Ofcourse, in my own family. I just keep obeying God. When He says don't, I don't. When He says do, I do. That's it!

I may be one of those in which you speak. I don't have views, I just believe in what the whole bible says, literally. Other "views" just don't matter to me. I am not intolerant of anyone, but if their beliefs does line up with God's word, it is nothing.

If your an expert in the topic you are debating and you have gave creditable evidence to support your position and the person still doesn't change their position then you are wasting your time. If it is a faith based discussion, you are dealing with a person who is either demon possessed or has a strong hold that needs to be torn down.

Leave them in their own ignorance is probably your best bet. But if you like punushment, go ahead and debate with them and try to make a point. Pure torture and wasted time ie...JW, RCC. Sorry to make distinctions.

You could set rules, requiring each person taking an active part in a dialogue or debate, to have to present not only their viewpoints but to have to present the other persons' viewpoints from the strongest to th weakest. The first person's arguments would have to be presented from the weakest to the srongest.

I don't think anyone is questioning if someone is save or not. I believe that is between God and the person. I believe we all have an opinion. We are in different levels of learning. No one the same. Some know much more and they in turn have a word for us that God might want to teach us. He uses every part of the body of Christ to help each other. If I listen to someone's opinion I will check it to God's word and if I feel it is nothing then I just move on. Not offened because someone said something.

I really like what gregg4933 has to say. Have you ever read Job 32 through to the end? It was not a church elder that got through to Job in the end but a younger peritioner with quite a lot to say. The calamity stopped when Job finally realized that God is responsible for everything, okay, almost everything, God does not do bad things or cause bad things to happen.

Sometimes the word is not enough though and then you must put another's moccasins on the feet of the one who refuses to walk in tandem with the belief you want them to have or think they should have. You know, we could all be wrong about everything. There was one righteous man and his family at the time of the flood when the population was one million. One righteous man wasn't found in Soddom or Gomorrah. Scary thought huh?

You know I think it really depends on what kind of point you're trying to make. If it's a religious point, then yes, point them to the word of God. Remember that the KJV is not the only version of the Bible. Try to search multiple versions of Bibles to get the greatest meaning and understanding. Sometimes the NLT, GNT, MSG, BBE are awesome resources. check out the bible at cross walk.

By John Macarthur: "God's word is ready to be unleashed. Its ready to change the way you think which, in turn, changes the way you live. It's ready to be your anchor. Your teacher. your counselor. Your comforter. Your compass. But first you must understand what the Bible means by what it says. Its only when you dig into God's word.. that it's truth(and it's power) are unleashed in your life." you get to them with the truth.

I never question anyone's salvation. When I talk to a Christian about something, it is to make sure that they fight for God's right to rule. I know many are not really saved but that is between them and God. I am concern what the church does. Many pastors teach by getting some else's sermons and don't put in the work the way they should. When you look for books on Hermeneutics or theology you cannot find them in stores. You find someone's opinion. we need to be approve, so hard work is involve.

for nine years I didn't know about God's Sovereignty until a sister introduced it to me. Since then I have been able to answer many questions I had on the Bible. I stand on what Martin Luther said. "unless I am convicted by Scripoture and plain reason-I do not except the authority of popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other, my conscience is captive to the Word of God. God help me! Here I stand."

Curt, I have also seen your answers to others and I too see some good and some bad just like Dove. In your question you focus on others conduct instead of finding out if what others say is true. What I mean is, many people are sincere but that does not make them right. The J.W. are sincere but not right. Many use their feelings when they talk of God but with no substance or scriptures only because they don't know. I welcome anyone on discussions concerning the Sovereignty of God. Our opinion does not matter, God's meaning does.

Most of us spin in our own orbit. It is only when Jesus sets us free from ourselves that we can truly share His love with others. Nothing is ever accomplished by "getting through to such people" Only God can do it with His guidance and love. Just pray for them, then pray again! Our loving Father will change them.

i have an old friend like this, but he's changed over the years and has learned to hear other points of view. It use to be whenever i was in his presence he had to always be right and i wrong, in order for him to feel comfortable. i finally told him, "For now on whenever you want to talk to me, look in the mirror." It takes prayer and time but people can change.

Curt, I have been reading your answers to others, and some I did agree and some I did not agree. At first you were judging others and being harsh.. and that is hard to reach out and touch others in a christian way, Im glad to see now you see yourself in the mirror and it looks back at you. What you seen you did not like , God will change you if you ask him .. keep praying and see the results .. Dove

no, shira, i wasn't talking about you. i am referring to those who are hostile in the way they shove their beliefs into others as if no one is saved except them and those who agree with everything they think.

Silence is the key to winning an intolerant person. The Providence of God will allow the situation to come to the point where this person will have to rely on an action by you. Or maybe this person will be taken by their own words. So, you see, silence is key.
