How To Support Our Troops
How can we support our troops in Iraq? This is NOT a discussion of why or why not, we should be in Iraq! They need to know that we're on their side. America is ONE Country!

Yes, we need to write our troops. Many churches keep the names of their active duty soldiers on file with their addresses. My son is in Iraq now and it is very, very hard for them. They have more conveniences than in former wars but there is still separation from their families and those who love them. Most importantly, pray for them. Many are having problems at home and are unable to deal with the problems because they are serving their country. Debba9474

Please remember that CN is for all Christians not just Americans. Even if you disagree with the policies that sent them or keep them there, you should still be "on their side" but not necessarily cheer when they kill innocents.
The UK has troops in Iraq, and on peacekeeping and mercy missions worldwide, as does USA.
and do not let Iraq take away from the huge problems that US forces still have in Afganistan
Pray for them all ...

If you look around on the net, you'll find sites where you can send emails to soldiers overseas. You can also get general mailing adresses, and send a letter to a soldier. You don't get a name of a soldier, at least I didn't, they just ask you to write a letter showing your support and they will see that someone gets it.

Our precious sons and daughters need all the support we can give. It was never easy to be deployed abroad. Personally I use the President's Prayer Team from the web to adopt two troops. Anyone can do it and their website is fantastic. I'm not a total supporter of this President's political views, but I think we owe our service men and women our undying gratitude and prayers wherever they are stationed. Let's pray for the families too - oh how they suffer!

I attend and photograph a lot of the Support Our Troops rallies in Lakes Region New Hampshire. I make Computer CDs with patriotic music MP3 track that I down load from the military band sites. I also sing the National Anthem and other patriotic songs for some of these events. Families of deployed military personal also need support Freedom Fund New Hampshire was created to give monetary and services assistance to families of our military personal. Create a similar project in your local area.

When I saw that about the piano, I think I laughed more than if it had turned up on the 'humor blog!' I started to mention it, but I was laughing too hard!

John, the best way to support the troupes is to become one of them. If you are too old to join the armed forces there are lots of contracting jobs available.

There is a website that offers the chance to send soldiers letters and books. Type in books and soldiers. See what happens.
