Can the devil see what I will be for God years ahead of time? Is that why he has come against me so hard through the years?

Crucify Him Again~ The Bible tells us that this scenario you speak of is going to is merely prophecy being fulfilled. Christianity is often seen as corrupt and perverse because so many have twisted and perverted God's word to their own liking. It seems like the prophecy of 'the devil sitting in the temple of God, like he is God' is occurring right now. Like I always say, I can't honestly imagine Jesus looking at the corporate churches of our day, and being pleased at all with what He sees. I can however imagine Jesus preferring the company of those at an 'AA' meeting...much less hypocrisy, much more humility, and much more striving to turn from our sinful ways & instead turning our lives over to Christ.
---Anne on 11/20/08

Haha...the Christians can't even get along with each other, less any other religion.

Christianity is the most corrupted, perverse religion in existence today.

I'm not your judge. I am looking at the advice you're giving and questioning if it's only for laughs and giggles.
---Butterfly on 5/23/07

And yes, Butterfly Charles, I am certainly a Christian. Are you my judge?
---Cynthia_1 on 5/23/07

Charles Butterfly, No some of the things I post are very serious, but sometimes there not. If I was serious all the time, I would crack, I pull no punches, Dragonflies, rainbows around the sun UFOS and area 51, are fun QUESTIONS stuff I want to hear your viewpoints on, then other things are serious issues, I don' have all the answers for, Yes I'm educated, but I never claimed brilliance, and am certainly not right all the time.
---Cynthia_1 on 5/23/07

Cynthia 1, if you throw stuff on these blogs for fun, laugh your head when you do, why should we take your posts seriously?
How much of your advice is trumped up for it's laugh value, only?
---Butterfly on 5/23/07

Cynthia, I remember everything you've said.
The story about the ocean, was that all a gag for laughs and giggles?
Your qualifications and education, simply for laughs and spoofing, not really real?
Are you really a Christian?
---Butterfly on 5/23/07

This is not a topic that I enjoy dwelling on but the Bible tells us that we are not to be ignorant of the methods he uses, Before Satan was ever a devil, He had GREAT FAVOR with God, he lived with God, He was the most beautiful angel, the Bible speaks of the power given to just one angel, Lucifer was created ruler over the angels, and yes, I beleive what you say Catherine, He can not strike without Gods permission, but He often does. For instance, Columbine, Va. Tech, shootings, Did God allow it?
---Cynthia_1 on 5/23/07

Charles>> Good, Good point. If the Devil had his way with the true Christians he would take us out in a flash. Praise God the Devil cannot take us out without God's permission.
---catherine on 5/22/07

Charles, you put way too much attention on me, I do not even take my self so seriously. I am not the Pastor of a church, I am not the singer on the stage, I have many, many times been asked too, because my circle of friends are the leaders in the pack, the artists, and the singers, are usualy the ones I go with, but I throw stuff on these blogs for fun, I laugh my head off when I do it, but if I offend you then I am humbly sorry.
---Cynthia_1 on 5/22/07

Cynthia, you know the devil is not omnipresent, omnipotent. He is limited, very limited, in what God will allow the devil's government to do. If it were not so, he would have wiped all Christians off the earth by now. The devil knows the Word, but he is limited. You give him too much rope and far too much attention.
---Charles on 5/20/07

Pastors, pastor's wives are under the microscope before a congregation. I'm sure you've heard, some are sent, some picked up a microphone and went.
If the above has small victory in their personal lives, what are they doing leading others. Regardless of how many personal prophecies have been spoken over the couple, if they cannot deal with everyday dilemmas, what are they sharing with others.
---Charles on 5/20/07

A pastor's life is an open book, it comes with the territory. Not everyone is called to be one. If stability isn't there, then Houston, we have a problem. I have watched prophets come to town, speak some powerful words over a pastor and wife, years later, zip. Some of these words are from the soul/mind realm. The only reliable Word is the Word.
---Charles on 5/20/07

Cynthia, you've shared everything. Your interest in UFOs/aliens stored at area 51, dragonfly anxiety, sundogs, kids in the middle of the ocean, husband has no common sense, and your having to keep a low profile in your own home. When you tell us that you're as qualified as any pastor, that challenges me.
---Charles on 5/20/07

