How To Find The Best Church

How can you know if you're going to church for the right reason v.s. social reason? I try to find a church home teaching the holy bible, but seem to lean toward social side. Can anyone give suggestions on a good based church?

Moderator - Candice why are you changing churches so frequently and changing what you believe so frequently? What is going on inside of you?

Candice ... are you the CXandice that was leaving the J W's and then saying good-bye to us because you are going back to them?

That was only a short time ago.

There is nothing wrong in your church felllowship having a good social side, as this gives you opportunity to meet more with othe Christians, and explore your shared faith.

The JW's teach a lot that is contrary to the Bible.

we all have a social side to us when it comes to being with our family in God the fellowship is good let me ask u a question when you go & the service starts do you cont. to talk & find other ways to communicate like write notes, etc. or do u enter in & listen to Gods word & reverence the Holy Spirit if u can say u praise God & worship him during the service & reverence his word as it's being spoken u r there for the right if not change that u can fellowship before & after there's nothing wrong with that

Candice - Hi. Go to a church where the finished work of Jesus on the Cross is being preached. Jesus' finished work on the Cross is for sin, salvation, and Jesus won the victory there over the world, the flesh and the devil and He did it all for you. Jesus is real.

Candice::Its been nearly a year & I see you are still struggling. It seems to be between your husband & your differences. He feels his convictions are right & solid. Do you see any flaws? then state your intentions & stay with your convictions Jesus will find You, If you do not find Him,Because He sees your desire, just show Him your love, because, this is what He wants,"Follow me,I am the way the truth & the life" Blessings & I hope you find Joy Peace & rest be happy.

look for a church that teaches biblical truth only and straight from the bible, not of mans teachings. find one your comfortable with the people around you. I advise you to try the seventh day adventist church. they will welcome you with open arms. they have many bible studies which you will enjoy and you will not be forced to do anything you dont want. just give them a visit first. God bless and may God direct you to the right church.

The best type of church is one that shares your same beliefs. Where it is preached. Where Christ and salvation is taught. Then you will be able to make friends with liked minded Christians.

There is value in the socil activities ''' youcan get to know your fellow members on a personal basis, and know about their families, jobs, hobbies and so on. This is good, all those things are given by God.
Also in such gatherings you can chat about your problems and doubts, and about your triumphs and joys. This can bring encouragement to others, and to yourself

Yes I can just attend & go home. My husband wants to go & remain with the luthern church& I agree since he is the head& he actually will go to church.

Candice,if there is too much of the social side to the church you are attending at the moment you don't need to be an active part of that do you? Can you not just go to the meetings where you will be spiritually fed, Sunday morning and evening and mid-week prayer meeting/bible study or whatever your church offers. You do not have to stay for coffee and chats if you would prefer to go straight home afterwards and re-study the scripture used in the sermon. You'll eventually find a balance I'm sure.

Candice:You are lost & like a ship adrift, without a rudder. This Quest for Divine Guidance is yours alone, the only alternative is to pray 24/7 & ask Jesus to guide you do not listen to outside forces your decision should be inspired.l wish you well & I shall also pray for you.If you dont mind an RC Prayer.

I think you need to stop and let Jesus lead the way. We need to be followers of Jesus. Pray that he will lead you into a church that you need to be in at and where he can use you the most. Stand still.

I left the JW, mainly because my husband said he would leave me. Anyhow I change churches a lot because am trying to find the one that focus' more on Jesus & less on social activities.
