Angels Are Holy And We Are Sin

Is it not true that the angels were born in Holliness, we were born in sin. We have choice now because of Adam & Eve, being born in Glory how did Lucifer choose because he was the Highest Angel & should have been willing to serve God more so than any of the other angels. What changed him?

His greed and ambition. He wanted to be greater than God. Angels have free choice too. One third decided to leave and go with him. Angels are not born. They are created beings, created to serve God & man, but they are not robots. They had the right to choose.

Angels were created holy, and humans were created with sin. Angels have free-will, just like humans.

Angels are an order. Mankind is a race (all blood related). Therefore, when an angel sins, there is no second chance. Christ died once for all mankind so that we may receive forgiveness for sin. There are a number of scholars that believe that Lucifer's pride was injured when God revealed His plan to create man in His own image and likeness. At this point Lucifer must have realized that the angels were created to be ministering spirits. This may be the reason that one third of the angels chose to rebel.

Thank you for eveyones responses. Yes,I do believe that angels were not born, they were created beings. I mentioned 'born' for lack of a better word when I was writing my question. I now have a better understanding!
Thank you!

The are several children's books available dealing with angels.

And Billy Graham's book
"Angels, Angels, Angels" is his study of the topic of angels.

Angels, as well as humans had a choice. They could have followed God, but some of them chose to follow the "Angel of light" - Lucifer! The differnce is, they walked day-to-day with God and still chose to fall! Man must make his choice without this walk with God, and do so through faith, based upon his hearing of the "Word" not a direct contact with God! This is "true" obedience as it comes through faith!

Adam had a choice, Eve had a choice; they chose wrong. They were expelled from the garden and had children. Cain had a choice, Abel did not. All of the choices that Lucifer had were not wrong choices, i.e. you can choose to be better than your father, but it is in how you accomplish that that determines your success. Let each one look to see how he builds his house.

Ann5758 - The King James Bible uses the words "timbrels and pipes" but my NIV does not. But, my Bible has a cross reference to Ezekiel 26:13 which says: "'I will put an end to the sound of your songs, and the sound of your harps shall be heard no more.'"

(Pt1) Karen - Yes, we do have a choice but Lucifer and the angels also had a choice. The Bible says that Lucifer had a "will" to ascend to heaven. That speaks of choice.

Isaiah 14:13&14 - "You said in your heart, 'I WILL ascend to heaven; I WILL raise my throne about the stars of God; I WILL sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I WILL ascend above the tops of the clouds; I WILL make myself like the Most High.'"

(Pt2) Lucifer chose to revolt against God. He willed it ... it was his decision. He wanted to be like God ... that's pride. That was his downfall, that's what changed him.

Elder, sorry...I don't see anything at all about music in Eze.28, and nothing in the vs specified (13). Could you please check your references & confirm or not? I'm interested in reading about it. Thanks.

Lupe had it right. Perhaps you should reread that post.

That is exactly what Paul taught in Romans. We were born slaves to sin, but as Christians we are now free not to sin.
---Bruce5656 on 5/16/05

I am going to assume a small language difficulty made you write that we don't have a choice...
We always have a choice: to remain sinners or to accept freedom from sin through Christ. He came to set us free from the slavery of sin and you can CHOOSE to accept or refuse!
---Pierr7958 on 5/16/05

Angels are not born (in holyness). They are created beings. Ps. 8;4-5
They and we have freedom of choice.
Adam and Eve were not born (in glory) either. They were created by God.
Lucifer was the "top" angel but like all the others he was free to chose, to honor his Creator or to rebel, which he choose to do.
What changed Lucifer: PRIDE which goes before the fall!
---Pierr7958 on 5/16/05

The angels were created holy, we are now born in sin from the fall of Adam. we don't have a choice because we are slave's to sin. when we are born again we again have a choice just as Adam did before the fall. That is why the apostles keep telling us to do certain things because we now know what is wrong and right. What changed Lucifer was that he like Adam and Lucifer choose to rebel against God allowing sin to enter the world.

Were angels born or just created? I thought one of the main differences between man and angels is that man has a birthday and angels are created. "What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man the You visit him?
For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And you crowned him with glory and honor.
Psalm 8:4 & 5

In a word PRIDE.

However, that does not answer the question how an angel created holy (vs born - there is no evidence that angels are born)could sin.

There is lots of speculation and religious theories but you will not find a scriptural answer for this question.
---Bruce5656 on 5/16/05

First Angels were not born. They were all created by God. They do not have mothers, fathers, sister or brothers.

Next the sin came from pride. Then, Satan called the "Prince of Tyrus" in Eze 28 used his intelligence to persuade other Angels to follow him. In Verse 14 it is plainly stated that this Prince was a cherub which is an Angel.

Read Eze 28:1-19. Satan can also create music see v13, tabrets and pipes are musical instruments.

Lucifer's great beauty and pride came before God's will and our Lord cast him out of heaven? God simply will not allow anything to come between Him and His perfection. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." (Exodus 20: 3-6). God's angels serve and praise Him 100% of the time. Obviously Lucifer never got over it; he still thinks he can get the upper hand. Praise God, for His Son Jesus who sets us free from this deceitful liar.