Cynthia, when you tell us that "The Devil has entrance to Heaven even now, Do you realize that, His objective is to put evil thoughts in your head, in your dreams, trip you up so that Prophecys over your life will not be fulfilled.", you're giving the devil too much entrance into your life.
---Charles on 5/20/07

And yes, I sincerely beleive that the devil has seen years ahead, and has listened intently to what Prophets have prophesied over us. Psychics, crystal ball seers, they have "FAMILIAR SPIRITS" That most often have have been very accurate with predictions but it is often mixed with lies, the Bible forbids against having contact with "these and also against spirit traffic''. But this is his lifes work, to come steal, kill, lie, rob, destroy..

God knows all our thoughts, And I know the devil comes to plant thoughts, with seducing and lying spirits, that is the reason, human beings need to be excorcised of many, even The Man of Gadara, had LEGIONS inside of him telling him what to do, because they made habitation in his body, Strongholds, are evil thoughts, however God reads every one of our thoughts. As we read in Hebrews 4:12-13. And Christians can be ''OPRESSED'' not ''POSESSED'' of the Devil.
---Cynthia_1 on 5/19/07

Clarification of what I wrote previously is this: And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ; for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. Rev.12:10
---Cynthia_1 on 5/19/07

Our minds are the battleground, but I don't believe Satan knows more about your future than you do.
I shared an experience months ago, about a psychic that was one of the best in the 'business'. So accurate, that she was studied. Prior to her carwreck, she was of average intelligence. She was knocked out and laid on the ground for hours. She's not on television, no books, I don't know if she is still alive.
---Michelle on 5/19/07

She said her scope was about 6 years down the road. Interesting, six.
The devil can influence your mind, and also suggest things to you, so that you will set yourself up, for them to come true. That's how it works. The more impressionable and open you are, the better it works.

We all know that you can widen the door for the enemy to come in by playing with the occult through objects, movies, television, books, etc. You cannot have it both ways, have your bible in one hand, preach Jesus - read astrology profiles/watch Buffy/Charmed/Harry/; bring magicians into your church for 'Christian' magic tricks.
---Michelle on 5/19/07

If you do that, the enemy can gain more of a toehold/door into your life. You will hear more ungodly voices/suggestions/temptations because you have opened that door to witchcraft. If you don't agree, don't complain when the ungodly supernatural experiences keep happening to you. On some level, you're enjoying it. You cannot have it both ways. Light and darkness do not mix.
---Michelle on 5/19/07

For every truth, the psychic told, there was a lie right behind it. The one truth was the hook, a lure for tell me more, more, more. People become hooked on false words, prophecies that never come to pass, supernatural experiences. It's something tangible that you can wrap your mind around. It doesn't require any faith. Like Thomas, show me something real. The devil is real, but don't let his lies that he can see your future, read your mind, trip you up.
---Michelle on 5/19/07

Don't let narcissism overtake you to the point you feel you're more special than others; that you have all the answers, and you're one of the very few that God has a calling for. That is unbalanced, the devil can use that type of thinking, too. He is a trickster, deceitful, and a liar.
He cannot read your mind. He can influence your mind with familiar spirits and other tactics.
Only God knows what is truly in the heart and mind of man. Only God can hear your heart pray.

The devil knows your past, that's it.
He is 'familiar' with how you have responded in the past to situations. If you're quick to anger, he'll punch all your buttons. If you fall apart at the seams, he'll help you get there. If you use the Word, "it is written", when hardships come, he's confused and a defeated foe.
If you visit with the devil, he will talk back, but why would you give him any place?
---Michelle on 5/19/07

catherine, some are very glib about the enemy. But some give him way too much credit for everything in their lives. Their focus is on what the enemy is doing in their lives, you hear little victory in their testimony of who Jesus Christ is in their lives.

Lets not play games here. The Devil is smart. One thing for sure; he does not want you to fulfill the call of God on your life. He will do whatever he can within his [limited] powers to stop you. The good news is, he cannot stop you, if you keep your eyes on the prize, God's promises. But rest for sure, it can be a tough fight. Oh well!

