Why Am I Not Prospering

Why did God allow me to be under while he said in the Bible that we shall be on top not below and we shall be the head not the tale.

Moderator - Read the NT and read about the NT saints. Prospering is spiritually. We may or may not prosper in other ways.

We are told to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto us. A lot of times we think we are really doing this but we are not... or else we would be seeing the results.
Prosperity can be spiritual growth, mental stability. healthy body.... It is many things not just material goods. Sometimes we have it but don't recognize it cause we are looking at the wrong things.

Jesus and the bible never says that we will be #1 infact it says the first will be last and the last will be first. which means we have to be last before we can be first. Jesus also says that blessed are the poor, the weeping, the persecuted, why because they are financially rich? I haven't seen too many persecuted rich people (unless you look at taxes) We aren't going to be #1 in the world's eyes but we will be #1 in what really counts.

Many reasons. Why blame God? Are you in disobedience to God? Outright sinning? Doubt? Faithless? Are you giving according to how God has prospered you? Does not matter how little you give, if you give what you have cheerfully, God blesses you for that. There are many hindrances to our blessings. Are you praying correctly? Go to God in secret prayer and ask Him. He will tell you. Listen for the answer.

What are your reasons and motives? If it isn't in God's will, you won't prosper.

Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: FREELY ye have received, FREELY give.
Under Grace all the blessings are yea and amen in Christ under the Law of giving you are always subject to the curse there is no curse under Grace, Seek ye first the kingdom which is Jesus through the Spirit of God and walk in that Spirit, for if the Spirit is in your House you will prosper.

It's not by your might or your power but by my Spirit say's the Lord.
2 Samuel 6:11 And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.
prosperity does not come by paying God for it, Jesus paid with his blood so you could freely recieve all of Gods blessings.

this prosperity gospel is a bunch of balony. God doesnt promise riches,, or health, or a "wonderful plan for your life", but He does promise trials, temptation, and persecution---how bad do you want to go to heaven?

Spend wisely, save faithfully sow liberally...... that's what our pastor and his pastor teach us.
God promises to meet our daily needs. We are the ones who think He needs to supply our wants.

Read Hebrews Chapter 11. ALL of it, not just the first 35 verses.

Most Christians find themselves closer to God when the going gets tough. When we have everything that we think we need that is when we can easily forget the one who gave it.
---M.P. on 10/6/05

Dear Moderator. perhaps you should elaborate a little bit more on this one space permitting. Those NT saints did not care about money but we do. These days life is difficult without money even to preach the Gospel effectively we require a lot of money. I assume Deut. 28 is still valid and I claim these blessings on my life.

Devine, do not dispair. Some of the oldest hymns ponder the same question. I often sing "Farther Along" myself. We will be tried while others prosper. Our reward is not here. Help others enjoy their's. It may be the best they get. Glory to God for His plan and patience with us. We must be tried in the Fire to become pure. Not as lovers of pain or misery but as being cleansed by God of our carnal nature.

The lowly will find grace, but the rich will think in their heart, "i don't need God, why should i pray when i can buy whatever i need?" How hard it is for the rich to enter into the kingdom of heaven. But we should lay up treasures in heaven, and not upon the earth. "For whom the Lord loves he trains, and subdues every son whom he receives." Hebrews 12:6.

The Lord knows when the best time to give us something is. If he just gave it before we where ready we may squander it away or not appreciate it as much or we may just take it for granted sometimes lessons have to be learned first for us to grow. Plus he wants us to rely on him and trust him for all. maybe he is trying to teach you patience or maybe there is another lesson. Maybe your reasoning for wanting something isn't the right reason. James 1:2-4

What is your diffenition of "prosper"? You can never suffer when you are doing what the Lord wants - at least not to the person doing the suffering. (A lot has to do with attitude.) Maybe you need to do as the song states, and "count your every blessing and see what God has done." Suggest you write down what God has done for you. God will not give you more than you can bear. (Read James chapter 1.)
