I suggest you read the book "Spirit Led Eating" by Erling "Len" Fredrickson

Carol: Be careful with the water intake as you can actually become toxic. It is a solvent and can wash out necessary vitamins and minerals required for your body to function. I have seen this treated in my work many times and it can cause death. Keep a close check on how you feel and be careful. Blessings:)

Try minced beef and kidney beans.
Add salt/seasoning to taste if necessary to meat.
boil kidney beans until soft.
boil minced meat(of your choice) throw off the water and place in a frying pan with a few spays of one cal oil spray or olive oil.
(Not everyone boils their meat but I do as this gives you the virtually fat free version)
Chop onions, garlic, sweet peppers, lightly fry together place a few mushrooms in add the kidney beans.
Add a pasta sauce and let simmer when satisfied it has all cooked and softened.
Eat with either rice or butternut squash.
This is the tame version I use hot pepper and herbs.( unless you like food spicy) do not use pepper.

I've lost 18 pounds so far on "the christian diet". It shows you how to get the truth from your head into your heart. You should check it out.

Romans 14:17: "...for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."

I started my diet last week today. My weight loss this past week was 7 lbs. For calorie intake I am following weight watchers because I find that to be the easiest to follow. I am journaling everything I eat, and starting each journal entry with scripture. I am also praying for God to intervene. Another important thing I added with my diet this time is water. I am drinking 100 ounces of water a day and I really think it is making the difference. I feel like I have more energy. The rule with the pure water intake(without drink mixes) is to divided your weight by 2 and drink that amount in ounces (not to exceed 100 ounces.) Try it... I can't stand plain water, but I prayed about it, and you know what, I'm really starting to like it now.

I would love to read more from Maryln and Sam about their journey. I am a lady of small stature (only 5' at most) and I continually struggle to keep mt weight under control. My family has a bad history of heart disease and cancer, so I try to do all I can to stay healthy. I'm not extremely overweight, and some people think I am just paranoid, but I am trying to look ahead.
God Bless, Chris

Some simple things are first, increase your metabolism (heart beats) through increased activity or work or exercise or walking. Second, decrease heavy desserts and replace them with lighter ones. Cut out all butters, and as much oils as possible, and decrease sodium (salt) and sugar, and all corn syrup- check the ingredients on the labels and if the sodium is high and sugar is high and there is corn syrup in it, then do not buy it. I also heard suggestion not to eat right before sleeping because your body slows down during sleep and will not burn off the food eaten, but I don't think there is much support for this because your body still functions and breaks food down while your sleeping.

I lost 65 lbs. + in the last year and 2 months. From 210 lbs to 145 lbs. It was a diet/herb plan to eliminate cancer, which it apparently did, since it can't be found, now. I continued the weight loss, by following Eydie Mae Hunsberger's diet, mostly ("How I Conquered Cancer Naturally"). She ate fruit for breakfast and supper. At lunch, she had a big green salad, with sprouts, beans, etc. Of course, garlic and onions. She drank rejuvelac, a soaked wheat water. She also drank wheatgrass juice. I do most of that, and stray, sometimes. But not too often. I walk or do something an hour a day, unless I am really exhausted. Write me, ask questions, any info I know that will help is yours.

I would suggest a Vegan diet. It is full of compassion, grace, love and peace. It is wonderful how the choice to go vegan gave me such peace about my choices and the pride to make even more positive changes. You cannot thrive on the suffering of others.

Although many of these scriptures are good. In the end, "YOU" have to find the scripture that "speaks" to your situation/demons. We all must seek & research the scriptures for ourselves to find the PROMISE that pertains to our victory. I'm certain the Holy Spirit will lead you to them.. but seek ye first the kingdom of God... Best wishes in your endeavor.

Stay away from restaurants and diners,
fast food joints, gas station foods and donut shops.
Make your own food, don't eat while commuting or computing. No need to bypass your gastric. I know people who are now very grumpy, mean and depressed constantly because of it. Sad but true, some are gaining all that weight back. Lose weight with God's help.

Try Devotions for Dieters, also the Lord's Table. (type in a search engine and you should find them.)

Hi,...I was looking on here for scriptures also, but I think a good look over into a concordance will help. I also bought a book and workbook called "Spirit-led eating" and it's wonderful. You might look into it. I have recently joined weight watchers also, just for the accountability.

2 Corinthians 6:19 says your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, it does not belong to us. God has given you your body on loan and it is our duty to take very good care of it. Since I got an understanding of that scripture I have lost 26 pound in less than four weeks (praise be to God, in the name of Jesus). Exercise and Eat what you know is good for you. You don't have to buy someone's books or go to anyone's gym to lose weight. If you don't know what food is good for you, go read a nutrition book.

Time to do a Bible study on prayer.
The more we read our Bible the less we think about food!!!!
I think that verses in Proverbs are the most interesting in the diet thing.
Proverbs 23 is neat. Proverbs 23:1-3
6-8, 19-21, 29-35,
There is more.

Atkins pulled out of U.K. recently. They had really bad publicity, much of it untrue and brought about by fear that he was taking sales away from other manufacturers. The very strict part of Atkins only lasts for 14 days, but this is never mentioned by those who are against the diet. You slowly introduce back into your diet many other foods. If you follow it accurately and drink all the water he suggests it works and you won't feel hungry. I agree with those who quote Phil 4:13.

Four months ago, I also cried out in desperation to G-d for help regarding my health and weight. Thru some wonderful Christian Health Ministers, I entered a Vegan diet program, exercise and have lost 41 pounds and no longer take any medication.
