Ever Analyzed The Blog Responses

Have you ever analyzed the responses you get from posting a question in the Blog? I posted a question on May 1,2005 and I got several responses that can roughly be categorized into four major categories, namely (1)explanatory, (2)"with the flow", (3) challenging, (4)"insultive".

Many people are very knowledgeable, bring good information to a topic and are able to rationally discuss varying points of view. These I enjoy and appreciate.

Others string nonsense non-sentences together mixed with Bible references to prove their point or disprove yours.

A few just tell you you're going to Hell if you don't think just as they.

I was taught if you cannot stand the heat, please STAY out of the KITCHEN!!!! People have freedom of speech, opinions and thoughts. And are all too willing to share and sometimes, force their opinions on you and anyone else. Don't ask questions you are not prepared to hear various answers to.Everyone will not agree with you or think the way you do. That is my advice to you. Please take heed. Toughen up.

I don't analyze the blog responses.
Paralysis by analysis. There are so many hardheaded bloggers, with strong opinions.
How many enjoy other responses as much as their very own?

What I want to know, how many are waiting on edge over the weekends for their answers to appear on Mondays? I bet some don't know what to do with themselves when they can't blog!
---lovable_linda on 12/4/07

I could follow the road that I was standing guard at. When I opened the door, the people standing around were the people I expected; wise thoughtful people. I'm hooked on these blogs. You are creating a mind.

How refreshing to read a new person's appreciation for the explanative type of blog answers. There are some responders that only "approve" of all Scripture in response to a query. They are quick to surmise that one has no spiritual depth or background to counsel/advise; thinking it is not necessary to try to connect with another personally with an answer. I hope you all continue to exhort & encourage one another with speaking God's love & Word.

Hey, you forgot this category: the reply has not a blessed thing to do with the question.
When I see a really nasty kind of reply I am most tempted to reply RUDE DOG Strikes Again. This rude humor is rampant on some other forums and is considered funny patterned after a couple of TV shows, which I won't mention, where they actually insult each other and poke fun at any opportunity.

Hello Barbra: Two terms were put inside qoutation marks because i am not sure if these were the right term. I have to translate feelings described by my own dialect as much as possible with closest meaning to the English language. The question posted helped me a lot. Now, I realized further that any response is dependent upon the question. Thank you, folks, for sharing your ideas with me.
---linda6546 on 5/12/05

Incredible - I have posted several blogs and most people's replies are very helpful and display concern and caring. The other blogs I actually read - these are not as intimidating because I didn't post the blog.
But sometimes like you, I may find an answer insulting --- until I have prayed over it. Then I realize an incredible truth about someone is being presented. Love is never "rude". Thanks for your blog.

Hello, Rex: I understand that you are blind (from the Blog you posted) and am wondering how you manage to "see" the computer screen. Information technology has developed so fast that it amazed me, really. While typing this, I am still wondering. A friend of mine in college is now blind because of MS. She employed an assistant to read for her. Are you doing the same?
---linda6546 on 5/11/05

Rex, we 'oldies' on the Forum are very happy to have you with us, welcome my brother! And all the other newbies that have joined us, nice to meet you Lupe. Speaking of Linda's english Rex, I must say you type very well for a sightless person :) God bless us all!
---NVBarbara on 5/11/05

LOL, I just have to say that for someone who doesn't speak English, linda6546 is doing an awesome job of communicating. I wish we could all write and communicate that well. I do read a lot of well-written posts though and this is very educational and very insightful. Glad I took the time to check the forum out.
---rex3859 on 5/11/05

Indeed, you are right, Lupe. The answers I got from the questions I posted help me to understand my own situation. It also help me to see others' situation especially that the site we are using covers, I guess, the whole world "reachable" by the English Language. I also hope that the question I posted helps others.
---linda6546 on 5/10/05

Thank you, Pek, you are right!
---linda6546 on 5/10/05

Linda, it is wonderful to be able to help others. The responses I read are so helpful. I try to read as many as I can. Only if I know and have experienced on the subject do I answer. I wish I could do more. We all have different opinions and experiences and its up to the questioner to decide what will be more helpful to them. It has helped me a lot from certain brothers and sisters answers. Very useful tool for helping others.
---Lupe on 5/10/05

Dear Linda: Thanks for your responses! I hope what I said was a help. That is the only way I mean it to be. I surely learn from this Blog also. Have a great day!
---Elsie on 5/9/05

Thank you, Gregg, for that "remark from the Bible". Indeed it hits the point.

