Do you think that it is possible to lose your salvation? Did you know that one of the main scriptures some people use to justify a belief that you can lose your salvation, proves just the opposite when you study it closely?

Annanias and Sapphira are not in heaven right now if thats what you mean. People who are not REPENTANT of their sinning will die in their sins.

The Word of God and the Doctrine of Christ are ONE AND THE SAME! From the very Front to the final End of the Bible, IT SAYS that those who do not OBEY WILL BURN IN HELL, PERIOD! As the Word speaks of the False Teachers (those of PROTESTANTISM), Google 'Religiosopher' and read some very interesting TRUTHS about God. ALL who follow the Doctrines of Protestant in lieu of STRICT HOLINESS are DOOMED.

Brother Eloy, coming from one who was saved three times, how can you be born again three times? Did you get cheap grace the first two times? Is your grace cheap now? How does one believe your testimony, when your faith is cheap to begin with? Maybe you feel that one sin, will make you lose salvation, if there is such a sin, which one is it? "No, God has not rejected and disowned His people (whose destiney) He had Marked Out and Appointed and Foreknown from the Beginning." Romans 11:2.

B. If God foreknew you to be one of His, how did His Omniscience miss that? You sinned and fail back to sin, and lost what He knew you had, but came back, again sinned, and came back again. God must be learning as He goes, maybe He doesn't know who His children are and keeps losing them over and over to the devil. He is losing the battle He already won. How is that possible? How do you reconcile Scripture?
---frank on 4/20/07

Committment to Christ is just that, a committment, and if you are not committed then you lose salvation that you are no longer committed too. There's no such thing as cheap grace, or do nothing and be saved, that's from Satan's pit. On the contrary the Bible says do all to be saved. Please Read Ephesians 6:13-17; Luke 14:28-35; Hebrews 10:38,39.

We can not remember every sin we do all of the time and if we tried we would probably go bonkers, especially if we remembered all of them. And probably would get depress. So this is why we do this: My Father forgive me of all of my sins and those that I know nothing about. In Jesus name: Amen.+++

1 John 2:18-19
18Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
19They(Anti-Christs) went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
---Matthew on 4/18/07

Frank, I do not dispute what is in the scriptures. They are my guide. But I wonder how many here have read the scriptures fully. It seem so easy for many to assume that others are not saved when they are only judging by their own man-made standards. So many think that they are saved when they insist on living as the heathens did.
---lorra8574 on 4/18/07

C. Lorra: you said, "the bigger question is, how does one know if he is saved?" No one knows if the other is save or not. We can judge and be wrong. But a true believer can know for himself if he is saved or not. One way to confirm if you are, is to ask youself if you have a true love for Christ, because no lost person has a love for God at all. If that love is displayed in his actions, he is saved. another way is for the Holy Spirit to conformed it to your spirit, that you are a child of God.
---frank on 4/18/07

Sister Lorra, John in 1 John 2:19, "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us" the very reason they left was to make manifest that from the beginning they were not of Christ. The same holds true for everyone that pretends. We know it is possible for people to be enamored by certain elements of Christianity without ever embracing Christ Himself.
---frank on 4/18/07

B. Lorra: the doctrine of perserverance does not rest on our ability to persevere, even if we are regenerated. Rather, it rests on the promise of God to preserve us. Paul writes to the Philippians, "Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" 1:6. God finishes what He begins. He insures that His purposes in election are not frustrated. This is by faith.

The bigger question is how does one know that they are saved.

Whenever a scripture passage is raised that shows that we can lose our salvation, people think that it must be referring to someone who was not really saved.

When we seen so-called Christians committing serious sins, some seem to think that this is because they never really believed or accepted Jesus.

There is only one ACCUSER of the brethren.
Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Revelation 12:10
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of OUR GOD, and the power of his CHRIST: for the ACCUSER of our brethren is cast down, which ACCUSED them before our God day and night.

Sister Morgan, I am glad again that you found the time to mention Christ saving you, and yet, found enough room in your answer to give yourself a little credit there with your works. It doesn't surprise me.

Why are these blogs so negative for. About losing salvation. Jesus Christ is in the business of saving people not losing them.

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT willing that any should PERISH, but that all should come to REPENTANCE.

"...who saved you?..."

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they FOLLOW Me".

Christ/the Word save[s] me, salvation BEGINS with receiving Truth then ABIDING in It,if one willfully walks outside of the [safety] of God's saving Truth, God don't promise those eternal life. You leave out the crucial ABIDING part, which opposes God's Word(John 8:31-32)(John 15:6)(James 1:22)(Gal.5:1,16)(Heb. 3:12-13)(Heb. 4:1)(Heb.10:39)(Rev.14:12).

---calhoon on 4/16/07

Sister Morgan, who saved you? and who saved Matthew? Those are questions you should be asking yourself. If it was not God, then you have a lot to boast about. If it was God that saved you, why do you insist in not saying it? What stops you from giving Him the glory? If you are so much in love with Christ, why in all God's kingdom don't you acknowledge it was Him who saved you? It is but pride that you insist in not giving Him the honor or the glory.
---frank on 4/15/07

B. Morgan: why are you ashame of Christ? If you are saved by Christ, why do you hardly mention Him working through you, or giving you the faith to be saved, No, your words and Matthews consist of works, your works of obedience to gain that salvation. Anyone that is saved Morgan is because the Spirit of God gave them life, and the Spirit convicted them and they repented. Your teachings of works is from the Catholic Church, with their works of penance for justification.
---frank on 4/15/07

No a person cannot lose their salvation. But they can if they choose to walk away from God and fall back into sin. They are still saved, but a backslider. A born again person if backslides doesn't get born again...again. You can only get saved once, but can fall from grace and fall into sin.