If you get a pain in your side and automaticly you think or say, Oh my, I wonder if there something wrong? (For me it would be oh, Lord not another kidney stone) But if you say negative things Satan will have a ball with that. He will run with that and play games with your mind. Take Job for instance. Satan knew that God put a hedge on him, and knew that Job obeyed God, he feared him. This is why Satan is fighting so hard against Christians. He only has a little bit of time to kill, steal and destroy.
---Rebecca_D on 5/18/07

Three realms known as heaven in the Bible.
Eternal abode of the blessed.
Heavenly dwelling of the Trinity, angels, and the redeemed.
Heaven used to describe the 'Sky', heavenly places, spiritual territory.

It is in these heavenly places, spiritual territory that Satan 'seeks' to control the world. It is from here that Satan releases war against the church.

He is no longer entering the highest heaven, at the throne of God, Rev 12:11.
---Charly on 5/17/07

After Jesus Won the War, it does not say that the devil has face to face communion with God.
Rev 12:10,11
---Charly on 5/17/07

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world" (1 Peter 5:8-9).
---Charly on 5/17/07

The devil declared war, reasoning he could do battle on his territory, the earth. Satan knew he couldn't get to the child in Mary's womb. So he determined to destroy Christ as soon as he was born. He gathered all his demonic forces around Bethlehem, sending spirits of deception to blind the scribes, priests and Pharisees. Then his own spirit entered King Herod, possessing him. If Satan couldn't kill Christ himself, he would have a man standing by, ready to do it for him.

Resurrection day was Satan's defeat. When Jesus ascended to heaven, He was out of the devil's reach forever. "Her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne" (Revelation 12:15). All of hell was shaken because Satan had lost again. Even using all of his power, he still could not defeat the son of God.

---Charly on 5/17/07

The devil declared his final war on Christ. This means he is at war with every true believer on earth.
"When the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child" (verse 13). "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ" .
---Charly on 5/17/07

The devil knows a short time remains before Christ returns. "...he knoweth that he hath but a short time" (verse 12). Therefore, Satan's war against the church is the most intense of all. He wants to gain back the ground he lost to Christ - so he'll stop at nothing to destroy our faith. He uses all of his weapons against us - all subtleties, deceits and devices.
---Charly on 5/17/07

Jesus is our example. When he resisted temptation with God's word, the devil fled. The truth exposed Satan, putting him to shame. Hebrews says that all who have trusted in God's word "through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions" (Hebrews 11:33). We muzzle the powers of hell by standing on God's word.

Jesus won that war.

Rev 12:12 KJV)
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Because of Satans expulsion from heaven that those in Heaven can now rejoice because evil has been expelled forever. Woe, grief or distress, will come upon the inhabitants of the earth because now the spiritual war is taking place on earth.
---Charly on 5/17/07

Satan is aware his time is limited, from the time of his expulsion until the final judgment when he will be cast into the lake of fire. We are not told when this expulsion took place. This means that since only the Father knows the day and hour of the Lords return, Satan will attempt to bring as much havoc upon the church as he possibly can in the short time that he has.
---Charly on 5/17/07

(Mark 13:20 KJV) And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: Satan has caused many Christians to be killed through false religions and evil governments and if he was allowed to go for thousands of years, he would try to rid the earth of every Christian. This is why the Lord has shortened those days.

---Rebecca_D on 7/30/05

Rebecca, I thought you'd know this one by now, its your sin nature, the flesh the thing that makes you crave a ciggarette each time. That's not satan, he doesnt need a smoke but your flesh does.
---lisa on 7/27/05

Rebecca -

"BE self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion LOOKING for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8)

Satan watches us. He knows our weaknesses and he has influence over us IF we let him. Satan has the power to distort the thinking of Christians (see Acts 5:3) but he doesn't know if the thoughts he gives us have taken route or have been brushed aside UNTIL they come out of our mouths or through our actions.
---DoryLory on 7/27/05

He doesn't have to ability to read our thoughts. All he can do is watch to see if his influence has had an effect on us.

What makes us sin? We have a sin nature. The Bible says that our sin nature is in continual conflict with the Spirit of God (Galatians 5:17). We all have areas in our lives that are more difficult to submit to the Spirit of God ... where we just want to do what we want to do.