Well, responses of any kind should be expected when posted into this forum. In fact, through this all participants can widen their knowledge and sharpen their wisdom. All contributors are genuine and sincere and kind to even make responses. Their views have substance. Would you be insulted when the posting is found naivete? I was called that in other forums (sites). Anyway, the Blog would have vetted all our postings before these appear here. You will find more insulted if yours are left out due to their being sensitive or abhorent.
---Pek on 5/8/05

There is something written in the bible that Jesus said to his mother that people seem to take as an arrogant remark. 'Woman, what do I have to do with you? Do you not know that I must be about my Father's business.' My father would have let me know right away what he thought about that kind of remark and I am sure I would have felt a little pain.
---gregg4933 on 5/8/05

Hello Elsie: This is Part II. "Insult" might not be the right term. I am not an English speaker, and I am not so familiar with the nuances and "undercurrents" of the English language. But I am just categorizing it that way because that's how I felt after reading the response. But what makes me happy are the EXPLANATORY responses. One could feel that many are ready to share an idea or two to answer your question. What makes it more interesting is the balance between the one challenging you and the one siding with you. You will get a glimpse of personalities and mind-sets!
---linda6546 on 5/8/05

Hello Elsie. This is part I: The "Explanatory" I defined consisted of the responses who tried to answer the question (60%). The "in the flow" category (15%) are those responses that sides with the one posting the question by giving similar experiences. The "challenging category" gives responses that challenges, if not question the position of the one giving the question (15%). The "insultive" category (roughly 10%) gives responses that makes me feel insulted.

Thank you, DoryLory. I am also hoping that when I respond to other questions posted, I would be counted as one with the best intentions.
---linda6546 on 5/8/05

Thank you, RUSSEL for saying that you wish God would control your keyboard. I am also trying my best to understand responses especially that this site is visited by people of all "colors"(taken figuratively and literally). The "insulting" I defined is based on my reaction after reading the response. Of course, my reaction is dependent on my "present situation". I am not offend, though. I am taking it gracefully. I posted a question, I should be ready with the answer, right?
---linda6546 on 5/8/05

Am just very new to the Blog business and I am already liking it. True, I find this site interesting. Reacting to the question without the screen running upwards, and without other people disturbing (or asking for your attention as in the Chat room) your line of thoughts is somekind of a blessing. This exercises one's mind, isn't it. Thank you, Gregg, for stating what I feel.
---linda6546 on 5/8/05

Dear Linda, I pray that anything I share in this Blog is Holy Spirit led and reveals God's truth as the Lord Jesus would desire. I count on others who respond to this website to correct me if they think I am wrong or if they feel I am not encouraging God's people. This is an awesome opportunity and responsibility, as well as a great ministry, to serve and be served hopefully thru our Lord's direction. It is wonderful to have a challenging explanation to a question in "the flow" of the Holy Spirit. There is no excuse for us to be insulting to anyone. God forgive us!

I've found that without the ability to hear voice tones and inflections it can be easy at times to take something you read on the Internet as insulting when it isn't intended that way at all. This is especially true when you don't have a personal relationship with the author. I prefer to cut people slack and presume that they had the best of intentions when they typed up their responses.
---DoryLory on 5/7/05

Hi Linda, the answers people share with us are varied and give clues to the persons spiritual standing ,personality and intellect. But are usually interesting.God knows everyones heart and I pray I will never offend or give bad advice to anyone.May God control my keyboard.
