I'm going floating on the river,
It's going to be a 110 tommorow!
---Duane_Dudley_Martin on 5/18/08

This time of the year is a great time to get out of the house, away from the computer and experience life.
All blogs and no play, make Jack a very dull boy.
---J_P on 5/16/08

JP: God bless you, and I will say a prayer for you and your family also as soon as I am done writing this.
---sue on 8/17/07

Make time for yourself for a special kind of prayer. The prayer of enjoyment. For example just spend some time outside, somewhere peaceful, and stop thinking of everything, except that life is amazing - beautiful, mysterious, energizing - and that this all comes from God. Then just look at everything around you as well as the details of things around you. Just relax in God's presence. This all sounds wishy-washy. But if you try it a few times, it is amazing.

The point is that the soul needs to be refreshed and energized by God. Don't forget the wonderful and inspiring transfiguration. The Bible is full of song. It is full of joy. Although we must suffer, we are also allowed to be joyful too. And that isn't the same as hedonism or anything like that. But the good joy that God gives us, when we need it.

Sue, I'm glad that you have a wonderful family. I'll pray for all of you. J P
---J_P on 8/14/07

J.P. dont feel bad you're not alone. Me and my husband also never got to go on a honeymoon or even have a nice wedding! or rings! What we do have is 3 wonderful kids who are making us so proud and a whole lot of memories, good and bad, no matter. We have each other and thats what is important to me.

Now a couple of grand kids too! Who knows, maybe one day we'll get to go on a honeymoon.

I love to knit lately. Ever since I became a gramma I've been knitting up a storm of baby booties baby sweaters and blankets and hats! Right now I am knitting a sweater for ME. We'll see how that goes. I also LOVE to watercolor paint. And I'm thinking about teaching myself how to play the guitar if my husband will build me one.
---sue on 8/13/07

I was just praying about that. Being very poor we feel blessed to pay at least the important bills, but not all yet. Me and my wife NEED A VACATION! But what we need more is, more income. It's hard because I had a heart attack a few years back and I'm 62. Have never been on a honeymoon, let alone a vacation with my bride of 31 years. Will someone pray?
---J_P on 8/13/07

Planing for our anniversary Aug 24 and our vacation Nov 28th. A cruise may be? or a trip by air? It is still in the planing stages.

---Eloy on 7/7/05

Get your foot in a door to start Eloy! Remember what I mentioned to you?
And I've heard you laugh, a good laugh! I know there is some life in you!
My prayers as always are with you my brother.

Grandma Elsie, thanks. "YHWH bless you and keep you. YHWH make his face shine upon you and be merciful to you. YHWH lift up his look upon you, and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26.
---Eloy on 7/6/05

Rebecca and Sue, i need to preach and teach and translate the Bible. When i don't do that i'm unhappy. i can't think of anything worse than being a preacher without a church. i'm probably the most miserable born-again Christian in the whole world. And Sue, i do find a little fulfillment in Blogging here, and only the Lord knows whether it will be the closest that i ever come to fulfillment.

Dear Eloy: Thanks for keeping us up-to-date. It sounds like you are doing a bit better. Stay on the path of praise, dear brother Eloy. Luv' in Jesus, Grandma Elsie
---Elsie on 7/5/05

Eloy, is it kinda fun for you to go on the computer and communicate with us? It must be a little fun or you wouldn't do it. right?
---sue on 7/5/05

Eloy; do you do anything? Hobbies?
---Rebecca_D on 7/4/05

Thanks much you all. Grandma Elsie, it would be wonderful if i was adopted by you, my Grammie passed away years ago. The Lord has kept me up to this point, sometimes only by the skin of my teeth, but nevertheless his grace abounds. Hopefully one day "fun" will set well for my life, but for now i just thank God for seeing me through each day. He is an awesome God, perfect, above reproach, and ultimately in complete control over all his creation.

Dear Eloy: It's quite understandable why you are in a grief period right now. Now how to climb out of the abyss, right? This senior citizen is here to tell you that giving praise to the Lord praise will help you. This sounds simplistic considering the gravity of your situation. Do it anyhow. Read the Psalms'; DON'T GIVE UP DOING THIS. It may take awhile; God WILL heal your broken heart. Let us know how you are doing. Luv in the Lord, Granma Elsie

I can't say I know how you feel, cause I don't. But I do know God doesn't want us to be miserable. Even though life is hard for you right now, you can still enjoy life, the things/people that are around you. You can't let this get you down, I know it would be hard. I don't know what I would do or act, or how I would feel. But God don't want us to be miserable.
---Rebecca_D on 6/29/05

It a nutshell, the mutitude of horrible things that happen to me cancel out the very few good things that happen to me. The experiences are great, i'll just name one that is insurmountable, my children are kidnapped.
---Eloy on 6/29/05

My dear Eloy: What is going on with you? Why can't you have fun? I have read several of your responses that indicate you have an underlying clinical depression. Do you feel comfortable clarifying your situation for this very curious, hopefully not too nosey, retired counselor? Can I help? Granma Elsie

Send a Free Good Morning Ecard

What a lovely question, Laure! My body doesn't work too well anymore so I am limited in the physical aspect. However I really enjoy listening to music, talking to friends who visit or phone, reading and studying the Bible, writing on this CN blog, and enjoying the people God sends who need discipled. My days are full and meaningful because I try to witness every day about the Lord's goodness. Can you think of anything more wonderful? And Jesus joy to you too!

Waiting for Friday, July 1 to come. It is Canada Day in Canada. Happy Birthday Canada.
Then waiting for July 4th - that the USA celebration day.
---barbara67 on 6/29/05

Eloy, you can have fun, your blond, it's in your nature.
---bethie on 6/29/05

Eloy: why can't you have fun? it isn't a sin to have fun, to enjoy life? Are you disabled to where you can't go out and so such things or do you not like to have fun? To me the word "can't" is an ugly word. I tell my kids, can't never did anything 'cause can't never did try. Explain what you said.

Every summer my kids class at church make a television show. It's like an hour long variety show which we videotape and then invite their parents to come and watch. I have agarden but sadly the only I can grow is sunflowers, but I love sunflowers so it's ok. I have a small little pool in my backyard for the hot days, and of course BB-Qs, everyday. Oh and July 1st fireworks.
---bethie on 6/28/05

Going to: the beach for a picnic, a swimming pool for a swim, take a motor boat for a lake crossing. If not, attend to the anthurium, bromeliad, and heleconias. Or take Honey Pie, Cutie Pie, Z-Pie, Quincy and Iroga for a run. Give Jedi a good hair brushing and then a good hug.
---linda6546 on 6/28/05

I go for walks, and take vacations to visit my kids. I also love to swim and go to the gym. Crocheting and knitting are also on my list of favorites. Craft stores are my addiction. I also love to read.

I work in my garden. 5 1/2 rows of corn, tomatoe, watermelon plants, beans carrots, radish, peppers. It is a big garden. I play with my children. Our church is going to an amusenment park within a few weeks. I study my bible. To some it isn't fun, but it is a book that one can't put down.

I am in charge of the float that my church (along with another church) is entering in my city's International Day Parade. The theme of the Parade is "Kids are the Future", so....our float has an open Bible on the front with Proverbs 22:6 (Train up a child in the way he should go...) and a classroom on the other end with the Ten Commandments on the Blackboard. Kids dressed in "Career" clothes will be riding on the float...singing!