"THOSE who live according to the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires." (Romans 8:5)
---DoryLory on 7/27/05

We must continually renew our minds to overcome the sinful nature (Romans 12:2). It's a growing process that sometimes takes a lot of diligence. We have to remember that the Word of God is powerful. It is living and active and it will change us (overcome our sinful flesh) when we give ourselves to it (Hebrews 4:12).
---DoryLory on 7/27/05

You say you are curious. In the past you have been given extensive scriptural proof to your question but you seem to choose to ignore it.

The SPECIFIC answer as to the source of temptation is found in James 1:13-15
---Bruce5656 on 7/27/05

If satan can't read our thoughts then what makes us sin? What makes us dwell on the past? What makes us judge someone, to talk about them? Ourselves???? God surely don't do that. So what does if not God and not ourselves? I am so very curious.

satan cannot read your thoughts. He can hear what you say. He cannot see the future either. Eg,when he knew Jesus would be born, he had limited ability to know when and where and who, that's why he inspired Herod to kill all the baby hebrew boys born in the past 2 years. That's how clueless he was then and still is. He hears prophecies and words you get etc but that's about the extent of it. To say satan can read your thoughts gives him too much credit. Just put him under your feet where he belongs.
---lisa on 7/25/05

Satan cannot read our thoughts. Don't dwell on him, focus on God, pray and have faith. When the devil knocks on your door, just say,"Jesus, would you get that for me?"
---Nan on 7/25/05

Satan can read our thoughts, that is how he feeds off of us, through our thoughts and fears. I agree that we give satan more credit for our problems that half the time we bring on ourselves. I have heard the expression, "Devil made me do it". that is silly, satan don't make anyone do anything, we allow things to happen.
---Rebecca_D on 7/25/05

No, he cannot even read minds, Just a created being. No attributes as God. Has a lot of power but not more then God. If you are having troubles it could be caused by you. Sometimes we blame satan and give him more then he is due. Sometimes its God, allowing you to get deep in trouble to teach you something. Sometimes though, it will be the temptations of the enemy. But most times because of us.

Cathy, If you are a child of God then you have ammo. We are not to worry about the devil. There is no proof that he can forsee the future. If we are abiding in Jesus and are rooted and grounded in the Word of God, we are equipped to confront the enemy. We have to so we can do the work that God has for us. My wife and I have to come against him every day. Use the Word and pray the word that God gave you!
---John on 7/23/05

He wanted to make himself like God (Isaiah 14:14) and he wants us to think he's something he isn't (2 Corinthians 11:14) but the reality is Satan is a created being (Ezekial 28:13). He doesn't have the attributes of God. The only thing he knows about the future is what the Bible says ... that there will be an end to his life (Genesis 3:14), that his time is short (Revelation 12:12) and that we (Christians) win (Revelation 12:11).
---DoryLory on 7/23/05

No, Satan can't "see" the future as God does. Only God has the attributes of omnipresence, omnipotence and omniscience. Satan would love for you and all of us to believe he is God's exact counterpart, but, he isn't. He is a created being as we are, he has no power but what God allows him to have.
---tommy3007 on 7/23/05

Starting in the book of Genesis chapter 3, You begin to see Satan working against God. By twisting, subtracting and adding to the word of God, Satan deceived Eve in the Garden. Satan also in the book of Job, attacks Job physically. Satan wants to stop the spread of God's word. Either by confusing the words we read, or by stopping or hindering the messenger. Stay in the book daily, to combat Satan.

If in case, that's what you mean, then I could say that he wanted you to be his for eternity! Hold on, my sister! Ask God to help you resist temptation! God bless you!
---bebet3754 on 7/22/05

I don't think so!The devil can only tempt, lure, entice you! But he is never given the privilege to know what would you be in the future. But I understand he can read well your actions!

"The devil is an alien personal force in the universe. Satan seeks 2 annihilate what God has created, 2 bring chaos where there is order, darkness where there is light; Satan defies God with superb hatred & pride; which manifests itself in human sin, especially in the opposition which Jesus met & overcame in the cross. The intrusion of this power into human life does not absolve man from responsibility. Man's consent 2 its work rather increases man's guilt.