2 Peter 2:20-21

20For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

Your obsession with Matthew's walk with Jesus & Trying to prove in vain, that godly obedience is useless in a born-again child of God's life ISN'T edifying, isn't's fanatisism, twisted religion, NOT the move of God. Matthew lives victoriously IN Christ, his godly testimony PROVES it,he gives God ALL the glory, not vain TALK, but walks the WALK, like all true children of God do. (James 1:27).

Who carries you and in your mind you want to do so much good? Who guides you through your life, and gives you His love? Who sustains you so that you alway remember Him? Who makes you who you are? Who promises you eternal life, if you only believe in Him? If He is, then you are going in circles every day. If He is not any of those things then you are not saved at all.

B. James 2:14-, "If someone" The important phrase governs the interpretation of the entire passage. James does not say that this person actually has faith, but that he claims to have it. faith. This is best understood in a broad sense, speaking of any degree of acceptance of the truths of the gospel. "Does not have." Again, the verb's form decscribes someone who continually lacks any external evidence of the faith he routinely claims.
---frank on 4/14/07

C. Faith always produce good fruits. "Can faith save him" Better translated, "Can that kind of faith save?" James is not disputing the importance of faith, rather, he is opposing the notion that saving faith can be a mere intellectual exercise voit of a commintment to active obedience, Matthew 7:16-18. James on verses 15,16 illustrates his point by comparing faith without works to words of compassion without acts of compassion, Matthew 25:31-46.

Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

James isn't talking about commandments of the old law. He is talking about the new laws of love. In Galations and Ephesians Paul was talking about the old mosaic laws. They wanted others to get cirumcised(not one of Jesus' commandments of love.) Thus Paul told them
Galatians 5:6
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
---Matthew on 4/13/07

The new laws of love has fulfilled the old law.
Romans 13:10
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Thus if you refuse to follow Jesus' new commandments of love you aren't refusing the old law, but instead Jesus' commandmetns of love. Those who follow Jesus' commandments are not following the old law.

I don't believe I am justified by what I do(despite the fact I quoted James 2). I believe because I have faith I do things and I believe when God sees us do something he look st the faith behind the work before the work itself, because without faith we wouldn't obey in the first place. Faith in Jesus is faith in His Gospel and His commandments. Without faith we can't obey Jesus. Those who say they have faith in Jesus and don't obey Him are not truly in Him. They are deceived.(James 1:22)(1 John 2:4)

Brother Calhoon, Let me say that my relationship with Christ means a lot to me. I make no jokes about Scripture. I also work hard to learn for it is important to me that what I teach is what God wants me to teach, and the only way I can do that is by learning about God, His attributes and nature. To know what His decrees are. I do sin, and ask for forgiveness everyday. For I might not know which sin I have commited. I pray when I get up, when I eat, when I feel joy in my heart.
---frank on 4/12/07

B. Calhoon: Each day I pray for the people on line. Since I have been on line I have heard many things from others, from people that are so call Christians. I have heard what they have to say about Christ. I've listened to their so call Christian conduct and their way of salvation. They teach what the Old Testament taught. Works for salvation, not Justification by faith along. It is what happened to the New Church all through the apistles. The warnings were given and yet you have it here to this day.
---frank on 4/12/07

C. Calhoon: I know that no matter what I do or what I say, it won't matter any to the heart that has already hardened to learn about God. God has elect His church, and His church will repent and come to Christ, and it will be sustained by Christ to the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. Each one does have an obligation, if he is truely saved, he will learn more about God and will make it. If he is not, you will see him fall away in time. It happens to many.
---frank on 4/12/07

D. Calhoon: the reason they will fall, is because they have been given a false gospel, the one taught here by many. Christ blood paid for our salvation. His blood and His blood only is good enough. Nothing we work for or do will ever be good enough are equal to Christ's blood. All of the children of Christ will have eternal life. That is a promise to all who believe.

Repentance for salvation happens once in your life. When you see and hear Christ, you respond to Him because you can hear Him and see Him. From the point of regeneration, all true believers see and hear the voice of Christ. This is done through the power of the Holy Spirit. We confess our sins when we do wrong, because the Spirit convicts us. We are not converted again and again. It only happens once and brings eternal life. The teaching of Scripture teach us discipline.

While the passages in Revelations are for the church at Sardis, it is considered a dead church. God knows their works and what they do. They are not true believers He is talking to, since He remembers not the sins of the believers. He is talking to the one's unsaved. Very bad example of making a passage say something it is not saying. At Sardis there was very few true Christians that were living a godly life. The others had not repented, as in our churches today.

B. Revelations 3:19 is speaking of unbelievers, verses 20, 21 since the context demands that Christ was seeking to enter this church that bore His name but lacked a single true believer. This poignant letter was His knocking. If one member recognize his spiritual depravity and responded in saving faith, Christ would enter the church. C. Day after day a few give passages distorted, to the true meaning. A person that is saved hears God, see's God, loves God. His sins are forgotten by God. That is what happens at the time of salvation. A person cannot repent and be saved, over and over. He is saved once when He begans to see and hear God. When I humble myself, beg Him to forgive me, then He comes back. And guess what, PEACE and JOY comes back. God's presence has come back. "Time for celebration".

You are a good person, Calhoon, but you might as well face it.
This is the Mod's statement below.
"Moderator - As Christians we are required to repent of our sins, otherwise it is questionable if the person is truly a Christian. The backsliden person needs to repent of their sin not get saved again. Repent means to turn away from the sin. Therefore, if you are truly saved you will repent of your sin."

might as well face it -

I don't agree with you there, Calhoonie.
I believe David did kill the giant with his stone as it says in the KJV.
I don't believe we are once saved always saved, and we can't lose our salvation, and we don't need to repent - bologna.
