) which refers to the Trinity. Man was created a little lower that God, and the angels are ministers to serve those who will be heirs of salvation (us). I guess the translators got a little nervous with that phrase but it is true. God gave man the dominion over the earth; He didn't give dominion to angels.
