I have used oil to pray over everything .The more people who pray over the oil using the oil as a point of contact the more powerful the annointing. It is biblical that there is more power in the prayer of a group . I have seen breakthroughs with oil especially if it has been blessed by a few.People carry different annointings with mantels, gifts. This can be transfered and shared. It is a point of contact for use in spiritual warfare.Oil is a symbol of the holy spirit. Anoint means to rub into. Oil or healing salve was used in biblical times and Jesus had his feet washed by a woman with an expensive bottle of oil. We need all types of healing not just physical but every area of life. God honors the oil as a point of contact.

Coming from an occult background and then turning my life over to Jesus (Yeshua) I do have some experienced words of wisdom on this subject. Annoint and pray because it does effect the spiritual world. I have fought this battle from both sides and you had better believe there is power in annointing with oil and prayer combined.

We are about to move into a new home and will be annointing it today. This is not doctrine, it's a symbol that we are setting apart our home for God, and we will be calling upon the name of Jesus and the Holy Spirit for protection of all within, and that our home will be a holy place. What's not biblical about that?

First of all you do not understand what the anointing with oil means. So let me explain. >>>>It is a symbol of God's miraculous work in healing It is not the oil, but the Lord who shall raise him up. Christ Himself applied saliva to men at times to symbolize, by physical contact, the healing that God would effect.>>>MK.7-33, 8-23] Also....There is Old Testament support for the idea that the Anointing could signify the setting apart of the man to God for His will and operation. Now will you understand?

It is very scriptural as in James 5:14, "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:"

When I anoint someone, I anoint them and then I pray from the heart. When I anointed my house, I prayed while I was using the oil. I pray on the situation. If you are having trouble with demons, or evil spirit entering someone's home, or your own, rebuke them while anointing your house. Anoint every door, window, anything that can be opened.

lovable_linda, in the OT there is only one place, in the Book of Exodus, that the people applied Blood to the doors. It was during the plagues and the Death Angel was passing over.
This blood was from an innocent lamb and actually formed a cross on the doors. It symbolized faith in God and the sacrifice of Christ to come. The first born of everthing born died that night.
This was Blood not oil.

When members of our church get a new house,we go and have a "house warming",food, fellowship, and we anoint the doorposts and doorways, praying God's blessing & Jesus'Blood over the home and all that enter in..that they will be ministered to,that the house will be a home.."As for me and my house we will serve the Lord".We take authority over any demonic spirits that would enter in,(in Jesus'Name). In Old Test.the doorpost had blood put on it's anointing Oil.Blessings,

Exodus30:25-29 These show oil is used for anointing the tabenacle, ark of the testimony ,table and his vessels, candlesticks and his vessels, altar of incense, altar of burnt offering and his vessels, laver and his foot. It's to santify them and make them holy .Note;when a home or place is taken back from evil or demons rebuked from there then oil is anointed on the doors, windows, and it's purified, no longer can evil dwell there or return. It has been santified/cleansed for the Lord's people.

Blessing oil can be used for various purposes. But commonly it's used for healing: "Dear Lord, please minister to _____(name)____". And the Elders may lay hands upon the person and pray for him. Then say, "i (we) anoint you ____(name)____ in the Name of Jesus Christ: for the healing of your body. Healing come, and heal through and through, and make every part whole. In Jesus i (we) pray. Amen". Likewise for the home, sanctify the areas and things in the name of Jesus.

The only oil I have anointed my house with was mixed in Sears Weather Beater paint and my wife didn't like the color.
Have you noticed in the Bible it says the ELDERS of the church are to anoint with oil but it must be called for by the sick one.
We just don't bounce into the house and say I got some 10w30 here get ready.
We anoint with oil and it is the PRAYER that brings what is needed not the oil and that MAY NOT be healing.

In Isa 21:5, before going into a war they were told to anoint their shield. And the tabernacle, alter vessels, Ex 40:9-10. Jacob's Pillar at Bethel Gen 28:18. This is biblical.

Where in the bible does it say we are to annoint homes, cars, or anything other than someone. Where do you get this doctrine.

Since we are told as Christians to pray to the Father in the name of Jesus when I anoint anyone I put the oil on their forehead, and say"I anoint you in Jesus Name(or In the Name of Jesus)"then I lay hands on their head or shoulder and pray. When praying over a house I take the oil anoint the doors & windows or whatever I'm praying over and say"In Jesus Name" as I touch the house. No other way to God except through Jesus.
