Well, some of God's people in the Bible didn't always act too swift. It is a very slow, slow, slow, process. When we talk of not giving up, really we are talking of not giving up on God. Which at times can be a great temptation. Determination can only get you a very little ways. It really is about God helping us. God is always saying that to me, "I will help you". Another one is, "trust me" He is big on that one too. This does not mean that everything will be whoopy woo. I guess we all know that by now, don't we?

A mature Christian is someone who has been on this journey for a while. Knows the Word of God and practices it. You can see Jesus in them, so to speak. They are bearing fruit and are content and satisfied with Jesus. They are not sin-free but totally dependent on Christ for all their needs.

A mature Christian is more and more living a righteous and holy life. The best definition you will find. Note: Faith and holiness goes together.

A mature christian's first question when facing storms of life or making important decisions should be "What would Jesus Do"? A person that not only talks the talk, but walks the walk. And last but not least our life should reflect the love of Jesus in our life so that when an unbeliever sees the light of Christ in us, they see something different about us and are drawn to what they do see in us so much that they want to know how to have that peace and inner joy that they see in their own life.

I am mature, by loving like this > "And I will very gladly spend and be spent for your souls, though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved." (2 Corinthians 12:15)

and relating like this > "nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." (1 Peter 5:3)

A sign of an immature Christian is one who seeks what they should be giving. A sign of a mature Christian is somebody who is giving what they should be giving. Do you seek or give encouragement? Do you seek or give love? Do you seek or give generosity?

The characteristics of a mature Christian is the nature of Christ developed in each of us. Our goal should be to come to the full stature of Christ>read Eph 4:13-15.. speaaking the trurh in love.. growing up in Him and growing more like Him. We do this by spending time in His presence.. looking into His face .. especially through His word. Also He has given us minisrty gifts.. fivefold ministers to help us grow... annie6483

A mature Christian is one who moves from needing the "milk" of Scripture to KNOWING God's will through the power of the Holy Spirit, who lives the Galatians 5:22-26 life, who doesn't strive to attain this on their own but lets God have His way, who wants to obey God and share Him with others, who asks "What Would Jesus Do?", who thinks of God first before self, who is disciplined in praying diligently, studying and meditating upon the Word, and loving God with all their heart.

Second. Hebrews 11 says about the faith. We should look for the Bible`s heroes -Abel, Noah, Abraham, Moses etc. Rom.4:3 "Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness". To believe means not only believe that God is, but Greece word means to trust God completely,to let Him to lead you and follow Him everywhere, to give your life for His plans etc. Grow up in Christ and be blessed.

First. Dear Linda, we Christians have spiritual age like a physical one. 1 John 2:12-14 - little children, young men and fathers. + youth in Russian version because of Greece original text. Who are you? What is your spiritual age now? Try to test (verses 13 & 14 for fathers) - to know God, Who is from beginning. That is much more than just to know the Father or to have overcome the wicked one. And to have The Holy Spirit and the fruit (Gal.5:22)

The servant is as his master, so the mature Christian is like Christ. The instruments to use to become this are: prayer in the Spirit and surrendering to him; Bible study; worship in Spirit and in truth; singing spiritual songs; and doing his will.

Dear Linda,
I'm a spirit filled Christian since 1958 and still learning every day. Being his disciple is release everything and being obidient to the will of God (like Jesus did). It's a growing process, to be like Jesus. Let your prayers grow to a dialog and Jesus will show you what you still have to release in your life. That's growing........
