no thats just a choice.the unpardonable sin is blasphemy against the holy spirit.or as sripture says attributing the work or works of the holy spirit too satan.
---tom2 on 6/27/08

there is only one sin that God can't forgive, and that is the continual hardening of the heart against God, a refusal to repent, of not allowing God to forgive us. this is shown in various places; Matthew 12:31, Hebrews 6:4, etc. if you are worried about it, that proves you have not done it.

The scriptures state that all manner of sin will be forgiven except blasphemy against the Holy Ghost (Matt. 12:31).

If we deny Christ, He will also deny us (2Tim 2:12). The sentence continues: 2Tim 2:13 states that even if we don't believe, Christ remains faithful. Christ cannot deny that He died for each of His children.

The thing he denies us in verse 12 is blessings here in time.

If Christ paid for something it would be an injustice if he didn't get to receive it.

The unpardonable sin is rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
---Cheryl on 10/3/07

The Unpardonable Sin is---Sin that is beyond forgiveness. If you are concern about it, you probably have not committed it. The sin is--Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit or HARDNESS of HEART. To persistently ignore or discredit His work in one's life. The person who blasphemes the Holy Spirit chooses to reject Christ. That person's heart becomes so hard that it is DEAD to GOD.

The unpardonable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. This is rejecting the work of the Holy Spirit in a person or yourself.
---Matthew on 3/26/07

I do not believe there is anybody alive that knows what the unpardonable sin is because that is 'the sin unto death' and we are not told what that is.
---gregg on 3/24/07

The unpardonable sin is the refusal to except the prompting of the Holy Spirit to except the atoning sacrifice of Jesus.
---skeeta on 4/21/06

I was understanding that the unpardonable sin
was not excepting Jesus as you personal lord and saviour.Have I understood wrong?
---glady5446 on 6/3/05

We know the unpardonable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. He testifies to truth and is the One who reveals it. The truth is that Jesus is the Son of God and Messiah, if we reject this truth, we commit blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. We in essence call Him a liar and reject Christ. The rejection of Jesus is the only sin which cannot be forgiven because Jesus "is the Way, truth and life and no one can come to the Father but by Him." John 14:6

please do your homework, everyone. the unforgivable sin is a continual hardening of the heart, a refusal to be forgiven. that is what Jesus was warning against in matthew 12.
---curt on 5/3/05

If you had commited it, you wouldn't even be wondering about it...xox

Blaspheming against the Holy Ghost. Matt12:32: And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. The next one is Suicide. How can you ask for forgiveness when you're dead? And...there is no such thing as someone praying you out of purgatory.

refering to the miricles of Jesus while he was in body form on earth saying those were of the devil was the unpardonable sin. Jesus no longing in his flesh body one can not ccommit that sin today as some believe. While the rejection unto death of the works of the Holy spirit in our or others lives and not coming to God for salvation would be a sin unto the second death and at that point unpardonable. However as said before a single act us not having Christ in body form with us today we dont have to worry about committing that sin anymore..imo

Matt 12:31,32 Luke 12:10. Jesus meant what He said. There is an "unpardonable sin" and it is giving credit to Satan for the work of the Holy Spirit. In this case the pharisies, who KNEW that Jesus was who He claimed to be, did not want to surrender their place of authority and have people submit to Jesus instead. So, they deliberatly and knowingly attributed the work of the Holy Spirt to Satan in an attempt to discredit Jesus. This was not a casual or accidental "sin" but a deliberate rejection of the Messiah.

First of all one has to understand whay blasphemy means, speaking evil of God. Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost means giving Satan the glory of miracles of which Jesus perfomed by the finger of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. People accused Jesus of blaspheming against God. Because he perfomed miracles, and they said it was from Satan.

worrying about it proves that you have not done it.
---steve on 4/23/05

It is attributing the godly works of the Holy Spirit to the enemy. "Therefore I say to you, all manner of sin and profaning will be forgiven to men, but the spirit of desecration will not be forgiven. And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks a word against the Holy Ghost, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, neither in that to be." Matthew 12:31,32.

I am so sorry about your sister. Is this your real sister or a sister in Christ? No matter, as long as your sister insists in believing what she wants and to do what she wants the Lord will reluctinglyy let her go! BUT, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, because she has a loving, praying sister, there is hope for her until Jesus ends his advocacy. It is indeed a gradual process with many opportun ities to turn around. May the Lord help you carry this heavy burden!

there are a lot of misconceptions about unforgivable sin, but as with the verses i gave before, it is not a sin we do, but it is the refusal to be forgiven of sin, that is what God cannot forgive. this is what those verses speak of.

I know that the Bible says that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. And I have always believed this to be a gradual process of rejecting His promptings. Lately however I have wondered if my sister has committed this sin. She began by denying the Trinity esp. the Spirit, then the diety of Christ. Now she has rejected all sound doctrines but believes herself to be right with God. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The context of Math.12:31-32 indicates that "blasphemy" against the H.S., meaning to speak hurfully against the that sin. The work of the H.S. is to convict us of sin and lead us to confess and forsake our sins. If we chose to persistently harden our hearts and to resist Him, we will in fact committ the unpardonable sin, sin we refuse to ask for forgiveness for, willful sin which we cherish. In that case, God finally gives us up to our tragic choice.

The only unpardonable sin is " Rejecting Christ as your saviour. The way you call tell if you have committed it is by rejecting him. Hope this helps. God Bless
---Anna on 4/23/05

"IF" you have received Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, and have asked Him to forgive you for your sins, then, you shouldn't worry about the "unpardonable" sin, as you cannot commit it! The unforgiveable sin Jesus was talking about concerned the Pharisees accusing Him of casting out demons in the name of beelzebub. To accuse the Holy Spirit of being of satan is the unforgiveable sin. As I said, a believer in Jesus Christ cannot commit this sin.
---tommy3007 on 4/23/05

unpardonable sin is sinning against the Holy Spirit. People sin against the Holy Spirit when they do not exept Christ as their Saviour. If you are saved you never did or will commit this sin. God bless

The unpardonable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Read Matt.12:31, Mar.3:28-29, Luk.12:10 Greek meaning of blasphemy is defamation or evil-speaking. To call good evil.
---Christine on 4/23/05

The unpardonable sin is lying against the Holy Spirit. Like saying that Satan did something that you know that only God could Do for you. If you are truly born again, you cannot commit the unpardonable sin. Since you are concerned about it, it is very likely that you have not done this, and that the Holy Spirit is still convicting your heart about things, and He is not through working with you.
---EJ on 4/23/05

To sin against the Holy spirit is unforgivable. To not feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, His power,His love is to know He has gone.............
