How Does God Answer Prayer

How do I know God answers prayer? Everybody will say, God answers in his own time, or God may not give you what you want cause it's bad for you etc. These sound like excuses to me as to why prayers aren't answered. How could my faith being deepend be bad? This is what I pray for and I can't seem to get it.

Fear hinders answered prayer.
Self pity, ditto...
Murmuring, grumbling, same.
Dishonesty, no answers.
Curses spoken, take so and so out, let so and so disappear, be removed, any kind of witchcraft prayers prayed by a "Christian" - no answers.

Selfish, self centered prayers, few if any answers

Prayers prayed from a heart that covets, wants a house bigger than the "Jones'",
covets the neighbor's husband or wife,
covets the neighbor's anything - you can forget about answers to those kinds of prayers
Exp. Old boyfriend is married and you want your boyfriend back, no answers.

Here goes again: Keep asking, Stay in faith. God may have something better in mind for you. Now, I have notice this for myself. Also try being more thankful. Spend more time snuggling with God. Let Him know that you are going to love Him anyways if you never, ever, get what you want. Amd how is your giving? Also how is your obedience level to God. I hope this helps. After doing all these wonderful things stick with them and keep asking. You should receive the desires of your heart.

When you ask for something with a pure motive which will bring glory to God, He will without doubt give you what you ask.He deepens your faith whilst you are waiting on Him and trusting Him!

For one thing it takes time for your faith to be super. If you are really serious about God you will get there. Actually, that is what God said to me one time. "Don't worry you'll get there." Almost makes me want to cry.

God normally answers our prayers His way & in His perfect timing. We limit Him so much by our thinking His ways & thoughts are far higher than ours. And He wants us to trust Him 100%. Check out Pr. 3:5-6

God does answer prayers. Many times God has answered prayers of mine and I did not know that He had answered them. Only to find that He answered in a differnt way then what I was looking for. If you want to grow in your faith, God will keep giving His word. But faith comes by hearing the word of God...then to show God you heard and believe, you act on it. Pray according to His will, He will answer you.

Faithis believing when there isno concrete evidence. Inorder to have faith in God answering, you also have to believe that even if He doesn't answer, He is still God and loves you. This prayer is a very dangerous one, because God answers it by bringing you thru situations that test your faith to its breaking point. If you can still believe when those things happen to you, your faith has been deepened. Job 13.15 said, "Tho He slay me, yet I'll trust Him." That's the faith you're asking for.

Dear friend,

Sometimes we as Christians find it hard to answer questions such as yours. From what I read, it sounds like you are asking God to deepen your faith, am I right?

God deepens our faith as we learn to rely on Him. I encourage you to read the scriptures and look for passages where a person stepped out in faith. See Matt.14:29 where Peter walked on water. God tests us to deepen our faith. Also look at Genesis 22:2 where God tested Abraham. I pray God bless you!

Alan, I'm so sorry you went thru that after losing your wife. I believe the Word teaches us to always pray & believe for healing (obviously you do too) but we don't know the beginning from the end. Only God knows & understands it all. We, as Christians, are never to judge another by saying you didn't pray properly or you didn't have enough faith. That is just cruel and ... in my opinion ... quite dangerous. When we judge others, God judges us by the same standard. (Matthew 7:1,2)

God does not always give us what we want.
My wife was terminally ill with cancer ... prayers were said for her recovery. Sad to say, when she died, some in the church reacted that we had not prayed properly, were not proper Christians, otherwise the prayer would have been answered.
I beleive we were given the miracle of her happy and gracious last few months

Beyond the pat answers that you've been given, I think that I have some insights for you, if you'd like to discuss them.

To know that God answers prayers is to have faith that the Lord answers. Dont doubt which is a lack of faith, be confident in the Lord and believe; no back sliding. If we ask anything according to His will, he hears us. Read in your bible: Luke 11: 1-13, take note on vs.9 & 10, Mark 11:24, and 1 John 5: 14, 15. I pray that the Lord will bless you with the confidence you need to know He is there for you always.

God answers prayer, the psalmist says"oh thou that answers prayer unto you doth all flesh come",and the book of Mark says'when you pray believe and ye shall have them',so it's your faith delivers your desire into your all you have to do is just believe that GOd answers and you will see it come through.

"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." I John 5:14,15. Your faith will be deepened when you go through trials, each one you pass your faith should be deepened.

If one has sin in their life, I mean a known sin, that you know is wrong. God won't answer prayers. And Satan can sometimes block our prayer being answered. But God hears our prayers, It isn't an excuse, it just may not be in God's time. Maybe God is trying your paitence.

I don't know whether everybody does this. But on my experience, I wrote down every pray I tell God. and when I come back to my long long time pray, there is none of the pray i made not been answered. The answered sometimes not the one i want, but it always been answered.

God expects us to be confident in our relationship with Him and know that He answers prayer. The truth is you have a right to everything Jesus' sacrifice bought and paid for. You have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus! You are what the Word says you are! You have a right to what the Word says you can have! The secret? You have to know what the Word says and base every prayer on the Word (John 15:7).

You may think it sounds like an excuse , but think of it this way - perhaps you will pray for a child and not get one because God in his infinite knowledge knows that your body actually could not withstand childbirth. or perhaps you will ask for riches but again God , knowing much more then we ever could know, knows that riches would corrupt your character. God is not a genie who has to give us everything we ask for but rather a father that knows what is best for us
